After your first visit, you will want to come back year after year. Located just 2 blocks from famous Moonlight Beach, enjoy a newly decorated 1 bedroom unit that has a private backyard, and large dedicated parking spot.

The entire retreat was completely remodeled last year from the studs up, with new appliances, queen sized bed, 37 inch flat screen TV, granite counter tops, DVR, and beautifully tiled shower. We have had great feedback, just check out the comments left by our guests.

Moonlight is one of the most popular beaches in North County San Diego, with facilities that include restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, fire pits, barbecues, beach rentals , children’s playground, and even a great snack bar! If you want a more secluded beach, just walk about 100 yards north or south!

Walk into downtown Old Encinitas which is just 3 blocks away and eat at one of the many great restaurants or shop at the small unique shops.

Sit on the private backyard and read a book surrounded by lush landscaping. The unit has complete set of dishes, linens, BBQ, cable TV, and CD-DVD player. Also has private washer and dryer.

There is a beautiful shower but no bath tub, so for small children, it may not be a great place.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1999

I have lived in the San Diego area for over 28 years. Graduated from Arizona State University with an Electrical Engineering degree, and from San Diego State in with a Masters in Business Administration. My wife and I both come from the New York/New Jersey area. Love to bike, play basketball, rollerblade, and take walks with our two Shi Tzu "children", Bailey and Bubba, who are shown in the picture. Love to talk to people, so don't hesitate to call if you have any questions. My wife and I really enjoy meeting new people but also respect visitor's privacy. Enjoy!

Why the Owner Chose Encinitas

I discovered Encinitas and just fell in love...its like being on vacation all the time. Encinitas has a small beach town atmosphere, people are very friendly, and it has the best beach around. Being able to walk into town to eat (just 3 blocks) and not having to get into a car is very convenient. We are located just 1/4 mile from the highway so getting around is very easy. Although the vacation rental is located on my property, it is very private and typically I don't see our renters for days on end.

The Unique Benefits of this Guest House

Taking our beach bikes on the beach during low tide is a special treat and I share this opportunity with everyone who stays with us.

    • I am pleased to write a positive review even though I had to cancel my trip with my dear dog. Warren could not have been more helpful in finding new renters to take up the weeks that I had to cancel. His willingless to re-list the property allowed me to recover my deposit. My lost vacation will be the gain of the new people who booked. I will miss my vacation and the chance to meet Warren and Meryl. Suzanne

    • As a former Californian whose adult kids still live in Orange County -trips between states are frequent, and I still have that need to get to the beach. I was thrilled to discover Warren and Meryl's darling guest house in Encinitas. (We stayed May 1,2) Everything they have done to the guest house is upscale and very tasteful. Everything you could want is provided. They also welcomed our 8 mo. old pup, Seamus....who loved the yard.We enjoyed morning and evening walks around the neighborhood and down to the beach. We made new friends at El Callejon, our favorite Mexican place in SD County. My goal is to come back to the guest house for a longer visit and not even move my car for days. This is the place you can do it! Thanks to Warren and Meryl for such a terrific place! We will be back.

    • We stayed for a long holiday weekend. This is truly a special and unique place just a short walk to the beach and with a lovely deck/outdoor space to enjoy. It has just been remodeled and everything lovely - better than my own home! :) We LOVED the beach cruisers and had a great time riding to the fantastic coffee shops in town and down to the beach. Warren and Meryl - the owners - were wonderful, gracious and accomodating -- I will definitely stay there again!

    • We spent a week in this apartment. It's an ideal place for a couple and a great value. As indicated, everything in the space is brand new and the quality of the remodel is first rate. The owners live upstairs and were readily available but not obtrusive. We'll definitely visit again.

    • This place is wonderful. Superbly decorated. The owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. Nothing is better than beginning your day with a short walk or bike ride to the beach or town. Our stay at Moonlight Beach was very enjoyable.

    • This place was very close to the beach, and many resteraunts. It is beautifully decorated. The owners of the house were very friedly and helpful. They printed local restaurants to eat at and whether they were any good. Very pleasant stay. Only drawback was not being able to stay longer.
