Amour Cottage is a peaceful private getaway just minutes from the historic Sonoma Plaza. It is the perfect vacation rental when visiting Sonoma. This cozy, serene, and delightfully comfortable house can accommodate up to seven guests.
Amour Cottage is decorated in warm and bright tones overlooking the sunny front garden and an enclosed French-feeling, shady courtyard with a wooden two-person swing. Just off the living room is a private, sunny back deck with table, views to the hills, and a shady back garden.
The cozy kitchen is equipped with a refurbished 1940's stove and built-in oak breakfast nook. In the living room there are hardwood floors and a romantic wood-burning fireplace. There is a queen-size Select Comfort airbed in the master bedroom, a separate guest bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a double bed in the living room. There are 1.5 baths: a half bath behind the kitchen, and full bathroom with tub/ shower in the master bedroom. There is a utility room with washer and dryer. In addition, we supply towels, plush robes, Egyptian cotton sheets, pillows and blankets, cookware, dinnerware, and snacks.
Amour Cottage, in the heart of Sonoma Valley is within minutes of wineries, fine food, art, music, theater, spas, shops, state parks, Jack London’s home, Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway, golf courses, horseback riding, balloon flights, biking and hiking, yet guests always comment that Amour Cottage is so incredibly quiet and relaxing. Amour Cottage is located only 45 miles north of San Francisco, 45 minutes to the beach or the redwoods.
Neighborhood
The quaint rustic neighborhood of Boyes Hot Springs is nice for a five-minute walk down to the Barking Dog Café at the end of Vallejo Street. If you favor a longer walk to the historic town square of Sonoma, use the walking/biking trail that starts on Hwy 12 across from the Breakaway Cafe. Sonoma, five minutes by car, boasts fabulous and varied restaurants, an old movie theater, sidewalk cafes on the square, cheese makers, interesting unique stores and always something interesting going on, such as art fairs, live bands, fiestas, film and music festivals, and outdoor theater. Glen Ellen two miles north, is home to the famous Jack London State Park, and also has wonderful restaurants and shops.

I founded and ran an intensive French language summer camp in the high Sierras after teaching in France and studying mime with Marcel Marceau.
