Casa Yin Yang exemplifies tropical casual living with all of the creature comforts that even the most discerning traveler has come to expect. The home is 4,500 square feet with a private pool and jacuzzi overlooking a pristine white sand beach which was voted top 10 in the world by Trip Advisor. With warm water and one of the most consistent glassy surf breaks and glowing tropical sunsets daily, you're sure to relax in style.
This beautiful home has an open and inviting social area, including a large Brazilian stone terrace with an Indonesian teak dining set for 8+. The terrace also has an ample social area comprised of and an outdoor Indonesian style rattan living room set & comfortable seating, overlooking the sea, for maximum relaxation. Adjacent to the terrace is the non-chlorine swimming pool & Jacuzzi with imported glass tile & Columbian stone finishing. A typical palm roof Teak ”rancho” with Indo day bed, and an open sun deck complete the pool area. The social area enjoys beautiful views of the ocean, waves, giant plumeria trees and exotic tropical gardens. We have over 7 different types of colorful plumerias from Costa Rica, Hawaii & Brazil on the property, tons of coconuts, bananas, guavas, lemons, papaya, water apples, noni & more. The wildlife is abundant & you may see iguanas, centosaurs, monkeys, anteaters, armadillos, sea turtles & even whales right from the deck. There is also a pair of 3' tall tiger herons nesting on the property, white tailed hawks, frigate birds, pelicans, paroquetts & more. The kitchen is the heart of the house, open to the terrace, and comes complete with stainless steel GE Profile appliances. The main sink looks to the ocean, and the second sink is built into the kitchen island. You'll find this gourmet kitchen complete with Columbian stone counter tops, Cuisinart stainless steel cookware, a Sonoma outdoor gas grill area and virtually everything you need to prepare any meal. The living room has a 37' flatscreen plasma TV w/Sky Satellite TV and DVD, and comfortable seating areas to relax. The spacious and well ventilated laundry area offers a full size GE washer and Dryer, several lines to hang wet clothes, and large wash basin style double sink.
The bedroom area is separated from the social area by a Zen stone garden, which incorporates a giant "Yin Yang" symbol. The master bedroom has an oversized California King, wonderful views of the ocean and gardens, and is only steps to the Jacuzzi and pool area. The oversize master bathroom has 'his and hers' hand carved natural stone sinks with customs cedar cabinetry, and a spacious indoor/outdoor shower area which includes a stone tiled bench, double overhead Helvex Rain Showers, direct access to the jacuzziand pool areas and magnificent sunset views. The second and third bedrooms have ample closet space and share a beautiful and spacious travertine marble bathroom which has a pleasant cross ventilation from all four windows. The separate sink, shower and toilet areas provide space and harmony to this wonderful design, accented with a hand carved limestone Buddha from Java. The hand carved above counter natural stone sink and stainless steel Helvex fixtures complete of these wonderfully spacious bathrooms. Each bedroom has a separate 18,000 btu LG Art Cool A/C unit with remote control, Columbia stione floors and is screened for your comfort and convenience. Casa Yin Yang is also "Kid Friendly". My Dad was an executive w/Sheraton & Omni hotels, so I grew up in & @ the hospitality business. I first came to CR, in '96 to guide the Pacuare river with Rios Tropicals, while on summer break from grad school.
I quickly fell in love with CR & came back every summer since. In 2000 I moved to CR for a year & began "The Search". In 2002 I was able to transition back to CR full time & purchased this magnificent beachfront parcel in '03 w/the sale of my Aspen property. I am an ex-Aspen, Colorado foreign language teacher, who is actively involved as a volunteer at the local public school. I have dedicated my full time efforts to developing and running a first class beach home rental operation, where people can come and relax, renew and enjoy one of the prettiest beaches in anywhere in the world...Santa Teresa, CR. Mariposa Vacation Homes, is the result of many years of dedicated work to achieve that goal.

Our family rented Casa Ying Yang over the 09 Christmas season. This is a magnficent house with great direct beach views and access perfectly situated on the main surf beach. The house facilities are impressive with well appointed bedrooms, indoor area , kitchen and outside living area with plenty of shade and a nice pool. This is certainly a world class beach home for a family looking to enjoy a great beach vacation.

Casa Yin Yang was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. The wonderful ambiance of the home played an integral part in helping my family to achieve the relaxation and escape we desired on our vacation. Stefan and Nicole were very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Yin Yang.

We have been going to Hawaii for around 20+ years now. We used to love the beautiful beaches, gorgeous natural beauty and aloha spirit. Now we are so glad we found Santa Teresa because it is the old Hawaii we used to love, undeveloped, uncrowded with pristine natural beauty. The beach & layout of Casa Yin is as nice as anywhere we've seen. For us it's nicer, cheaper, more convenient & much more fun. It's nice to know that the aloha spirit lives on the the PuraVida we experienced in Costa Rica.

I stayed three days in this amazing private tropical cottage styled house right in front of the beach and it really was the best. The house has all facilities you can ask for, it’s very tastefully decorated and you actually get the feeling that you are inside a premium lifestyle magazine. The house is perfect for 2 couples, a family or as the ultimate honey moon retreat.Stefan & Nicole is a very charming couple. They were super sweet hosts that gave a top not notch service from the very beginning. The place and the surroundings of beautiful Santa Theresa was an extraordinary experience and I'm sure I'll be returning next year.Thanks Stefan and Nicole and hasta la proxima! Luxury, oceanfront accommodations for a great value. The exterior rooms - living and dining room, pool, hot tub and hammocks offered a peaceful serenity every day, all steps away from the beach. The sunsets were amazing every afternoon. You can walk to many shops and restaurants or stay tucked away in this amazin oasis. We went surfing, fishing, zip lining, exploring other beaches and found this is the perfect place to be.

Casa Ying Yang was one of most beautiful settings one could desire. The beach is only steps away that offered some of the most incredible sunsets ever experienced. Nicole & Stefan, Thanks for everything. We all had a great time. The Private Chef was over the top. It was the first time I ever ate 2 lobster meals in one day. The house is better than the pictures show. Super comfortable and surprisingly luxurious. I already miss my naps in the hammock listening to the waves. And your beach is one of the BEST in the world. Can't wait to come back and see another sunset. It all was smooth. From the ATV riding on along the coast to the visit to that insane Spa. Can't wait for my next visit. Pura Vida!

The private chef and housekeeping service allowed my family the luxury of indulgence and relaxation. We have just arrived home after spending two very relaxing weeks at Casa Yin Yang. From the time we arrived past the front gates we knew we had found a very special place. The gardens are lush, the trees are full of songbirds, you can both hear and see the ocean waves from every part of the house. My favourite was, from the big open window in the kitchen, I could see my kids surfing!!! The beaches are not crowded and are perfect for walking, which we did everyday, early morning and evening for the sunset. We were pleasently surprised at the amount of great restaurants to choose from in the area. The house comes with a book full of ideas of what and where to go, and there is lots of action if you choose, but the truth is we loved the house and location so much we stayed put most of the time. We have rented villas all over the world and Casa Yin Yang is now on favourites list. Thank you Nicole and Stefan for sharing your slice of paradise. We shall return.
