Kona Isle is a quiet condominium complex that is on the ocean just off of Ali'i Drive. A short 2-3 mile walk or drive south of Kailua-Kona. Our particular condo is overlooking a beautifully maintained garden/courtyard with views of the ocean and pool. There is a friendly gathering area for all guests of Kona Isle to use right on the ocean shore that has picnic tables, reclining lawn chairs, gas BBQs, and of course, the most spectacular sunsets.
The condo is on the 2nd floor and is an end unit. It contains most amenities that you will need to make your stay enjoyable. One bedroom with a kingsize bed and a pull-out sleeper sofa.

My sister and I had a wonderful time at your place. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves, breakfast on the lanai with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was convenient to town. I would stay again. Thanks!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This place was fairly nice - very central to restaurants, beaches and shopping. The place was a bit "elderly" although some updates are apparent. The condo door has no deadbolt - nothing other than the twist and turn handle lock. The bathroom had a urinal smell to it and the tub had a section where water pooled after a shower. The kitchen lacked some of the basics such as a teapot and a spatula. The pool and beach area was nice. Neighbors were friendly! We enjoyed a Christmas Eve get together on the beach.Recommended for: Age 55+.

This was a great location, and the condo was perfect. Great views from the condo, the grounds here are immaculate, great pool. The bbq area on the beach is unbelievable! Fresh grilled fish and mai tais on the beach watching the sunset---does it get any better than this? We would definitely come back to this place, to this condo. A wonderful home base.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Everything about this property was great.....the view from the lanai, the well kept grounds, the sound of the fountain bubbling day and night, the friendly staff and other guests. The kitchen is well outfitted for your needs whether you do some cooking in or BBQ. The bed is very comfortable and all the linens are provided. Beach going equipment in condo including chairs, coolers and towels. Close to town, restaurants and farmer's markets where you can purchase local produce. Lots of TV channels to watch when you get tired of watching the birds and the ocean! Small table and chairs on the lanai where you can enjoy meals or just gaze out into paradise. We are anxious for our return next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I would recommend this condo to anyone. All amenities were close by, it was incredibly relaxing, having the ocean sounds right outside the window was fantastic. The experience was exactly what I thought Hawaii should be. This was my first time staying here, and won't be my last. The owners were very helpful in answering my questions. The photos of the property do not give this place justice, you must see it in person.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Thank you so much for such a lovely stay! The condo was clean, comfortable, quiet, and had everything my husband, two boys, and I needed. The grounds were meticulously kept, the pool water sparkling and at the perfect temperature, and other residents and guests welcoming. Grilling and eating by the sea at sunset was incredibly memorable!! The condo is far enough away from the road that you hear no traffic yet close enough to the ocean to hear the waves crashing from the bedroom and the living room windows. The only other noise to mention is the sound of the tropical birds that will wake you up every morning. Paradise! I jogged (slowly) into town which took about 15 minutes each way, and 30 minutes to the snorkel beach; great breeze so as to not get too hot. We would recommend this condo for couples or families looking for a tranquil place to call home while you relax or explore Kona/Big Island. My boys (9-year-olds) LOVED all the geckos, and the salt water pool was great when the big waves came crashing in. We found wonderful fresh fruit, vegetables, and souvenirs at the outdoor markets, and don't miss the KTA supermarket for buying fresh, locally-caught fish like Ahi! Oh, and a new place called Da Poke Shack just a bit South down Ali'i Drive (within walking distance) is awesome!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We had a great time in Kona and were glad to have this condo to come home to every night. The property was clean and we liked having the washer/dryer within the unit. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to save by making meals at the condo. The location was great and we loved going to the market. The picnic/bbq area was great to watch the ocean at and we often found ourselves sitting there with a cold drink and a book waiting for the sun to set. It was nice and quiet at this end unit condo and we would reecommend this property. The owners were great at getting back to us and answering any questions we had.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

We stayed at Kim and Dave’s unit at the Kona Isle Condos from March 23rd to March 31st, 2010. It is in a great location with a view of the ocean, the swimming pool and the bar-be-cue area from our balcony. The gardens were well looked after. The hibiscus were beautiful. It is near a wonderful snorkeling beach, close to a market and within walking distance of downtown. It is centrally located on the west coast with nice beaches both north and south. The kitchen was the best equipped that we have ever stayed in. There was even a Crockpot. There were lots of pots, pans and casserole dishes. We had a choice of eating at the table or outside on the balcony. There was even a small cooler when we wanted to take lunch with us when we went exploring. The bedroom had lots of room for clothes. There were two dressers and a comfortable king sized bed. Extra bedding was available but not needed as the weather was great. The condo was clean and tidy with a nice décor. The owners were very helpful in answering my questions of what to see and do on the Island. The manager was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it here and would stay in this lovely condo again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We fell in love with the Hawaiian islands after our first visit to Kailua-Kona. We made the trek from the deep freeze of Canada to visit family and wished that we never had to leave. After many trips back to Kona, we made the decision to buy a little piece of it. Now we can make a trip out every so often, and when we are not in our condo, we open it up so that others can enjoy our little piece of paradise.
Why the Owner Chose Kona Isle:
We chose to buy a place in Kona Isle because it was such a nice quiet and relaxing place to be. Even though it is off the main street running through Kona you would never know it. The sounds of the waves washing against the beach as you drift off to sleep certainly doesn't hurt either!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Some of the things that we enjoy while visiting our condo is the very quiet setting that it provides. Being able to sit on the lanai, enjoy some world famous Kona coffee, and take in the beautiful view and sound of the ocean. Having a romantic dinner on the beach as the sun sinks into the ocean or having friends over and using the BBQ on the beach and cracking open a few cold drinks in the hot Hawaiian sun. The list is almost endless. You need to visit to see for yourself.
