This spectacularly designed, meticulously renovated and fully equipped 3200 sq. ft. structure consists of a huge 2 story open plan kitchen, dining and entertaining area with four seating groupings; there is a dramatic spiral staircase at the center of the house. The first floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twins that share a full bath. There is also a half bath downstairs. Upstairs is a larger bedroom with a queen bed; this bedroom uses a wonderful bath with an eight person sauna and an entrance to a large deck. There is a washer and dryer upstairs, and all towels, linens and household equipment are on hand.
The kitchen features a Sub-Zero fridge, a Miele oven and a built-in microwave in a large cooking island. There are many beautiful glass and wood cabinets and plenty of prep space, plus all cooking equipment. There's a dining table for six in the two story glass "silo", and another outdoor table and grill, as well as plenty of outdoor furniture.
Outdoors, our guests share a new 20' X 40" pool and 8' X 8' hot tub with us. The house has two decks, and shares 10 acres of terraced gardens, pasture land and woods with the main house. Across the road is forever wild preservation land. Tanglewood is one third of a mile down the road, and it's two miles to downtown Lenox. Under mountain Road joins up with Main Street and two other roads to make a popular 5 mile loop which is a favorite with walkers and bicyclers.
Every sort of cultural venue is found here: Classical and chamber music, theater, and opera, as well as Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Berkshire botanical Garden, Hancock Shaker village, and house museums such as Ventfort Hall, Naumkeag and The Mount. Sports and spa activities abound as well, as well as shopping and dining out. It's tough to pace yourself so you don't get worn out!

We are semi-retired New Yorkers who moved to this beautiful, culturally rich area after eight years in London.
Why the Owner Chose Lenox
We live here all year. The rental house was originally a barn, then a piano studio for Malcolm Frager, and then renovated by the previous owner into an exuberant California style house, we we thought would be a brilliant rental. We think renters are more comfortable knowing we are right here if anything comes up, or if they have questions about the area.
The Unique Benefits of this House
When you rent here, you are literally in the center of the Berkshires, just down the road from Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Co., Canyon Ranch, Kripalu and Cranwell Resort. To the north is Pittsfield and Williamstown and to the south Stockbridge, Great Barrington and Sheffield. It's about 3 hours to NYC, and 2 1/2 to Boston.
