Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
Hi, we are the Maddox Family from Bethesda, Maryland. Bary and Micale are busy commercial real estate agents in Washington, DC. The handsome kids are Elena, age 21 and Alexander, age 19. Our dog Juliet rounds out the family.
Why the Owner Chose Cambridge
After years of vacationing in Bethany Beach Delaware, we decided to find a place closer to home that still had water access, quiet surroundings, and a nice yard. Being only 2 hours from Washington DC area and 75 minutes from Baltimore and surrounding makes the house convenient even if only for a night or two. It is close to the Hyatt Resort in Cambridge, historic St Michaels, lots of great restaurants and shopping. What we found though is we hardly ever leave because we catch our own fish and crabbing is great, we love to paddle the calm deep waters right from our own dock, and the surrounding scenery is second to none. We host many painters, writers and other artist types because of the truly beautiful scenery and wildlife all around our home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We are all about you having a great time while in our home. You will find flat screen tv's with cable service, a table tennis table and equipment, dartboard and darts, horseshoes, stereos and cds in most rooms, and much more. Your pets are always welcome, thats part of the reason we don't stay in hotels, we like to bring our little dog Juliet with us, too. There are books and games and fishing equipment galore. And not to worry, you don't even need to bring sheets, pillows, towels and the like, they are all there for your use. We are always adding to the list of things to do while at the house and are open to your suggestions and comments.

We stayed for a long weekend at the end of September and had a great time. The house has everything and is close to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Easton and Annapolis. We had the best crabcakes ever at Suicide Bridge. We will be back.

My wife and I rented the house for four nights with our two dogs. We had a great time relaxing, cooking, swimming and catching and cooking crabs. Didn't leave the property except for a night at Suicide Bridge (very good) and a few trips to Emily's Produce and Walmart / Food Lion. We went out on the canoe and tanned and swam during the days and generally cooked and relaxed at night - the house had everything you need for a nice trip (the one exception being internet connection, but as it was a vacation we didn't mind). Dogs loved the place as well - it was hard to keep them out of the water!

My husband and I , along with our beloved dogs, had such a wonderful stay ! The house is charming, well-equipped, and situated on one of the most beautiful parts of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Our thanks to Micael and family for sharing this gem.

My husband and I rented this home for a long (anniversary) weekend. It was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful- everything we could want in a vacation home. I wish we could have stayed longer. from the home, we could explore Dorchester County. All the people we met were wonderful, especially the folks who run the general store in Woolford. All in all, this was a great spot. Would love to return in the summer!

My boyfriend and I stayed there in March with our 2 dogs for 1 week. I was amazed at how private yet how convenient the location is. We plan on returning, as we wish we were there during crabbing season. We have shared this link with a few friends that have been interested in getting away. The sunset is gorgeous out on the water!

Thanks Bary & Micale for a great vacation! This is a wonderful vacation home; very well equipped with every need anticipated. The split floor plan was very comfortable for us, our dogs, and family from New York who were with us for a week; everyone had plenty of privacy. The location makes it very easy to make day trips which we did, as well as just enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the water, dock and yard. Lots of good restaurants around. The crab cakes at Suicide Bridge are super, but Old Salty's are even better! Thanks again for a fabulous two weeks.

This was a great place to visit and a great place to stay! It was perfect for our needs. Close to so many things and easy driving to anywhere in the area. The house was very nicely decorated and very cozy! We would recommend this house to anyone who needs a place to stay while in the area. Thanks so much, Bary and Micale!! We truly had a great time and glad we decided to choose your home for our vacation. Since my sister and her husband live in the area, they said they would gladly refer anyone to stay there. They now know where to have people stay if they indeed need a place. It was truly what we needed for our vacation!! Thanks again and we look forward to staying again! Jeannie and Jim

We stayed at the Church Creek house during our Easter vacation. It's a lovely peaceful waterfront location filled with plenty to do or nothing at all. The inside of the home is lovely, well-decorated and comfortable as the pictures suggest. Would stay again.

We stayed at this property over the New Year weekend. The king-sized bed was the most comfortable bed we've slept in while traveling! The house had so many wonderful windows with water views. We saw 50+ bald eagles at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, MD which was only about a 15 minute dive from the house. We hope to stay here again in the near future.
