In the fall and winter months snuggle up to the gas log stone fireplace, and in the summer months, open the windows to let the fresh mountain air and soothing sound of the crystal clear creek and waterfalls whisper in. The sounds of the mountain creatures and forest surroundings are sure to help you drift off to sleep. At an elevation of 3100 ft. the temperature rarely gets above 80 degrees, so come beat the heat.
Elk Falls is on the main road that in 15-20 minutes will take you to the Cataloochee wild Elk herd. (Don't be surprised to see an elk in the front yard!) Nearby you will find gem mining, golfing, trout fishing (and fishing classes), camping and guided horseback pack trips, whitewater rafting, skiing in winter as well as amusement parks, skate parks and a full health and fitness center. For the avid hiker be sure to pack all your hiking gear!Many events and festivals are scheduled year round.
Elk Falls is conveniently located to many areas of interest: To enter the Great Smoky Mountains National Park you must drive right past this cabin. A 10 minute drive takes you to the beautiful, quaint town of Maggie Valley. Shopping in Maggie Valley varies from art and antiques to pottery, crafts and keepsakes--something for everyone. You will be only 30 minutes from Cherokee with its casino and hotel; the outdoor drama "Unto These Hills"; the Oconaluftee Indian Village; the Museum of the Cherokee Indians and Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual. Asheville and the beautiful 8000 acres Biltmore Estate is only a 30 minute drive. The Biltmore House is America's largest home -- you will find the gardens, vineyard and winery on the estate exceptionally beautiful. Ghost Town in the Sky, a timeless family fun mountain top theme park is only 15 minutes away. Another 15 minute drive will take you to the beautiful quaint town of Waynesville with its great restaurants, wonderful art, unique shops and Mast General Store (an Appalachian tradition since 1883). Popular Gatlinburg, TN and Dollywood Theme Park are a convenient day trip away. Here you will find many attractions for the entire family.

You can also take in the views while relaxing in the hot tub on the porch or cozy up in front of the gas log stone fireplace in the family room. The kitchen has been stocked with everything you need, whether you're preparing a large group meal or a romantic dinner for two. The cabin features a main level master bedroom with custom built king size bed and oversized, jetted jacuzzi tub in the master bath, cable/satellite TV, DVD, VCR, stereo system, a video library,a music library and many, many games for kids of all ages. Internet access (wireless and hard wire)is provided. Unlimited long distance calling in the continental United States is provided at no additional charge.
