This private, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2-car garage house sits directly on the sand dune overlooking the beach with unobstructed views. This is a premiere Ormond Beach oceanfront location with nothing but expensive homes on this 2 mile long section of the beach. There are no nearby condos to interfere with stargazing at night. Across the street is a private golf course. The limited public beach access points north and south afford a great deal of privacy. Picture yourself having a cup of coffee in the morning on the back patio catching the sunrise off the ocean watching dolphins play and you might even see northern right whales and humpback whales offshore during migration seasons. The moonrises off the ocean are even more spectacular, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine sitting in your own 5-person hot tub outside. Access the beach via your own private dune walkover with its own private sitting area and freshwater shower. Take long walks on the beach without having to worry about cars driving on this “no drive” section of beach to endanger your family. Try your hand at boogey boarding in the waves or try fishing in the surf.
The house is next door to the owners mansion who keep the house well maintained. The house has plenty of room to spread out (2,413 square feet of AC) with a high definition TV in the living room with surround sound and also a large family room with its own TV, ping pong table and foosball. The main bedroom overlooks the beach and has a queen size bed and a large TV. The second front bedroom has a queen sized bed. The back bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a futon couch that folds out into an additional bed. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen is good-sized and fully equipped. The adjacent dining room table has a large oak table with 8 chairs.
Barbecue on the patio or take your pick at multiple nearby restaurants. A local favorite is a beautiful scenic drive north along A1A to Hightides- Snack Jack, a casual restaurant directly overhanging the beach with local seafood. Take a drive along the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop & Trail, a 30 mile double loop of roadways traversing some of the most beautiful and diverse natural scenery remaining in northeast Florida. The roadway view includes unobstructed vistas of two rivers, creeks and marshes, barrier island dunes and beach, and historic dwellings. Visit nearby Bulow Creek State Park and see the Fairchild Oak, one of the largest live oak trees in the South over 400 years old. Rent canoes or kayaks at Tomoka State Park and see some old Florida. Recreational opportunities abound with numerous parks and trails offering boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, bicycling, beach walking and much more. Vast expanses of water and natural Florida scrub vegetation create beautiful scenic vistas waiting to be photographed. Less than 2 miles away is The Casements—the historic former winter home of John D. Rockefeller which is open to the public. For a trip to the past, as you drive north visit Washington Oaks Gardens State Park consists of 425 acres of coastal scenery extending from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. Further north is Matanzas Inlet and Fort Matanzas constructed in 1740 with ferry rides daily. Beyond this is St. Augustine established by the Spanish in 1565. Construction of the oldest masonry fort in the US, Castillo de San Marcos, began in 1672. Going south, 12 miles south of Daytona Beach is the the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station built when the area was known as Mosquito Inlet. Completed in 1887 and fully restored, the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and the second tallest masonry lighthouse in the nation. Visitors can climb 203 steps to the top of the 175 foot tower and enjoy magnificent views of the World's Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, and surrounding inland waterways from the lighthouse gallery deck. The lighthouse keepers' dwellings and other historic light station buildings are now home to a lighthouse museum including one of the finest collections of restored Fresnel lenses in the world. Nearby is the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Point Park, 52 acres of pristine land on the north side of Ponce DeLeon Inlet. It has an extremely wide beach and extensive dune field considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. Fishing is very good on the jetty, and the area is also popular with surfers.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1996

Living on the beach was always a dream of mine. When i get off work as a busy cardiologist, the beach melts my stress away. It is incredibly peaceful living here. Ormond Beach has all of the amenities of a small city but there is an abundance of nature I enjoy including running on the beach, kayaking in the ocean and Tomoka river, fishing and mountain biking (yes I know there are no mountains in Florida but there are multiple scenic bike trails with varying levels of difficulty). This a great place to raise my family.

Why the Owner Chose Ormond Beach

I bought my first house on this beach in 1995 and when the house next door went for sale in 1996 it was a once-in-lifetime opportunity. I have it fixed up real nice because I also use it to put up my family when they visit.

The Unique Benefits of this House

There is nothing more spectacular than the sunrises or moonrises off the ocean. I've seen giant sea turtles lay their eggs. Dolphin are plentiful but I've also seen northern right whales and humback whales. It is so peaceful here it seems like a desert island at times.

My friends have stayed at this home for two years in a row and plan on reserving it for our annual trip again. The owners are great. The house is right on the beach with a great view and a nice hot tub. The house has everything you will need.
