La Bougainvillea is an ocean front estate, situated on 30 acres, with 1,200 feet on the ocean, rolling silver palm forest, outdoor pool, large outdoor patio, three bedrooms, and two and a half bathrooms. The home is equipped with housekeeping Monday - Friday, two gardeners, groundskeeper, satellite T.V., wifi internet, DVD/CD player, A/C, BBQ grill, full kitchen, and laundry room.
The property is located on one of Eleuthera’s most pristine, private beaches, with it’s powder-like pink sand, and clear waters. Coral reefs are nestled nearby the shoreline, and make a great attraction for snorkeling.
La Bougainvillea was built by the Austrian born, original home owner, designed to incorporate indoor and outdoor living. As such, each room is separate, requiring one to step out in to the fresh air, in order to enter the next room. The master bedroom sleeps a king-size bed, with a master bathroom, safe, A/C, and fan. The second room sleeps a queen- size bed, and shares a full bathroom with the third bedroom, which sleeps two full-size beds. Both bedrooms include A/C, armoires, and fans for your convenience.
The home is conveniently located 15 minutes from Governor's Harbour Airport (GHB). Car rental service, taxi service, and other important information can be provided upon request.
Neighboring property, 7 Palms, is available for rent along with La Bougainvillea to accommodate larger parties.

My girlfriend and I fell in love with Eleuthera the very first time we drove through the Island. I was looking for a place that was not commercialized. A place that can bring you back to a simpler time. I was not sure such a placed still existed. Well, fortunately for us, there is! I hope you will enjoy our home.

OUR EXPERIENCE AT LA BOUGAINVILLA WAS WONDERFUL. IT WAS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. THE HOUSE, LANDSCAPE, BEACH WERE GREAT. HENREATTA, THE HOUSE MAID WAS A PLEASURE. WE ARE PLANING ON RETURNING TO YOUR HOME AGAIN. WE HAVE BEEN TO ELEUTHRA MANY TIMES AND FIND YOUR HOME WORTH WHAT YOU PAY FOR. JACK VAN ISEGHEM. BY THE WAY WE STAYED 10 DAYS AND THEY WENT TO FAST.

Beach and location are perfect for people who are looking for a private oceanfront setting. Henrietta, the caretaker, is wonderful. Amenities for computer, fax and children's toys should be omitted in the description as the owner keeps this locked up. This was no big deal for us as the wireless router and aircard were accessible and we brought our own computer. Somethings that you should know -- the house is broken into four seperate units and you have to go outside to get into each unit -- main room, master bedroom, kitchen and the remaining two bedrooms (this also makes the house very difficult to lock up if you leave). If you are in the master bedroom sleeping and someone gets up at night to go to the kitchen, then you will hear the doors opening and closing from people leaving the main room and then opening the kitchen (have to keep the doors close at night as there can be lots of bugs) The house shows some wear and tear -- again for us, not a big deal. Our impression of the house prior to arrival was elevated based on pictures on facebook, websites, etc. Upon arrival at the driveway we knew that the upkeep (not by the caretaker, but by the owner) of the house would not be as high as our expectations. The house name on the entry way sign was spelled wrong and to fix it, the owner seemed to just tack on a letter with no care in appearance. This was a sign that things would not be up to par for a luxuriously maintained home. Minor Issues: some light fixtures are broken, rust on metal faucet handles, oven is old, could not turn on pool light, when it rains hard the house will get water inside unless you shut the shutters and the grill is an old weber with a broken handle. There are ants all over the property and they get into the kitchen/house. I would not say this place is luxurious like a ritz carlton, but the outside grounds and beach setting make up for the minor issues of the home. Reefs are somewhat barren in front of the home so snorkeling is limited. I would consider renting this property again as the beach and grounds are superb and the pool is an added bonus, but for someone who is not laid back to an island lifestyle they may have some gripes about the "luxuriousness" of the home. Also, I believe the owner may be selling the home, so not sure how that would affect rentals in the future if the home is sold. Feel free to contact me for more information and pictures.
