Ready access to Interlochen National Music Camp, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore, and scenic Benzie and Leelanau Counties including unmatched outdoor recreational amenities for water sports, hiking, and golf. Antique furnishings lend appropriate feel to vintage property. Approximately 15 minutes (eight miles) to the center of Traverse City.
630 sand beach and lake bottom includes approximately 35 acres mixed pine and hardwoods forest, including stand of second growth white/red pine and small peat bog wetland. Abundant wildlife including deer, grouse, turkey, river otter, woodcock, raccoon; excellent fishing for walleye, pike, bass, and panfish. 16’ Old Town Camper Royalex canoe, PFDs (life jackets), paddles, and fishing poles by arrangement without charge. Bed linens, towels, and washcloths by arrangement.
House was build in late 1800s and includes a second story sleeping attic with sloped ceilings and two separate sleeping areas with wrought iron double beds separated by screening and the central stair. Lower bedroom off stair landing sleeps two comfortably. Fold-away couch in living room and available twin box springs & mattress and roll-away cot facilitate extra accommodation upstairs, in living room or porch.
48' dock, fire pit and seating platform at beach. Adjacent 660-foot frontage to west owned by our cousins, enduring uncrowded privacy and a sense of seclusion not attainable in waterfront lot and vacation property developments. Charcoal weber-type grill available.

- Linens Provided: Linens are provided on an optional basis for an additional fee based on the number of individuals in the booking. Linnens include bedsheets and pillow cases and washcloth, hand towel and towel for each person. Pillows, blankets, and bedspreads are provided without charge; all gustes should bring theor own beach towels.

Neither are standard size; the larger is wider than a twin and is accommodated with standard double sheets, the smaller is a Jenny Lind that is accommodated by twin sheets but as a bit undersized. A standard twin mattress and box springs are available by arrangement for a ninth person.

- Beachfront: The house is located at the north end of Long Lake, with over 630 feet of private sand beach and lake bottom which benefit from all-day sun. It is ideal for a party with smaller children, as the beach area nearest the house is on a sand bar, where the water warms up particularly well and an adult can wade out 50 yards or so and be only neck deep. By contrast, the most distant part the frontage (to the west) has a drop-off approximately 25 feet from shoreline where the depth changes from about 5 feet to around 20 - 25 feet over about a 20 foot range and which offers very good fishing.
