These are our two little darlings at our FAVORITE LAKE ANDREWS! So FUN for KIDS!

You and your whole family are going to LOVE being right there at Durango Mountain Resort!!! You walk about three minutes from our lovely get away place and YOU ARE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just adore this part of the country. Being at 8600 feet in the Rocky Mountains is Just Gorgeous. The alpine lakes and rivers offer hours of fun and entertainment. There is so much to see and explore!!! And Durango has so many amazingly good little restaurants! We go on day trips Ouray, hike in the woods and pick wildflowers with the kids. Each time we go we discover another little piece of paradise. We live full time a few blocks from the beach in Coronado, California, so my kids just have a blast when they get to go back to the mountains! Remember the book, Heidi? It is so true! That mountain air, sunshine and exercise... REALY ARE GOOD FOR YOU!!! ( I always feel great after a week or two up there.)
Our mountain place is very comfortable with 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. Ten people can sleep very comfortably here and we have a pack and play in case you have an adorable little baby. Each bedroom has its own TV and bathroom with heated floors. There is a beautiful, cozy big brick fireplace with a hearth and extreamly comfortable over stuffed leather sofa and chair. Every time I walk in the door, I just love it. So casual and comfortable, just a great place to relax with the kids and the family.
We recently remodeled the entire kitchen from the studs up and it turned out beautifully! New wide plank wooden floors, new appliances, custom cabinets and granite tile counter tops! I absolutely LOVE cooking. It is one of my many passions and Durango has all kinds of interesting places to shop for food. There is a great organic farm on the way up the mountain that has wonderful homemade cheeses and dairy products as well as super fresh home grown vegetables and delicious steaks. In the summer of 2008, they had an adorable pair of baby goats named Bert and Ernie! My two kids fell SO IN LOVE! I was thrilled because they could play with the goats for free while I shopped for dinner! Of course, WE HAD to stop and feed them each time we drove up the hill and I honestly think it was the high point of the whole trip for the kids.. I got the most adorable pictures. Baby goats are so much fun and there are never any on Coronado beach! :-)
Our townhome is just 25 steps from the ski slope of the Main Ski Lift. There are excellent mountain views from the dining room and living room. We have a full size laundry room so you don't have to pack too much.
We are located about a one hour drive from Durango's La Plata Airport and about 25 minutes from Downtown Durango. Our place is a super short walk to the main base lodge. We love walking to go out to dinner. In the summertime, the resort hosts the MUSIC IN THE MOUNTAINS, which is a wonderful huge white tent filled with world class musicians playing beautiful music in the evening. We take a delicious picnic and sit on the grass and listen for free! :-)

Durango Mountain Ski Resort has just completed a multi million dollar transformation of the main base and it is spectacular! There is also a mountain bike uplift, super fun alpine slide, miniature golf, hiking and lots of other fun things for kids and adults in the summer. The BEST part is walking about 3 or 4 minutes home after having fun at the resort with the kids! Most of the other people get in their cars and drive down the mountain! WHY LEAVE such a spectacular and entertaining setting?
We have also had excellent success fishing in the near by lakes which are just gorgeous. It is so pretty at Lake Andrews that some parts look like the Austrian Alps, where we honeymooned in 1998. My husbands family is originally from Finland and Austria and believe me it is much easier, quicker and less expensive to get here then there!!! However, I will tell you that the real Austria was probably one of the most incredibly clean and magnificently beautiful places I've ever been to in my whole life!
The wonderful people of Durango are so friendly. I now know why so many people end up making Durango their permanent home!
The Silverton narrow gauge train is a very scenic steam engine ride that the kids will just love!
River rafting in the summer is also a fun family activity. We love to buy innertubes from the tire store and float down the river, all tied up as a family! Good old fashioned river fun! The kids just crack up the whole way down and so do we!
Mountain hiking in the late spring and summertime is SPECTACULAR! You will not believe the amazing views and I can personally tell you that if you time it right, THE ENORMOUS FEILDS OF WILDFLOWERS AND COLUMBINE WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!! The first time I saw it, I cried...
Our home has one of the best locations on the mountain and is beautifully furnished. We kindly invite you to come and fall in love with Durango and relax in our comfortable little hide-away in the mountains! Our 4 bedroom town home awaits your arrival and PLEASE DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!

- We absolutely LOVE Durango! It is one of the best places for families. 4 bedrooms and 4 baths means there is plenty of room for everyone! We just rebuilt the entire kitchen from the studs up and it turned out GREAT. There are nice stainless steel appliances, a new wine cooler and a custom made ten foot long table in the middle of the kitchen. It is the wonderful having a table that seats ten people and the leather counter height chairs are so comfortable. We recently added a 42" Big Screen Cable TV and DVD/VCR in living room. Each bedroom has its own TV and bathroom with heated floors. There is a beautiful huge brick fireplace in the living room/kitchen and over stuffed leather sofa and chair. It is so comfortable that I never want to leave!!! :-) Bedroom #1. KING BED Bedroom #2. KING BED Bedroom #3. TWO QUEEN BEDS Bedroom #4. TWO TWIN BEDS There is also one pack and play for the baby! This is a really lovely place for any family to have a wonderful vacation together!
