Located above one of the Island’s most beloved beaches midway between the charming Langley Village and Freeland, you will find the Cottage has been thoughtfully furnished for your enjoyment. Among the many amenities are an expansive library, collection of CD’s and DVD’s, quality linens, a fully furnished kitchen, a croquet set and golf clubs.
The Cottage offers panoramic water views from the expansive deck and from the living room, dining room , kitchen and master bedroom. Eagle sightings are common. French doors lead from the dining area onto a comfortably furnished spacious deck with gas barbeque. Beyond the deck, surrounded by gardens, you’ll find a large lawn just right for croquet.
It’s a short walk from the cottage to the private beach offering a covered picnic area and a boat ramp; a perfect spot for beachcombing , kayaking, clamming and relaxation.

We loved the cottage, we felt right at home here and it was so relaxing Our three year old thoroughly enjoyed croquet for the first time and watching seals and eagles. What a beautiful spot. Favorites: Langley Café, Braeborn Café, Day trip to Port Townsend, walking through Fort Casey. Thank you for opening your hope to us – the landscaping and flowers were gorgeous.

We enjoyed our too-short week here at Shipton in order to soak in all the beauty/tranquility which we know so characteristically of Whidbey. Our own piece of the island awaits us at retirement here and Shipton allowed us more time to convince us this is the right decision. The cottage was a perfect respite for regaining energy in order to return to a busy civilization! Thank you so much.

We love Whidbey Island and all the fun things for families to do here. We brought grandma ad grandpa this time, so they too could see why we love this place. Especially loved your Shipton Cottage – peaceful, beautiful, loved the birds and view! Even tried to catch crab out front – no “keepers” this time. Will be back. Kids loved croquet – perfect yard for it. Great cottage – loved the candles too!! We’ll definitely come back – beautiful!

The key thing that impressed me the most was the silence. The only interruptions to the silence were the noises of nature – birds, animals and the sea. I now know why Thoreau fell in love with Walden Pond. Your delightful “cottage” helped all of this come together.
