The Sound is a shallow body of water even 200 yards from the dock and is perfect for kids who love to run and jump off the end.

Why the Owner Chose Southern Shores
I spent many wonderful summers in the Outer Banks. The natural beauty of the beaches and a true sense of community are just a few of the reasons that I made the Outer Banks home for 10 years. With many close friends and family ties to the area, I will always consider the beaches and towns of the area one of my favorite places on earth. My home is in one of the best kept secret spots on the beach. Located on a quiet street with no through traffic, my home has the privacy and serene feel of being away from the hustle and bustle of a resort area yet is only a 5-10 minute drive to the beaches, restaurants and activities of Southern Shores, Duck and Kitty Hawk.
The Unique Benefits at this House
One of a kind home on the Albemarle Sound with west facing views over open water. Guests can enjoy sunsets from your private dock and some of the best swimmimg the Outer Banks has to offer. The Sound is your playground.Relax in the hammock and watch the kids can play safely all day in the water as it is about 3-4 feet deep from the end of the dock to at least 200 yards out. I have 2 kayaks for your use and the sandy bottom of the Sound can usually be seen as the water is exceptionally clean and clear.
Brand New Public Boat Launch only 2 miles away. Bring your boat and launch from here, a five minute ride around the point and you are at your private dock behind the house!

Public Beach Access is never a problem with numerous accesses and lots of parking. Beach acceses almost every 100 yards or so from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head.
Honoring the First Flight of Wilbur and Orville Wright the Monument and Museum are a must see for visitors
The stretch of rt 158 through Currituck towards the beach is full of charming antique shops and roadside produce stands. Some of the best local crafts and the freshest fruits and veggies around.
A great day trip these beaches are accessed by 4 wheel drive only. A herd of wild mustangs roam free and are a sight to see.
The views from these massive natural sand dunes are amazing. Hang Gliding and Kite Flying classes attract visitors from all over the country
