Queen's gate

" We have returned home after a simply wonderful week in London. We loved the Queen’s Gate apartment. What a clever use of space! It was very comfortable for the two of us and we got the hang of the stairs right away. Your restaurant recommendations were great. We loved both Clark's and L'etranger...delicious dinners at both. We'd also like to recommend to you a shop for prepared food....Ottolenghi....on Holland Street right off of Kensington Church Street. I was given one of his cookbook

Queen's Gate Studio

Date of Stay: 08/15/11 Review Submitted: 09/07/11

"My 19 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Queen's Gate. We couldn't have stayed in a better location and the apartment was lovely. It had everything we needed and the booklet of information came in very handy. We tried many of the suggested restaurants and enjoyed all of them. We liked being able to walk out the door and walk in any direction to get to many restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions. We didn't make a lot of use of the kitchen but it was nice to have the facilities on the few days that we just wanted to grab a bite to eat between excursions. We highly recommend booking Lushi for your ride from the airport. It was nice to speak with a local upon arrival and he was very courteous and friendly. We hope to stay at the Queen's Gate again during our next visit to London."

London Perfect - Queen's Gate

"We were extremely pleased with the flat. The location was outstanding - close to the subway, stores, restaurants, parks and museums. The flat was beautifully decorated, very clean and had everything we needed including loads of information about London and our neighbourhood. My husband and I and our 12 year old daughter would definitely rent this flat again and we will most certainly recommend London Perfect to others traveling to London. I wish we had known about your rentals in Paris as the place we rented from another company was not nearly as nice as our Queen's Gate home."

"We enjoyed the Queens Gate apartment very much. It had everything we needed and was delightfully decorated. The stairs were a bit tricky, but other than that, it was great. Close to the tube and lots of places were within walking distance. Madelyn sent us tons of helpful information and we were able to use our iPad with the WiFi access. Loved it!"

"This is a lovely flat in a fantastic location. Two tube stops within extremely easy walking distance (< 5 min)and black cabs pass frequently. The loft is exactly as depicted on the website -- clean, compact, and perfect for a vacation stay. The linens are great (towels are John Lewis), and even shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer are supplied! Security is also good. I will definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to friends. I will also recommend Lushi\'s car service for transport to and from Heathrow -- how wonderful to be picked up at the door and not have to haul bags on a train!"

"Location: Excellent. Across from Natural History Museum and near V&A museum. Short walk to Harrods. Two tube stops nearby. Unlimited shops in neighborhood, from Boots to Waitrose. Lots of good restaurants close at hand. Apartment: exactly as pictured. Beautiful decor from paintings to "frescoes". First floor, street level, (not below). Bedroom: cozy, luxurious sheets and gorgeous duvet cover, very good reading lights. Kitchen: full range, oven, microwave, refrig, washing machine. Granite counter, sleek cabinets, 2 coffeepots (the espresso one was amazingly good..and we had just come from a few weeks in Rome so we knew what a good cup of espresso tasted like). Bathroom: spacious, well lit, plenty of counterspace and drawers, good water pressure. Entertainment: T.V. with multiple channels. Tons of London guide books and some great novels/mysteries. Information folder on how everything worked in the apartment and clear instructions for everything from trash disposal to where exactly to get more coffee pods for that great little espresson machine. Note: recommended driver also very nice, helpful and prompt. We can't wait to try one of the Paris Perfect apartments for our next big adventure!"

" Loved, loved, loved Queen’s Gate!! I was there by myself and felt soooo comfortable. Very nicely appointed kitchen. Lovely big bathroom. Super comfy bed with lovely linens. Yes, it’s a studio but the loft bedroom gives it more a one bedroom feel. Lots of tour books and resources on the bookshelf. Free wifi. Unbelievable neighborhood, just down from Kensington Gardens, about 10 minutes walk from Gloucester tube station (which is also on the Picadilly line with access to Heathrow). When I was planning this trip I looked at the rates I paid for the last couple of hotels I stayed at in London. Queen’s Gate was no more expensive for so much more!! My dealings with Philippe and Madelyn were very professional and all was as advertised. These are people who obviously care about their business and their guests. I would jump at the chance to stay there again!!"

" Although small, this immaculately clean and well-appointed apartment never felt cramped. Sleek, modern furniture and fixtures combine well with elegant ceiling and wall paintings in keeping with the building's refined history. Excellent neighborhood always felt safe. Inventive "pigeon" steps to loft bed might be ill-advised for a frail person but otherwise rather fun--even for this older couple. (There's a second, pull-out bed/couch on main floor for anyone who could not use the stairs.) Book containing instructions for appliances, suggestions for shopping in the area, and guidance on transportation most helpful. Welcome gift of wine quite nice, as was Madelyn's warm greeting on arrival. We would stay again!"

"We had a wonderful time in London, and the surrounding countryside. We took 2 day trips - to Stonehendge, Oxford, Bath, etc. We visited in mid July and the weather was wonderful, as well. The apartment was an excellent situation for us. The location was excellent - grocery store, busses, the tube, restaurants, museums were all very close by - and we were not in the middle of the mass of tourists over in the theater district - except for when we chose to be. It was very nice to feel part of the residential class rather than just a tourist in a hotel for the week." thank you for everything

"My husband and I stayed in the above mentioned apartment from May 30 to June 6, 2010. Getting there from Heathrow was very convenient and travelling around London on the tube was easy from the apartment. We found South Kensington to be a charming area and walked the area without worrying about security. The apartment itself had everything we needed and we would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to our friends."

"We stayed in Queensgate for our first stay in London. We could not believe how perfect it was. It is beautifully appointed and spotlessly cleaned. We loved the entire area and Phillip and Madelyn were perfect hosts. Lushi, their driver, is unbelievable and added to such a wonderful experience! I would wholeheartedly recommend them and this property."

"This is a tiny but charming studio/loft in a great location. It is elegantly furnished and comfy; way better than a hotel room, but not spacious. We really enjoyed our stay there."

"My mother (75), Aunt (80) and I (49) had a terrific one week stay at the Queensgate Apartment in February 2010. The location was ideal - so close to beautiful Kensington Gardens, the V&A Museum, the Gloucester tube station, the Kensington High Street. We got to know the neighbourhood and felt 100% safe the entire time. We used Lushi's drivers on three occasions and were very impressed with Lushi and his staff. Very professional and knowledgeable. Tillie showed us into the apartment upon our arrival from King's Cross Station and walked me to the local deli to get provisions for our first night and morning. The litttle touchs like the grocery cart, big umbrella, and great selection of guide books and DVDs are what sets this apartment apart. It truly felt like our home from the moment we arrived. It's a small flat but space is used very well and we had lots of room to hang and store our clothes and the three of us never felt crowded. The kitchen and bathroom have all the "mod cons" and the Victorian paintings on the ceiling are truly beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful experience in a magic city. I'd be pleased to recommend the Queensgate to anyone who wished to speak with me about my experience."

"My husband and I stayed in the Queensgate studio loftduring April of 2009. We found it to be perfect for our needs.First of all, the location can't be beat. It was a few blocksfrom the Gloucester tube station, which also has a Waitrosegrocery store, so we could easily grab food and bring it backto the apartment. Plus you can get pretty much anywhere from the Gloucester tube station. Also, it was only a couple blocks from Kensington Gardens, which are really beautiful. There are also lots of restaurantsaround, and the Science Museum and the V & A Museumare very close as well. It's a great neighborhood and it wasvery quiet and safe." 3/29/2010
