Our condo is a bright and beautiful oceanfront oasis on the 4th floor and West Tower of Ixchel Beach Hotel. The 50+ ft long and 7 ft wide wrap-around balcony overlooking the beach and ocean is a wonderful place to be at all times, with unrivalled views of stunning Yucatan sunsets. A red hammock, large enough for two, resides on this ocean front balcony for impromptu naps amidst the melody of waves gently lapping on the beach directly below.
The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean with white powder-like sand. The beach is reef protected and is lined with coconut trees. The water is turquoise blue and usually rather still.
Ixchel Beach Hotel is a full service hotel with each condo individually owned and decorated. The condo includes kitchen and dining room, and a living room with fold-out sofa. It has a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, built-in microwave, smooth counter top stove, full size refrigerator, coffee-maker, bottled water dispenser, toaster and assorted utensils, dishes, pots & pans. Wireless internet access is available in the rooms, pool and even reaches the beach most of the time!
Both the master bedroom and living room have tall 9 ft glass sliding doors that face the balcony giving the unit an airy and bright feeling. The master bedroom, facing the ocean, has a king size bed with a fully tiled bathroom including a walk-in shower enclave with ocean view and seating ledge. It is equipped with a TV/DVD and safe. A view of the ocean beckons from bed at all times!
The second bedroom has two queen size beds with an ocean view from the window. This bedroom includes a fully tiled bathroom, walk-in shower with seating ledge. Other room amenities include a coffeemaker, mini-fridge, two bar-height stools & table affording a view of the ocean, and TV/DVD.
Each room is individually climate controlled with central air/heat, blow-dryer and closet safe. Guests have use of a beautifully tiled pool with a “sunning bench” where one can lounge comfortably in a chaise submerged in 9 inches of cool water, as well as an exercise room and laundry facilities. Chairs and umbrellas are set up at the beach every morning, and beach towels are readily available.
“Como No”, a poolside restaurant, serves excellent Mediterranean and Mexican food at reasonable prices. It also offers beach side and room service. Due to the condo’s central location, many of the island’s restaurants and bars are just walking distance away.
Isla Mujeres or “Island of the Women” is a charming, restful and safe island just 15 minutes by modern ferry from Cancun. Un-littered by fast-food chains and largely navigable by golf cars, it is truly an idyllic Caribbean get-away!
