We enjoyed our stay here for the most part. The linens are all clean and abundant, and the owner provides a few beach/pool towels, which is nice. The kitchen is very small, but there are a good amount of supplies (we found 4 cork screws and 3 can openers). Be prepared to bring all your own food, though, including condiments, oil, dressing, etc. There are a ton of board games in the cabin and the community libary is great for books, both adult and children's. The in-cabin washer and dryer is also a plus. We only had two challenges during our stay: When we first arrived there was a strong musty odor (we rent cabins a lot, but the odor of this one was worth mentioning). Not too bad after we opened the windows, but I did notice the scent on my clothes when we got home. Second, the staircase in the cabin is steep and doesn't have a rail on the outside, so we had to watch our playful 3-year-old when she went up and down - she loved to poke her head over the edge and things got a little scary a few times. Another issue, but not a big deal, was that I found myself fixing lamps all weekend - gluing shades back together, tightening brackets, etc. - so that they wouldn't all collapse when we came near them. Maybe the place just needs a little TLC. Overall, a fun stay.
Owner response:I am very pleased that Julie and her family had a great time at the cabin. I am always curious if people enjoyed their stay. Unfortunately it was the first time it was rented out for the season so it should have been aired out from the long winter months of sitting unoccupied. I did have a cleaner go and do a spring cleaning but an airing out would of been a good idea also. I hope she returns for another stay. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the water view and the deer wondering by. Nancy

We took our two granddaughters to WA and stayed at this cute and comfortable little cabin for several days before our week in Seattle. The location is wonderful - peaceful, quiet, private with nice views of the water and Mt. Ranier. There are stairs to the water, and it's an easy walk (or short drive) to the heated pool and rec room, which the kids loved. We enjoyed all the critters that wandered through the yard. There are walking paths along the shore, which we used every morning - sometimes alongside the deer, then walked back along the beach. There's also a state park nearby w/ additional hiking trails. Cabin is casual, with comfy beds. Small TV, but we didn't even use it - too much to do. Only downside is the kitchen needs some updating, especially since there are NO groceries or restaurants nearby (bring food with you in your cooler). Was also surprised that, after paying $75 for cleaning fee, we were required to make up our own beds and wash linens when we left. All-in-all, a great place for a peaceful vacation.
