we stayed at the apartment for new year's and it was great!the location is excelent, the apartment is simple but very comfortable and it was warm!(it was very cold in paris). We were 2 couples and the beds were confortable and that what matters as in Paris u walk, walk, walk! the apartment is in front of the door of gourmet lafayette, the bordeauxteque (highly recomend),200 meters from monoprix supermarket, cafes, the restaurant downstairs la carlandez was quite good!subway stations at the doorstep and the bus from the airport about 1 block from the apartment. Very good for the price! Thank you Antoine for your attention as well.

We want to let you know that the owner returned to us the 30 euros we gave to the lady that open the door as we explained on the last comment. He apologized to us and also stated that he will fix the details we mentioned before. we appreciate his nice attitude.

We just came back from our trip from Paris and we had some uncomfortable experiences to share. First, we pay to the owner the full amount of the rent for 7 nights and 8 days prior arriving to the apartment. We missed the plane and we let him know early about that, telling him that we will be arriving there on the next day about 5pm. Anyway, it was an extra day for him with the apt empty but paid. He texted us back the following day telling us that he did not have a person to open the apartment for us until 8pm and that we have to pay to the person on charge 30 euros because he said he had to look for somebody twice to do that. In his description of the apartment he mention having several people that can help the tenants, that is not true; we had to wait until almost 10pm at the door outside with the luggages until the lady showed up and we had to pay her to open the door. When we got into the apt., everything was totally different that the pictures. The hall at the entrance has a ligh bulb that instead of a shade, it has a paper bag.The bed clothes and towels were hunging up all over to dry and the dryer machine full of clothes, The coffee maker full with old coffee, The sofa does not exist, instead of it, is a bed. The rocking chair doesnt exist either; instead of it you find several cleaning house items one on top of the others, a base with plastic flowers falling on top of them.Under the small TV it was a shelf full of wires like spire web that you could not know wich one was for the TV, for the cable, or for the phone, plus a lot of old magazines and papers completely desorganized. At the attic, there is a bed with only one night stand and one lamp (not 2 like is in the picture) an old TV is on the floor that doesn work, without conecting cables. One window without curtain The extra blanquets without folding on top of the small closet that has old sheets. The apartment was very desorganized, the elevator worked 4 days only We organized some of the apartment to feel more comfortable. We like to go frequently to Paris but next time we will look for another apartment making sure that somebody will be in charge at the arriving time. The location is good, but you can find many apartments aroun in better condition for less money. Also we learned is better not to paid in full in advance. We suggest the owner to take the pictures with the current status of the apartment to be honest with the future tenants. We took pictures of it. Not recomended it
Owner response:How can I respond? Of course I am unhappy about that and feel sorry about the way this customer felt his experience went. I organized everything to be there open the apartment for him and his family and welcome them. Instead I waited and waited long hours and got an email only 3 hours after they were supposed to arrive that they missed the plane. I had to leave that same evening and had to find someone to greet them the day after. Of course in Paris people don't waste their afternoon or go to the other side of town for nothing and I had to pay a person to do that which I told the tenant. From then on nothing was good enough for him. I feel the review is unfair and biased. Perfect illustration of that negative orientation: I made the couch into a bed especially to welcome his large family and make sure they each had a bed available and made when they arrive....That becomes a negative that there is no couch... and everything is like this in this review. I had to disturb one of the person who takes care of the apartment completely unexpectedly after her work that finished at 9pm to go and open the door to them, struggled to find someone who could do that on such short notice and be available, to explain to them that I had to leave some sheets hanging because we had tenants leaving that same morning but I could not wait any longer as I had a trip already planned that evening. And that is the kind of review I get!? this is disappointing and I frankly hope a mistake among all the other much more favorable reviews.

I'd like to say that we had a very pleasant stay there. We were a group of 6 adults staying for 7 nights at the apartment. After arriving at the apartment my initial concerns that the apartment might be small for our large group faded away. There is plenty of space and the apartment easily accommodated all of us. I want to assure every new tenant that the 6 adults slept comfortably. The kitchen is equipped with everything that one might need to prepare dinner and enjoy it with French wine bought from the nearby supermarket. Location is perfect- walking distance from main Parisian landmarks and with several metro stations in a block or two from the apartment. Antoine is the perfect host – always replied to my mails and questions. I found the apartment via google search and of course I had my doubts and concerts when I had to send a booking deposit to Antoine 4 months before our travel. Now I can say that my concerns were groundless. The next day after leaving the apartment Antoine transferred me back the booking deposit. He is the perfect, upright and honest landlord. I would like also to confirm everything written by the other tenants in the reviews herein. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in it, this was an absolute great experience which we would love to repeat again and I will definitely recommend this apartment to all of my friends!
Owner response:Thank you for that great review. Come back anytime. Antoine

I really felt like I was "living" Paris, I was very comfortable and the owner Antoine was the perfect host: he had arranged for someone to meet me on arrival with keys . He was readily available by phone or internet if I had any questions during my stay .The apartment is very comfortable and I was really sure. I will go soon !

I really enjoyed my two-week stay at this apartment. Ths location is super, as it's right in the center of Paris, near a number of Metro and RER lines, plus lots of busses. The apartment is most comfortable and has everything anyone would need to have a positive experience in Paris. Despite the fact that it is in a busy section of the city - behind le Printemps and les Galeries Lafayette, it is quiet at night. I very much enjoyed having leisurely breakfasts and dinners there, often while looking out the windows at the scene below, as well as viewing the city from the terrace of le Printemps. Because it occupies the two top floors of the building, you don't have to deal with the sound of people tromping around above you as was the case in an apartment I stayed in several years ago. Although I was there by myself, I could see that there was plenty of room for a family or a group of friends. If you like to shop, the location is perfect, given the number of stores in the area, and there are some very nice bakeries, cafes and restaurants right there. It is also a tremendous bargain, given the price of hotels and many other apartments in Paris. I would certainly recommend it to my friends.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your feedback Frederick. You have been a great tenant! I am glad you enjoyed your stay and would welcome you there anytime. Antoine

We came to this apartment after three days at a Citidines hotel. What a difference! We really felt like we were "living" Paris, rather than watching it go by from a sterile hotel room. Antoine was the perfect host: he had arranged for someone to meet us on arrival with keys etc (who speaks English very well). He was readily available by phone or internet if we had any questions during our stay and was very flexible as our needs changed during the stay. The apartment is very comfortable. I was unsure how well our family of five (oldest kid is 14) would cope in a small apartment, however there were no problems on that score at all, as the loft serves as a great parents' retreat. Antoine has a good stock of music and books, including guide books, which are very helpful for the first time visitor to Paris. The tiny Parisian lift is absolutely gorgeous!! And our only interactions with the neighbours were very friendly (with absolutely *no* noise from the neighbours at all!). Little things make such a difference when yr travelling, and it was so nice to open cupboard doors and see the basic foodstuffs already there :-). And to have yr own washing machine/dryer is *so* convenient when travelling with kids. Location is wonderful, both for shopping (the apartment windows actually look straight into La Fayette offices), and getting around (a few metro stations within 5mins walk). Monoprix (reasonably priced, well stocked supermarket chain) is about 3mins walk from the apartment, and there is the abundance of shopping and sightseeing of Paris all at yr disposal. I'd stay at this apartment again any time. My only hesitation with recommending it is for older people or those with disabilities:the staircase to the loft is *very* steep: far too steep for anyone who's not confident of their step. And, as the bathroom and toilet are in the loft, staying downstairs for the duration of yr stay is not an option. Having said that, my 53 yr old husb with a bad knee had no problems, but it *is* very steep: if you think of a continuum between 'staircase' and 'ladder', this one is a fair bit further along that continuum than most. Overall, a fantastic hideaway in Paris!

This was our first experience with staying in an apartment instead of a hotel, and it turned out to be even better than we expected! For a family of three we had plenty of room. The apartment had washer/dryer, kitchen with appliances, dishes etc. The location was fantastic - a quiet street right near the Opera. We felt like real Parisians :). I already recommended this place to a colleague of mine who is going to Paris this summer.

We are a family of 5 with 3 growing children (ages 16, 14, 12). We stayed at the loft in Paris for one week in July 2010. I had communicated a lot with Antoine via phone and e-mail before renting. He was very helpfull and sent me a very detailed description of the apartment, the neighborhood, how to operate the applices, etc... Very helpfull. The apartment slept our family of 5 well with a bed, a pull out bed, and a matress. My wife and I shared the pull out bed and it was very comfortabel (compared to most). It looked like some type of memory foam matress. The location is great with access to 3 different Metro lines all within a 5 minute walk. To leave the Charles de Gaulle Airport was also easy with the Roissy Bus (Opera stop) only a 5 minute stroll away. Also, there is a great supermarket and fantastic shopping within 2 minutes of the apartment. I would recommend this apartment. The stairs to the loft/bathroom are steep so I would not recommend it for anyone with physical difficulties. Denis

A few problems this summer started from a very indelicate tenants who basically destroyed the carpet. before i was able to do anything (I was still in Texas), I had a couple of tenants who were disgusted by the carpet (and for good reasons: holes in it, cigarette burns- while smoking is not allowed in the apartment-, etc), lost a tenant and had to reduce the price to other to apologize for the way the carpet and overall apartment was. Since then I changed the floor and put wooden floors! re organized everything and made sure the apartment is now spotless and even more comfortable than before. I hope you will enjoy it!!
