  This year is the second year we've rented this Villa, and it won't be the last! We had a spectacular time last year, and this year was even better. We rent with another family (we are both families of four) and the layout works great for us. This is a perfect place for relaxation and lots of beach time on a beautiful beach. We also hired the property's cooks and were very pleased...wonderful Mexican breakfasts and generous delicious dinners.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

  We just got back from 9 days at Villa del Mar in Playa Tortuga. The layout of the house is perfect for two families, although we were just there with our family of four and had lots of space to spare. The palapa is great for afternoon naps when the sun is high and the winds pick up a bit. The mornings were perfect at the beach every day. The pool was great in the late afternoon, or anytime really for the little ones. Gabriel and Aurora were very attentive, helping us with any request we might have, including finding popsicles for the kids. The beach is just right outside the house. The most amazing way to start the day is with a morning stroll to the beach, coffee in hand, a dip in the ocean, to come back to a beautiful breakfast all laid out on the outdoor dining table. A truly perfect family vacation!

  We had a spectacular week at Villa Del Mar. What more can you ask for? A fantastic house on the most beautiful deserted stretch of beach. We ran 3 miles round trip every single morning -- 1.5 miles, and we still couldn't see the end of the beach! Two families fit very comfortably and happily in this house, and we were spoiled by our daily delicious meal service. The house is very well stocked -- stacks of dishes, glasses and silverware, comfortable furnishings, tons of boogie boards, toys, and beach towels -- with everything we needed for a fabulous stay. The palapa is a particularly lovely spot to sit and read a book. The kids loved the beach, and playing in the gentle surf at low tide. Thank you so much. We can't wait to come back!!

  We stayed here for 2 weeks with our young children and friends, and at the end no one wanted to go home. The house is AMAZING, with very private rooms each facing the ocean, and a HUGE amount of space to easily accomodate our party and children. We got lost in the constant sound of the ocean, the mirad of things to do (from kayaking/surfing/horseback riding/eploring estuary/dinner at nearby fishing villages/etc) to just walking for MILES along completely unpopulated gorgeous beach surrounded by palm trees and breaching whales. All the kids loved the pool, and thrived in the stunning yard and gardens. There is a daily maid and laundry service, and a cook available if you would like to do absolutely nothing. The little fishing village has some great restaurants, and nearby town has a friendly and easy feel that made excursions a fun gettaway for everyone. We feel completely spoiled and appreciative of having the good fortune to stumble upon this gem!

  Thank you Pat for answering all my questions earlier. It was all as you and your listing said and more! Spacious villa on the beach with plenty of inside and outside common areas allowing us to gather as a whole family comfortably or have a quiet private space. I am so glad that we had the PLT van pick us up and also had our meals catered. Miriam's cooking was excellent! The highlight of our trip! All the Mexican dishes were delicious. It made our family Christmas holiday so relaxing for all of us when we did not have to purchase food or cook. PLT is a beautiful area and the staff work diligently looking after all the vegetation which is so pleasing. The kids loved the surf and all the water toys you supplied. All of us loved the distance of the villa to the beach where we could hear the surf all the time and watch the most fantastic sunsets from the porch.Gabriel and Pascual responded to our every request and need. Their English skills were greatly appreciated!! We all felt very much at home in your villa with your beautiful art work and large supply of Mexican dishes giving it that extra feeling. It is my hope that we will return.

  Hi Pat! Just wanted you to know that we had a FABULOUS time at your villa over the Christmas holiday. I've attached a photo my son took one evening when the moon was so bright you could practically read outside! The warm glow coming from the villa quite nicely sums up the feelings we all had while we were staying there -- it was a home away from home...and more! Aurora prepared wonderful meals -- we loved trying to figure out which meal was which from the sample menu list. Gabriel was always helpful and we enjoyed chatting with him. He and the staff do a wonderful job of keeping the villa and grounds beautiful and clean. During our stay our younger son proposed to his girlfriend -- while they were surfing (he had the ring in his pocket)! So, that added to the special time we were already having together. My 90-year old Mom, who never really had Mexico on her wish-list of places to go (!), enjoyed it as well. She especially enjoyed being lulled to sleep each night by the soft sound of the surf, and being able to walk such a short way to the beautiful beach and pool. We loved that the distractions were so few -- we played games, worked on puzzles, read, rode horses, relaxed...and oh how we enjoyed those meals! The three surfers in our group had expected to be driving around to find surf spots and were pleasantly surprised that the surf was quite good right at "our" beach! I have shared your VRBO listing info with friends and hope they will one day rent your villa and have a similar, wonderful experience.   This has been an incredible month for us. Dave and I both are celebrating the big 60 and our gift to one another was to rent your place and enjoy it with our family. It has been beyond our expectations. This house is really not a rental..,.it feels like a home and is so well supplied with water toys, games, books, cooking utensils. We found everything we could have ever needed. Thanks for sharing your beautiful paradise with us. We can't thank you enough. Dave and Debbie

  The location was fantastic. Very secluded and right on the beach. The sunsets were great every day! The beach is clean with great soft sand. Bring insect repellent during the summer and make sure you have all the food and stuff you need before you get there. Stores are not near by! The house was clean and well maintained. Make sure to look for turtles !

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  We had a WONDERFUL time! It is, hands down, the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. Everything was exactly as described and better. Elvira and the ladies out did themselves every day with the food. We had more than we could have ever dreamed of eating. The house was spotlessly clean and so comfortable to stay in. There is so much room in there, and the wrap around porch was the best. Everyone loved being able to wake up in the morning and look out at the ocean and listen to the waves. Andres was so helpful. He helped the boys peel a coconut and drink the milk! He takes such pride in his job, it shows in the condition of the grounds. The flowers were beautiful and add such a nice touch. Great house, great beach, great staff. It was a Five Star Holiday. Thank you so much, I am telling everyone I know about it! Curt and Becky Knoepke Cole, Schafer, Devin and Riley.

  just wanted to let you know that we very much enjoyed your house. We had a wonderful vacation. Gina did an incredible job and was an invaluable help -- she even brought us food when she realized that we failed to pick up anything to eat when we arrived late the first night.
