The second bedroom is available but we are doing very minor renovations so we are renting Bonita Terrace as a one bedroom until renovations are complete, although we can accommodate requests to use the second bedroom for an additional nightly charge and higher cleaning fee. (plus $20/night and an additional $25 cleaning fee)
Please note that for July and August we do have a 3 night minimum, and our peak and holiday rates do apply.
Bonita Terrace Getaway is a wonderful and relaxing getaway only 1.5 hours from San Francisco. Located above the Russian River in the Monte Rio Terraces, and surrounded by redwoods in a peaceful, private setting, we welcome both well behaved dogs and children. Monte Rio beach is just minutes from the house, and has a large beach area where dogs are welcome. We have sleeping arrangements for 2 adults and 1 dog (pack n plays also available).

--a large, fully stocked and renovated kitchen with hardwood floors

--for babies we supply 1 highchair, wipe warmer, bottle warmer, fisher price swing, baby monitor, (great for using while you are in the hot tub), and 2 pack and plays
--for children, we supply sippy cups, plastic cups, bowls, plates, kid friendly utensils and some toys
--for grown ups we have WIFI, a DVD player, and a Rio stereo system, and cable TV
Monte Rio is about 5 minutes from Guerneville, and about 15 minutes from Occidental, about 25 minutes from Sebastapol. Both a spa and wonderful bakery are located in nearby Freestone (Osmosis Spa and Wildflower Bakery). In addition, we are only 10 minutes to the ocean and the quaint town of Jenner. Wineries surround the area, including the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Healdburg and the Dry Creek Valley. You can enjoy hiking and horse back riding in Armstrong Woods State Park, and golfing under the Redwoods at Northwood Golf Course.

We are San Francisco residents who have had family homes in the Russian River area since the 1940s. The Russian River area is great in winter with a cozy fire to enjoy the woods, and even better in the Spring and Summer when you can enjoy a day at the river either swimming, canoeing, kayaking or just relaxing and enjoying the sun!
Why the Owner Chose Monte Rio
We love all the activities in the Russian River area--biking, canoeing, kayaking and wine tasting. There are many regional parks, we are a short drive to the Pacific Ocean and Jenner, and also a short drive to Sebastapol, Bodega, Freestone and the rest of Sonoma County including Dry Creek, Healdsburg and points beyond. Don't forget the beautiful redwoods, our cabin is located at the top of the Monte Rio Terraces surrounded by redwoods, but still a short drive to Monte Rio beach.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We are close to numerous wineries, and a short drive down to one of the best beaches in the area--Monte Rio beach. You can put your boat or canoe right in at the beach, or just enjoy a lazy day on the river with a picnic or lunch purchased from the Monte Rio concession stand. You can also rent kayaks and canoes from the concession stand right on the beach. We have a large lovely deck that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while you grill dinner, and a hot tub set in the woods that seats 4 -5 people.

We arrived and instantly fell in love with this place. It is beautiful and all the extra details put into this place make it truly special. We went hiking at Armstrong State Redwood Reserve, it was beautiful and can't wait to go again! We loved this place and can't wait to return for a relaxing weekend!

This is our second visit to your charming cabin. As with everyone else, the drive up those hills and curvy roads is an adventure of its own. The setting of the cabin is breathtaking. The romantic atmosphere is just what we were looking for and we absolutely fell in love with this place. We made this trip all the way from Florida, and we hope to make this little cabin a yearly tradition. Thank you for a great, relaxing vacation!

We were here for our first wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful place to celebrate! Quiet and relaxing. Mostly we stayed here, enjoying the fireplace, hot tub and wonderful deck. We have rented homes before and were very appreciative that everything was clean and worked without hassle. Thanks for a wonderful weekend and we will recommend this home to our friends.
