Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2008

The Boise Guest House is owned and operated by the Bergren family, who purchased the historic home in 2007. Eve-Marie Bergren is the Operations Manager and a property manager. After attaining an MFA and teaching visual art for a number of years, she transitioned into real estate. Her artistic background helped her transform the Boise Guest House from a sagging piece of history into a contemporary boutique accommodation. She loves Boise and is very active at her daughter's school and in the community at large.

Eve-Marie is available to her guests 24/7 and just lives down the street! The Bergren's hope you enjoy your stay and come back again!

Why the Owner Chose Boise

Downtown Boise is *incredible*! Its hard to think about living anywhere else. After a guest suggested I write a list of 100 things to do in Boise, I just couldn't believe the access we have to amazing events, things to do and of course, the lifestyle! The Boise Guest House was initially just an old apartment house, but the location and the charm just made it irresistible for its potential!

The Unique Benefits of this Hotel

We now have bikes to rent for our visitor's enjoyment. Check out the farmer's market on Saturdays, North End Camel's Back Park or the Greenbelt.

You will enjoy walking in the foothills, visiting the local coffeeshops, shops and restaurants in BoDo and the surrounding area, and of course, the Boise Co-op, a gourmet grocery store only 3 blocks away! We are very close to three hospitals, the US Federal Building and the Legislative Offices (and renovating State Capital) so business travellers like to stay with us as well.

We love the fact our property suites have kitchens, as the Bergren's are all famously good cooks. The grounds are also well-kept and the backyard is such an added bonus for a barbecue or a quiet reading spot.

Charm, charm, charm!

Loved our stay...10,000 times better than staying in a hotel!! Beautiful house, stylish decor, so many artistic and clever touches. Felt like being at a friend's home, only better. Amazing location just blocks from the Boise Co-op and the downtown hub. Easy (and free!) parking just steps from our door. Eve responded immediately to all our questions and needs. Have already been recommending it to friends. We definitely will come again!

We stayed three nights at the Boise Guest House and found it to be super clean, very nicely decorated, and a pleasant place to stay. Convenient parking and great location. Walked downtown for dinner and just to walk. Pretty area near Capitol building, park, Flying M coffee shop (yum). Eve-Marie was very responsive, both to phone and email. If our son picks Boise State, we will be back!

A new way of lodging

Guest: teddy (Caldwell)
Date of Stay: 06/20/11 Review Submitted: 07/17/11

My stay at the boise guest house allowed me to see lodging in a whole new way. Breaking the mold of hotels being either overly sophisticated or far below par, the Guest house allows its visitors to enjoy the best of both worlds. The service is world class, with the streamlined 'self check-in' process visitors can forgo the eccentricities of hotel counter staff; the setting is extremely beautiful with it's antique appeal and prime location. The in-room kitchen and bath give you the luxury of reclusion and this will only last so long as you are in the middle of downtown with the capital right down the block. I was given a night at the guest house as a gift but will happily pay for another night in that setting, it truly is a reinvention of the possibilities in lodging.

Home away from home

Date of Stay: 07/13/10 Review Submitted: 07/17/11

My boyfriend and I, got a room at The Boise Guest House gifted to us. We saw it as an opportunity to enjoy a night in the wonderful city of Boise. Being from here in the tresure valley, The Boise Guest House's ability to be a home away from home was particularly important to us as we do not enjoy the commercial apeal of hotels. The room we stayed in was very cozy and had a wonderfull set up for us to cook our own dinner. Close by was The Boise Co- op, where we rode the bikes we rented from the guest house. We had a beautiful time picking out organic food and preparing our dinner in our room. We enjoyed a wonderfull evening riding around on our matching red bikes ( which we got tons of compliments on). The perfect combination of location, patina, and sheer convience make the Boise Guest House a great option for lodging in the city of trees.
