Great location

The apartment is in a very good location and walking distance to all the sights. Emanuel is a very good host and accommodated our late arrival and departure. The airport transfer he arranged for 5 people was excellent - Mercedes minibus - the driver waiting for you at arrivals with your name. Includes linen, towels and cleaning. Free Wifi. Perfect if you want something in the old town close to everything.

Rome Trip

Emanuele was great. He was helpful and great to work with. He even walked us to the busstop so we would be able to get to the train station easily. The apartment location was AWESOME! The pluses are convenience, 3 separate bedrooms and a sitting room. The minuses are three flights up, uncomfortable kitchen chairs, and one bathroom. For my family of four it was great to have an apartment to relax in after our long days of touring. I would recommend this apartment. Emanuele showed us the apartment across the hall as we left since it was unoccupied. It was really nice and a bit more updated. What a perfect situation for two families traveling together to rent the two apartments! Also- Emanuele's recommendation for Chiara as a tour guide was terrific. She is wonderful, organized, energetic and made our trip!

Worked great for us

Date of Stay: 05/25/11 Review Submitted: 10/02/11

The property is simple yet clean and well kept. It was a great option for our family of four to have space to spread out and separate rooms for the two young children. The beds were comfortable and everything worked pretty well. It is definitely not luxurious, but everything was exactly as described. The neighborhood and proximity to sights were fantastic. The main negative was the sewage odor which often came from the bathroom (which probably can't be prevented given the age/location of the building, and I've experiened this in hotels as well). Also the wireless wasn't great - you had to sit near the unit to get a connection, probably due to thick walls. Being a third floor walk up was not so convenient either (esp with the strollers), but we knew this going in so were prepared. It was worth that minor inconvenience. All-in-all it was a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Central and convenient

Guest: Kidas (London, UK)
Date of Stay: 02/19/11 Review Submitted: 03/12/11

It's all good! Spacious; centrallly located; good internet; good value. What more can you ask? Our hosts were attentive and courteous and found a solution for a late flight back to the UK, even though the apartment was let from the afternoon. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Good bus services down to the main sights, though the apartment is within easy walking distance of the Castel sant'Angelo and the Vatican. The apartment is slightly tired aound the edges and the kitchen is less than modern, but has a charm about it and is more than adequately equipped for preparing coffee, salads, pasta, cold meals and eating bought-in Pizza or other take-aways. The apartment is on the third floor, so we had some good exercise climbing the steps up to the apartment, we well as up to the Cupola in St Peter's and the steps up to the Colosseo and the Spanish Steps and the steps up to ... I forget already. Our family of 4 (2 + 2 tenagers) would definitely return to Casa Antiqua, if we wanted to visit Rome again -- and yes, we did throw the coins in the Trevi to ensure our return...

My family of five just returned from our first trip to Italy. This apartment was better than described, and much larger than I expected. Centrally located, within walking distance of most major sites. My only complaint was that the TV wasn't set-up and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work - of course who needs TV when you're on vacation in Rome?

Hi, what should I write? The apartment is wonderful. It is big enough for four to six people (we are four family members) and has all the equipment to feel very comfortable (we stayed seven days). If Emanuele fix the coffee machine (it seems to be calcified) and the toilet (currently - October 2009 - it leaks some water), the apartment gets a ten out of ten. ;-) Most attractions of this great city are within easy walking distance (at most all of Vatican). Even a tour to Tivoli on a Sunday (no trains on Sunday) is easy arangeable with buses, because a lot (!) of bus lines have stops in a walking distance of three minutes. For people who like to cook for themselves (we do) all necessary shops (e. g. supermarket) are nearby (e. g. on the other side of the street). Last but not least, I must write, that Emanuele is very (!) helpful: For example he printed out our voucher for the Vatican museums, so that we don't had to wait in a loooong queue on a rainy day. Thanks again for that, Emanuele! After all, we can recommend this apartment! Kind regards, Thomas

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Antiqua in Rome. The 3BR/1BA Antica unit was exactly as pictured and described. The location could not have been better, and our family of 5 (6 including Grandma!) was very comfortable and relaxed - and was able to walk to every Rome location, including the Roman Forum and Colisseum. The public bus lines are a short distance away, and the neighboring businesses (panini shop, restaurants, and GELATO - critically important, of course) were very close and also filled with very friendly, helpful people. I would not hesitate to return to Casa Antica and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable - no, DELIGHTFUL - place to stay in Rome.

We stayed in the Antiqua apt in June of 2009. We utilized the 3BR and 1 bath unit. Our family of 5 truly enjoyed the layout having enough space. Although we didn't eat in much, having the kitchen for breakfast and snacks was great. The location is superb, only minutes from most/all major attractions. We walked everywhere very comfortably. Also, we enjoyed the immediate area with it's options for groceries, restaurants and bars. Emanuele was a great host and resource, arranged our transportation to and from the airport (even a 4am departure); and made sure we felt comfortable with everything and that he was available if we had any questions. We had a wonderful vacation and the accomodations were a big part of that.

We stayed at this apartment for three nights prior to a cruise out of Rome. The location is excellent - what a GREAT find! Convenient to the Vatican, and everything within walking distance. We enjoyed the local pizzerias and gelato. Located in quiet & peaceful neighborhood with shopping, attractions, entertainment and restaurants near by. Everything we needed was there in the apartment including tourist maps. Emanuele was wonderful and helpful. He made it so easy and was helpful with suggestions of things to do and even arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport - what a blessing! We highly recommend this apartment for anyone travelling to Rome. Just practice on the stairmaster for a couple of weeks before! Thanks again!

We stayed in the Antiqua apartment over New Year's - it was a wonderful stay. The apartment is very well equipped and was simply lovely. Our group consisted of two couples and one single person - it met our needs perfectly. The kitchen was fantastic - it had everything we needed. The location was perfect - steps to Piazza Navona, the Vatican, great restaurants, etc. Highly recommended!

My family and I stayed in one of the apartments over Christmas 2008. My brother and his son stayed in a smaller apartment above us owned by the same people. It is run by Emanuele Buffa whose family owns three apartments in the building. You could not ask for a better location. Right across the bridge from the Vatican, down the street from Piazza Navona, lots of good but reasonable restaurants. We walked every where and saw everything. There were 5 of us and it was much easier than staying in an apartment. We cooked dinner for 7 quite easily. The kitchen is well equipped. The upstairs apartment has a small washing machine altho it lacks a full kitchen - still a good place for a couple. The owners are very hospitable. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
