You and your whole family are going to LOVE being right here at Durango Mountain Resort! The chair lift or all summer fun activities are less than a three-minute walk/ski.
Edelweiss #17, a premier ski-in-ski-out exclusive condominium complex, is located at the base of Lower Hades with easy access to the ski slope on skis! Our elevation is 8,900 ft. Alpine lakes, mountain hikes, snow shoeing abound in the immediate vicinity. It's a wonderful year-round family retreat.
Edelweiss #17 has four bedrooms and four full baths. Ten people can sleep very comfortably here - no sofa beds! - and it has a pack and play crib. Each bedroom has its own cable TV and bathroom with heated floors. There is a beautiful, cozy brick wood-burning fireplace with a hearth and extreamly comfortable over-stuffed leather sofa and chair.
Edelweiss is located on Sheol Street at Purgatory Ski Resort / Durango Mountain Resort. The condo is 25 steps from the ski slope. There are excellent mountain views from the dining room and living room windows. A full size laundry room is available so you don't have to pack too much.
The townhome is located about a one hour drive from Durango's La Plata Airport and about 25 minutes from Downtown Durango and is a super short walk to the main base lodge. In the summertime, the resort hosts the MUSIC IN THE MOUNTAINS, which is a wonderful huge white tent filled with world class musicians playing beautiful music in the evening. You can take a delicious picnic and sit on the grass and listen for free!
Durango Mountain Ski Resort has just completed a multi-million dollar transformation of the main base and it is spectacular! There is also a mountain bike uplift, super fun alpine slide, miniature golf, hiking and lots of other fun things for kids and adults in the summer.
We have also had excellent success fishing in the near by lakes which are just gorgeous. It is so pretty at Lake Andrews - 10 miles north from us just off U.S. Hwy 550.
The wonderful people of Durango are so friendly. No wonder why people end up making Durango their permanent home!
The Silverton narrow gauge train is a very scenic steam engine ride that kids will enjoy. River rafting in the summer is also a fun family activity. Silverton is 20 miles north over two breathtaking mountain passes. Google Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Mountain hiking in the late spring and summertime is SPECTACULAR! You will not believe the amazing views and if you time it right, THE ENORMOUS FEILDS OF WILDFLOWERS AND COLUMBINE WILL AMAZE YOU! CONDO LAYOUT:
Main floor may be accessed from the west side of the complex with only three steps. Main floor consists of a master bedroom with king-size bed, cable TV, amoire and full-sized closet and shared full bath. The kitchen and open living area are on the main floor as well as a beautiful deck overlooking 13,000 and 14,000 ft mountain peaks. Propane-fired BBQ grill is on the deck.
Top floor - 15 steps - will bring you to the master suite with a king-size bed, full private bath, three small close cabinets and a full-sized closet, computer, fax, cable TV. Secure wifi internet is included. The second bedroom on the top floor has two twin beds, armoire, full-size closet shared with hot water heater, full private bath and cable TV.
The bottom floor can be accessed from the east side of the complex from the carport by three steps. It consists of a large bedroom with two queen beds, armoire, half closet and a full private bath and cable TV. The laundry room is located on this floor as well. There are 15 steps from this floor to the main floor of the condominium.
The complex has only 20 units. Most are privately-owned and are owner-use only. So, we have a quiet neighborhood and an intimate setting. Quiet time is from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. The atmosphere is friendly and safe.

I was actually snowed out of my house across the highway so stayed here at Edelweiss until I could get back into my place. It was great. I realized how convienent it is to be right on the ski slope with regular snow plowing and a carport for my vehicle. I holed up in the condo for a week waiting for my other place to get dug out! The kitchen is great and fully stocked. The beds were very comfortable. The linens are premium. I highly recommend this condo to any seniors still skiing. I'm 78. And, people with little kids for that matter. Makes everything so much easier.

I've been coming up here for years! We love this place. We can ski right to the condo and the views of the Needles are amazing. The condo has a nice, warm, cozy and slightly rustic ambiance about it. The kids loved it too. Very kid-friendly. I spend my birthday here every year, sit by the fire after a full day of skiing. It's the best. I highly recommend this property. The money we save driving up from town and going out to eat everynight is great. We ski and stay in. We love it.
