We thoroughly enjoyed our stay ay Seven Palms. Elvia was very helpful in renting the house, the staff was great in solving the few problems were encoutnered. We found we didn't have a blender (can you imagine a week on the beach without a blender?), Henrietta (the housekeeper) actually let us use hers. Typical for the people of Eleuthera, as nice and welcoming as any place we have been. Be advised, it is not for everyone, the roads are terrible, rental cars seem to all have issues, no real night life or "resort atmosphere". We lead a very busy life, so getting away and relaxing on this quiet, peaceful island is something we treasure. The house is very elegant and well cared for, the beach in front is gorgeous, and the location on Banks road is ideal. Tippy's and Tappa's right down the road, close to Gov Harbour. If your rental vehicle will get you there, we highly recommend exploring for beaches, there are plenty of guides to help. Friday night fish fry by the library in Gov Harbour is a great time, try the conch salad (the "Conch Ninja" makes it great, as "hot" as you can stand). This was our sixth or seventh trip, we are already looking forward to the next.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

The house was fantastic as 4 of the bedrooms look directly out onto the water and the beach is completely secluded. We snorkeled and swam every day and when you wake up in the morning the view from bed is stunning just beautiful lawn extending to blue ocean. It's a quick walk across the lawn and down the stairs to the beach. Forget about the Frommer's guides for Eleuthra as there is absolutely nothing going on there (hurricanes took most things out). But if you're looking to take a vacation and have some family time at the beach in solitude, this is your place. We highly recommend the restaurant at the end of the road. It's superb and the only thing to do! The golf course is over run with goats and overgrown so leave your clubs at home. A cruise line has a mock village set up on a piece of beach miles away from the house and there's a supposed lighthouse but in looking for it found that the roads would virtually disappear (hurricane again). The car agencies are all owned by one guy and you're either driving an old van or his old van. A visit to Harbour Island is fun and worth the drive. The library at Govenor's Point is worth the trip if only for the architecture and it's the closest town to Palmetto Point. Check out the conch piles and there's a couple of shops. Further out there is an artist's studio with a wonderful woman who runs the shop, we purchased a couple of paintings and a beautiful basket. With two bedroom wings it's nice if you're sharing with another family and again the views are incredible. Take a long walk on the beach and swim in the water we even saw a sea turtle. We went a few years ago and brought our kids and some friends and we are all still talking about that vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Hi! My girlfriend and I fell in love with Eleuthera the very first time we drove through the Island. I was looking for a place that was not commercialized. A place that can bring you back to a simpler time. I was not sure such a placed still existed. Well, fortunately for us, there is! I hope you will enjoy our home. Thank you, Tom & Geanie
Why the Owner Chose North Palmetto Point:
The Banks Road is a very special location on the Island. While the entire Island is unique and beautiful, there is no place like the scenery you will enjoy while driving through this very special part of the Island.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The property is situated on 70 acres, with 1,200 feet on the Atlantic Ocean. The beach here is one of the most spectacular beaches on the island. The breeze coming off the ocean is wonderful and un-comparable to other travel destinations. There are very few places left in the world where you can be on your own private beach and not see any other person.
