A large bedroom with it's own bath on the ground level can double as a playroom or quiet space away from the upstairs living area activities. When you find the ocean breezes are not enough, turn on the central air for extra comfort. Beach chairs and beach umbrella are provided for your use while you enjoy sun and fun on miles of ocean beach and fresh-water/salt-water ponds, just minutes away. Upon your return, follow the stepping stones to our enclosed outdoor shower to get refreshed for your next activity.
Don't miss Ninigret Park, also in Charlestown for a delightful change from the ocean experience. Here you can enjoy fresh-water swimming with a lifeguard (great for young children), walking trails, picnic areas, basketball and tennis courts, and an observatory open to the public to view the night sky through a telescope on Friday nights. Ninigret Park is also the spot you will find summer events like the Big Apple Circus, Seafood Festival and Rhythm & Roots Festival.
Summer activity opportunities are abundant with swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking, sailing, motor-boating and the best flat water and ocean canoeing in Rhode Island just minutes away. Practice your swing at the public golf range to get ready for playing one of the 7 golf courses located close by. Having just returned from another fabulous week at the Blueberry Patch I can tell you that this is a great vacation home. The first time we rented this home we did it sight unseen and totally relied on the photos on the internet and we were not disappointed. The pictures accurately reflect the appearance of this spacious home, it is immaculate! It is in a great location, close to a number of activities, restaurants and attractions. (We love Dave's coffee shop on Rt.1 and we always fit in side trips to Watch Hill and Newport as well as kayaking). We try to support the local businesses by purchasing our produce at Peaches, the local stand and our groceries at the local Charlestown Mini Super.) The property is ideal for just lounging around on the deck or if you feel like it, the well equipped kitchen allows for fixing extravagant meals! The owners are very pleasant to deal with and are very responsive to all questions and concerns. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to spend time at a great family beach and explore the Rhode Island shore.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Since we moved from Rhody 10 years ago, we return every summer with our family. This year, we needed to find a place last minute and the owners we amazing to work with. They made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean, comfortable and came complete with a huge second story deck that we (and your friends) enjoyed. Although this house is advertised as a 2 bedroom, the first floor has a giant playroom with 2 twin beds and a bathroom that our kids simply loved. About the owner: Vacationing in Charlestown has been part of our family tradition since the 1920's. Then, as now, we have found the ocean and ponds in Charlestown to be a very special, unique place and a perfect vacation spot to spend time with family and friends. Five generations of our family have shared many wonderful, memorable experiences here, walking the beaches, clamming and boating in the ponds, visiting nature preserves, landmarks and local points of interest.

It's the perfect place for family gatherings, picnics on the beach, fishing, sailing, beach-combing, kayaking, clamming and just plain relaxing in a beautiful, natural setting that renews the soul.
