We have stayed in Watercolor and Seaside many times and this was, by far, our favorite home. The location is perfect, the boardwalk to the beach is basically next door. The owners are incredibly gracious and easy to work with and added many extra little touches...wine and cheese, coffee, juice and fresh cut flowers. The home is top notch in every way. Kitchen had everything we needed too. The view is absolutley breath taking...just look at all the pics and the video. We hope to return to this home very soon! Just don't hesitate in your booking...it'll be gone!

After 7 years of wonderful use by our clients we hve upgraded the soft goods and replaced with new fabrics; and outside twice annual handwashing of the cottage to keep that new pristine look that our wonderful guests deserve in a 6-Star vacation resort as the Veranda Cover Second Sandbar...65% of our guest each year are alumni return vacationers; we try very hard to meet their expectations, thanks for coming. My husband and I stayed at the wonderful Second Sandbar in early March of this year. We usually rent in the Caribbean but had decided this year to take a chance a little closer to home. We had never been to Seaside or Watercolor before. We were a little worried because we love the Islands so much but boy were we in for a surprise because we just loved this place. It was perfect. The owners are the best. They look great care of us. They even called a few times to check in on us to make sure we were enjoying our stay and that everything was great since there had been several very bad storms the week we stayed. The decor is so beautiful we love the theme and colors throughout. The layout worked great for us. We felt like we were at home. I remember driving up getting out and being so excited to be there. Love all the doors that lead to the second floor balcony. When open you can hear the sea. The Second Sandbar was so relaxing. Although we did eat out (Bud and Alley’s, The Southern Café, and Stinky’s) we also cooked quite a bit at the house. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need. We took advantage of visiting the Watercolor Beach Club one day, enjoyed the Watercolor Spa, went fishing in the lake biked around Seaside and Watercolor and explorer several of the other little communities off 30-A. The week we arrived Seaside they had their annual Seaside School 5K and Half Marathon. It was fun because we could watch all the ½ marathons go by from the windows on the second floor. We love Half Marathons and are excited to be able to make it back to Seaside come March 2012 to participate ourselves. We can’t wait until we can return and stay at The Second Sandbar one day.

Second Sandbar

Second Sandbar has become our new home away from home. The view is absolutely incredible and the home is beautiful. Everyone we've dealt with, from the owners to the cottage manager, have been amazingly friendly and helpful. We've visited the Destin area for years but Watercolor/Seaside can't be beat. We love the family friendly atmosphere and it's become a yearly ritual for us.

We've been vacationing on the gulf for many years and I KNOW we have never stayed in a home with a better view AND in a better location. This house is absolutely perfect. Each room in the house is so well done, no detail is missed. The entire house is amazing. We can't wait to go back!

Beautiful home on the gulf

My family and I enjoyed The Second Sandbar for a week this spring and absolutely loved it. We had all been to Seaside and Watercolor before but never stayed in such a beautiful beach home. The decor is fabulous and the layout was just perfect for our family. We've been home for one day and missed waking up to the view this morning.

A few years ago I saw the most beautiful cover on Veranda Magazine showcasing an oceanfront cottage in Watercolor. I loved it so much, I kept the magazine in case we ever built at the beach. That has not happened yet, but I was delighted to find it could be rented 2 years ago. This spectacular cottage is just as it was pictured. The color palette seems to merge with the waters of the Gulf and beautiful white beach. Second Sandbar was very clean and well maintained. If anything comes up, phone numbers are provided as well as how to get in contact w/ the owners. Our family has stayed in Seaside and other communities off of 30-A for 14+ years in many different cottages, but nothing compares with Second Sandbar. We have loved this area for many years and a summer visit has become a tradition. Our summer would not be complete without it. We love many of the local restaurants including Red Bar, 30-A, Fish Out Of Water and many others. There are so many local activities for families including the outdoor concert at Seaside. If you have children, both communities are very kid-friendly. Our three children grew up vacationing in this area and as adults they continue to join us every year. Just as important, the owners are a delight to deal with. When on vacation, I have always wanted to know that if something came up that there was someone to take care of the problem. This is certainly the case with Second Sandbar. Second Sandbar... Two thumbs up!

We stayed in this lovely home last year and had a wonderful time! It is perfection. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful in answering all of our questions. If you want a beautiful beach home to stay in, I highly recommend this place!!!!
