ISLAND GETAWAY
The summer has been taken, so consider the fall!
Drive across a birch lined causeway and you will find this spacious island lake house in Barrington, NH, just 70 miles north of Boston. Walk through the front door and be greeted with sun filled rooms, cathedral ceilings, and spectacular lake views. Private and peaceful this 2 bedroom/2.5 bath is situated on a half acre property complete with 180 feet of water frontage. Sleeping 4-6 comfortably, you will never want to leave.
Read underneath a canopy of trees, swim off the dock into cool clear waters, or kayak this 3.5 mile lake. Then dine on the deck or patio area, listen to the sound of loons, and watch one of the best sunsets you have ever seen!
The first floor includes large eat-in kitchen, complete with new stainless steel appliances. Microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, and more are all available for your cooking convenience. An open concept best describes the LR/DR area. Designed for full appreciation of Swains Lake the picture windows offer spectacular views, from sunrise to sunset. Take your coffee and binoculars, sit on the private upper deck and watch for wildlife along the opposite shores where you will find acres of conservation land. Retire to the master bedroom and half bath, sleep comfortably on the new California king mattress. Included on the first floor is a full bath and laundry room with W/D.
Downstairs (ground floor) you will find the second bedroom with double bed, full bath, large family room with 2 twin beds at the far end. Fieldstone hearth and chimney support a wood stove on both floors. Lower deck/porch is accessible from the ground floor and leads you out to 180 FT of shoreline. There you will enjoy a shallow sandy beach, boat ramp, and dock. Both decks and patio areas are furnished with comfortable seating/tables. All beds have pillows and blankets, linens supplied for California King bed. You will need to supply your own towels and linens for additional bedding. Sorry, no cats or children under the age of nine years old. Well mannered dogs are welcome with a higher security deposit. Have a question? Please let us know. Rain or shine there is plenty to do in this seacoast region. Portsmouth is just 17 miles away with its nearby beaches, deep sea fishing, and cultural events. The National Trust For Historic Preservation just honored Portsmouth for their "commitment to historic preservation and community revitalization". There are only 12 honorees recognized nationally.
Fish and swim, boat and golf, shop and sun...a week will never be enough! |
