Wood Rose Lodge is a charming magical 1923 woodsy lodge perched on a little hill and just 50 yards to the shore of lovely historic Malibu Lake. The lodge is situated in the mountains above Malibu, a scenic 10 minute drive to Malibu beaches.
The house has 3 BR, 2 BA and 1700 sq. ft. This is a truly unique property reminiscent of an Adirondack lake cabin. Cozy, woody interior with massive River rock fireplace in the Great room. High coffered beam ceilings. There's even a charming sleeping porch.
Loaded with original turn of the century details but upgraded with modern amenities. Furnished with antiques and shabby chic style furnishings. Also includes a 47" Widescreen 1080dpi TV.
The lodge has a spacious modern kitchen. Bathrooms are remodeled and include unique features like a dual showerhead red slate roman tub/shower downstairs and dual sink antique vanity and rustic travertine tile bath surround and floors upstairs.
The house sits on a half acre of completely fenced and gated grounds. The property also includes a separate cozy artist's studio with skylight. Pets Welcome. Swimming in the lake, fishing, boating (electric boats only) are all right outside your door.
Malibu Lake has been the backdrop for hundreds of timeless films including the original "Frankenstein", "Huckleberry Finn"", Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" and modern films like "Must Love Dogs" and "The Story of Us". We're also a short hike to the former set location of "M.A.S.H" and "Planet of the Apes".
The lake is surrounded by parks, so there are plenty of local trails to explore. Tennis courts, pool, picnic area. 3 mins. drive to shopping, restaurants, theaters and fabulous antiquing and much more....You'll never forget your stay here!
