If you are looking for a big hotel or resort with tons of activities and amenities, this is not the place for you. However, If you are looking for a place to totally relax and chill out, then this is the place. Staying at Turtle Bay Condos feels like you are staying at the vacation home of a really good friend. The units are clean, comfortable and well furnished, with all of the linens, beach towels and kitchenware you could possibly need. The property is arranged in a row or four buildings, which run from the street to the bay. Each building has only two units - an upper and lower unit - which means the units have a lot of light with windows on four sides and also a good deal of privacy as you only have one neighbor. The beach is an easy walk across the street. Unfortunately, there was a very unusual weather system with cold, strong winds when my husband and I visited, which prevented us from spending much time at the beach. Luckily, Turtle Bay Condos has a lovely heated pool that was protected from the strong winds. The pool is not large, but it has a nice, well thought out design with comfortable loungers on the pool deck. We stayed in unit 3B, which has a view of the bay. We enjoyed sitting on the screened lanai, especially during a rainstorm and for our morning coffee. it was so....relaxing. We also spent some time sitting on the dock, which was.... relaxing. See a theme here? Some other guests were fishing when a manatee and her calf swam up to the dock. We would have loved to see them. Maybe next time. We did see sting rays, dolphins and tons of birds, including pelicans, from the dock. The location is great. There are a number of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. We also visited Stump Pass Beach State Park, which is very close, and saw eagles, turtles and dolphins during a walk down the nature trail. Despite the weather, we had a wonderful trip and can't wait to go back.

If you are looking for Taj Mahal, this isn't it! IF you are looking for a comfortable home away from home, look no further! Susan was the nicest and most accmodating person ever! The place was lovely, I felt very SAFE and comfortable during our stay. The beach access was mere steps away, the bay a delightful sight and the pool clean and fun! I was able to absolutely relax for the first time in eons, peace and serenity! My mother and I enjoyed a few days stay without worry! I can't wait until I tear myself away from work again and head back to this terrific spot! Room Tip: 3A was amazing! 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, amazing screened in porch, great views--PEACE!

I returned to the Turtle Bay condos for my second year, and have reserved again for next year. It's wonderful. Very quiet, and peaceful. My friend enjoyed the pool, and I loved the easy access to the beach. The owner lives in CA but almost instantaneously answers questions or provides help.

Another 5 Star Review Posted 3/28/12 on TripAdvisor by our Guest: I have been going to Turtle Bay for 5 years, and it never disappoints. Quiet, all amenities, including heated pool and dock for catching huge catfish. The herons, pelicans, egrets, ospreys, geckos, dolphins and occasional manatees are a joy to watch. Beach just across the street is great for shelling, clean and warm water. Watch the sunset on the beach and moonrise on the bay. On-site managers and Susan are very attentive to solv

Another 5 * review posted on Trip Advisor: My wife and I stayed for a fabulous week and loved every minute of it. The accommodations were exceptionally clean and very nice. Our condo was fully furnished – we didn’t even have to bring beach towels. The location is great – it takes about a minute to get to the beach right across the street. Even though we didn’t plan on cooking, we ended up barbecuing the few times we didn’t walk up the road to some really good restaurants. We can’t wait to return.

As Posted on FlipKey 11/28/11: For over 25 years I have been bringing my family from Wisconsin down to Florida for the week of Thanksgiving. We have stayed at many places over the years. However we just stayed at Turtle Bay Condos for the third time. We now just stay there. Because Turtle Bay Condos has everything we need. Pool on property, boat dock on property, the beach across the street as well as peace and quiet. The units are spacious, well kept, very clean and reflect pride of ownership. 5 star review as posted on TripAdvisor by our Guest: We first stumbled on Turtle Bay back in July when we were looking for a quick getaway where we could bring the boat. We stayed 2 nights and loved it! Manasota Key is quiet and perfect. Turtle Bay has the best of both worlds with boat docking, beach across the street, and a pool. We loved it and decided that we wanted to come back soon. Came back again this past weekend and it was even better. Perfect place and we can't wait to come back again! My hubby and I stayed at Turtle Bay Condos from 8/19-26/2011. We could not have asked for anything more. The pool, dock, grounds and condo were all very well maintained. We were in the pet unit and I could not believe there was no odor. There was plenty of everything; towels, linens and kitchen equipment. We took our boat and had no problem finding the public ramp.........thanks to the great directions provided by the owner. The dock is in tip top shape. We had been concerned about boarding the boat from the dock because ours is a fishing boat and lays lower in the water than a cabin cruiser. Even at low tide we didn't have a problem. This is the only place that we have vacationed that my husband felt totally relaxed and comfortable. That says a lot because he has a AAA+ type personality.:) I had occasion to contact the owner before our arrival of course and during our stay at Turtle Bay. The response time for ANY concern was ALWAYS addressed within minutes. Not something that you find very often. If the opportunity arises, we will stay at Turtle Bay without hesitation.

5 star review posted on TripAdvisor by our Guest: From our online contact via email to our online reservation and payment to checking in and then checking out, Susan completed these with excellent timing and ease! We stayed in the "pet friendly" Unit 1A and we were very pleased with not only the location but all amenities. We especially liked having a washer and dryer and no cleaning fee! A priority for us is good air conditioning and comfortable sleeping quarters; this condo met that requirement with no problem. We love Manasota Key and Englewood Beach so we will be planning return visits to this unit in Turtle Bay. Stayed August 2011, traveled with family

"Another fabulous week at Turtle Bay Condos" This was our fifth stay at Turtle Bay Condos and once again the experience was very pleasurable. Turtle Bay is a little oasis. There are only 8 units so you feel like you are in your very own home. The condos are spotless and well equipped with everything you need for your beach vacation. The pool is always clean and it's heated in the winter. The landscaping is very tropical. There is a lovely dock area, with room for docking your boat. This trip we saw dolphin and manatees right from the dock. The fishing in the area is wonderful and we caught a ton of trout, snapper, snook and redfish. We were sad to leave and can't wait to back for another visit. Susan McQuaid, the owner, is so efficient and couldn't be more pleasant.

A good time was had by all. There was plenty to do, between the beach and pool and fishing off the dock. We were there over 4th of July and saw the most wonderful fire works from the beach. The condo was very well equipped and comfortable. Resturants were close by as well as shopping. Will definitly go again.

Staying at Turtle Bay we could sit on our screened-in porch and watch the sunrise over Lemon Bay and then walk across the street each evening to enjoy an equally beautiful sunset over the Gulf. This was the cleanest, most well equiped vacation rental in which we have ever stayed. The landscaping is as lovely as the rooms, which adds to the feeling of privacy one enjoys here, away from the beach crowds and high rise condos, yet just a short walk to the Gulf when you want to enjoy the beach. The dock provides a wonderful place for birdwatching, fishing, and of course docking your boat. Other residents enjoyed the well maintained pool and kids could leave their pool toys poolside over night, ready for the next day. Turtle Bay will always be our place to stay when enjoying the Englewood, Florida area.

What a wonderful place. Beach on one side and Lemon Bay on the other. Suzan was very easy to work with. House was clean and in a perfect location. Beach wasn't crowded and the water was crystal clear. What a perfect vacation spot. My kids loved the pool and beach and I loved being able to fish. Stump pass is less than 10 minutes away.

This condo is located in a great spot. It is a short walk to the bay where there is a dock for fishing or sitting looking at the wildlife and fish (we saw dolphins, manatees, several different species of birds, and many different types of fish were caught off the dock). Walking the other direction is the Gulf of Mexico. Both walks take five minutes or less. It is also a short walk towards the little town to a couple restaurants (Geraldi's for pizza is a must and The Lock and Key is a great place for dinner) and the city park, where my husband and son played basketball every morning. We took our bikes and used them more than the car to get around the island. The condo had everything we needed so that we could enjoy a relaxing, tropical vacation. This is a place that we will recommend to others headed in that direction.

With all the excellent reviews we read prior to our arrival we set our expectations high and we were not to be disappointed. Not only were our expectations met, they were exceeded. More importantly, that feeling lasted throughout our entire stay. The owners are extremely conscientious about quality service and detail. Our condo was clean, bright and well appointed, furthermore it included everything we needed and more to make our visit comfortable. The pool was wonderful and attended to daily, the grounds were maintained to perfection. The complex is located within a few walking minutes from several eating establishments, a convenience store, a public park and of course the beach. We are already booked for next year.

As Posted on TripAdvisor 1/19/11 - 5 Star Rating by a Return Guest from New York: Turtle Bay Condos was again a winner in rest, relaxation, accommodation and service. The owner(s) were most kind in setting up a broken schedule for our stay as we traveled across Southwest Florida and managed to stay twice in Manasota Key before heading north to the winter area. The owners were most concerned with our relaxing stay and contacted us via e-mail and telephone to check on our status as satisfied guests. They are open to suggestions and/or comments concerning the condos and are dedicated to keeping their guests happy. This is our second visit in two years and we're planning on our return again in Dec/Jan of next season.

Turtle Bay Condos on Manasota Key was again another winner in accommodations, weather, relaxation and service. The owner(s) were most kind in setting up broken dates for us as we were spending some time in Southwest Florida in various areas but we had to return to Englewood and the Venice area before our month in the south was over. The owner(s) are most particular to providing a most relaxing vacation and checking via e-mail or phone as to our status as satisfied guests. They are always open to suggestions if there is need to suggest, request or comment on the condo itself. As Posted on TripAdvisor: Our recent two weeks at Turtle Bay Condos was the best vacation my wife and I have had in a long time. For years we owned a condo in Englewood, with all the maintenance, insurance and fees that came with it, whether we used it or not. And, there we did not have the waterfront view and immediate access to both Lemon Bay and the Gulf of Mexico that we did at Turtle Bay. This year we drove down from Virginia, unpacked the car, settled into our condo at Turtle Bay and immediately began our vacation. Our unit had a spectacular view of a tributary of Lemon Bay that included continuously changing daily scenes of abundant sea birds fishing and roosting, fish jumping, boaters coming and going and nightly scenes of a rising moon casting a river of light on the water plus constellations of stars visible from our porch and balcony, unobscured by street lights. We were up and out jogging/walking early every morning and watched the sunrise from numerous convenient observation points across Manasota Key and the two bridges connecting the island with Englewood. On our way back to the condo, we got our coffee and paper from Circle K and enjoyed them on our screened porch. Most evenings, we watched the sunset from the boardwalk along the beach well-maintained by Charlotte County Parks and Recreation on the Gulf, right across the street from Turtle Bay. The condo itself was spacious, clean and well-laid out and expertly outfitted with everything we needed for our two week stay, including comfortable, clean rooms and furniture, TVs, DVD player, fast WiFi, a convenient well-appointed kitchen/dining area and a clean tiled bathroom. The owner, Susan, genuinely cares about meeting her guest’s every need. When the tire on the luggage cart became deflated, it was fixed immediately and we were informed within the hour. Our recent two weeks at Turtle Bay Condos was the best vacation my wife and I have had in a long time. Susan was also flexible in setting our arrival date and check-in time to maximize our time at Turtle Bay. Thanks, Susan. We highly recommend Turtle Bay Condos. We are already looking forward to a 2011 vacation there.

As Posted on TripAdvisor:The place seemed an oasis after the drive; the clean, salt air first filled your senses, and as you walked thru the tropical palm, canopied path, your eyes are drawn upward to the bay ahead. Lined with mangroves instead of condos, this is 'Old Florida' at its best. We walked down to the dock, and were absorbed in nature - yet, it was hard to decide where to focus one's attention. There was the grey heron looking for his breakfast; the mullet jumping, as if for shear joy; the dolphins swimming lazily (we got to see them daily - named one of them 'Chip' as it had a big chunk of his dorsal fin missing); the list goes on, but the rare treat for us, was the manatee that came by and 'poofed' hello as he surfaced, and frolicked as we stood silent in awe. We spent many an hour on the dock fishing, sitting, talking and laughing - whether in the middle of the night, or wee hours of the morning - nature always seemed to welcome us. Safety never even crossed our minds as an issue, not too many places a girl can be at 3am by herself and feel so secure, truly a gift. The room was great, very clean, open and airy feel with a porch off the dining room (facing the dock and bay - superb view) and another porch off the master bedroom (facing the pool.) Everything you needed was supplied in the kitchen, furnishings were beachy and comfy. The little extras were a reminder that the owners cared. There was even a fishing pole, beach chairs (folding with a cooler pocket - top quality), beach towels, sand pails, cooler, etc. The pool was super; clean, heated, relaxing and very private. The entire grounds are maintained daily and it shows (great job, Mike!) Just a short walk to the beach, which is one of the best in the world for shark's teeth and fossils, not to mention the fishing. My grandson (age 7) either had his pole in the water or was searching for shark's teeth. Make sure you see at least one sunset - breathtaking. Restaurants are also within walking distance - had the best coconut shrimp I could ever recall having - and of course, its stone crab season - yummm!!! From our first communications with the owners, we felt we were in the hands of someone who truly cared, not just about our lodging, but our entire experience - customer service at its finest - how refreshing! So, if you are looking for the Disney/Orlando/Hilton experience, this is not for you. But for a relaxing getaway, this is IT !! Enjoy, S.E.A.

As Posted on TripAdvisor:Our stay at Turtle Bay Condos was very nice. The place was exceptionally clean and roomy. Our condo had all the amenities of home. The view overlooking the bay was wonderful!! Very well maintained, inside and outside. No complaints. Would have to say out of the many locations that we have stayed in Manasota Key over the last 10 years, this by far is one of the nicest!! Would highly recommend. Look forward to returning in the future! Susan was great to do business with!! Having a boat dock right out the back door was great!! Thank you again.......

Our second visit to Turtle Bay Condos this July 4th 2010 was as great as the inaugural visit for Thanksgiving Week in 2008. Everything is in great condition as well as a wonderful location. Susan is wonderful in communication for all and everything you need at the Condos. Great location for Beach, Boating, Fishing and just lounging around. Several Restaurants within walking distance. We can't wait to get back to Turtle Bay this Thanksgiving week 2010.

Owner response:We're always so pleased to hear our guests had such a wonderful visit. We always ask our guests for their comments and feedback so we can make sure we are on top of everything. These guests had a wonderful idea that we promised would be in place when they returned for their Thanksgiving holiday. A fish cleaning station will be installed on our private dock. Yum - grill those fresh fish for dinner on our barbecues!

We had a WONDERFUL time and truly enjoyed our stay in the condo. The only thing that I could comment on would be the beach chairs... we tried using them, but they seemed to either be broke or just not working right. Other than that, it was an awesome week and we hope to return next summer. Our 3yr. old daughter didn't want to leave to come home... she thought we had a new home!
Owner response:We're always pleased to hear our guests had such a good time. As quickly as we learned there was a problem with the beach chairs, we immediately replaced them. We always thank our guests for letting us know what we can do to improve their stay. We look forward to welcoming these guests next summer!

My stay at Turtle Bay this past March was my second visit in two years, and my return was everything I expected based on a wonderful first time experience. Clean, comfortable, roomy, well-appointed, and fully-equipped just begins to describe these very homey and reasonably priced accommodations. In addition, the responsiveness of the owner, no matter how small the matter, was immediate and helpful. Finally, the location of Turtle Bay is ideal with beautiful beaches on Manasota Key, good restaurants within walking distance, grocery and other shopping centers only a short drive away, and incredible Gulf coast sunsets practically every night. My children and I will definitely be back next spring, if not before, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the Englewood-Venice area than Turtle Bay Condos.

I just stayed there march 6th to march 13th 2010. The place was very nice, clean and well maintained. Both Calls for maintenance problems were taken care of within hours of the call even on sunday. If you want a VERY QUITE pieceful vacation this is it! There are four bars, three with eating, One Italian carry out, and a circle K. (7-11 type store) within a mile of Turtle Bay Condos. If you need a grocey store, super wal-mart or package store, you'll be driving about 4-5 miles one way. Day things to do, walk on the beach, swim, rent a jet ski, sit on the beach, go fishing, go drinking at a bar. Night things, go eating and drinking at a bar. Beach, lots and lots of small shells, not the nice white sand you find around the gulf, but more gray.

We have just recently returned from our third Christmas/New Year trip to Manasota Key and Turtle Bay Condos. And once again we had a great time even though the weather didn't cooperate with us this year. If you are looking for a quite, comfortable and relaxing place to stay Turtle Bay is the right place. The beach is just across the road, the pool is heated, three restaurants and a gift shop within walking distance, a fishing charter just a short drive away, you have just about everything right at arms length. The condos are very clean, spacious, bright, and well taken care of. They provide just about anything you would possibly need except for your clothes. Susan has always been wonderful to deal with. I have never had any complaints and if you have any suggestions Susan always listens and will take them into consideration. This year she will be adding TVs to the master bedrooms, (My husband says “yeah” to that). If all works out, we will be back again next year and years to come.

This December will be my eighth consecutive year staying at Turtle Bay It's a great location on one of Florida's best-kept secrets, Manisota Key. This island is about eight miles long and very narrow. Beach Road runs almost the entire length of the island and at one point becomes "Canopy Road", because the forest canopr grows right over the roadway. It's a beautiful setting. Englewood Beach is right across the street and is a great place for shelling, beachcombing, or just chilling. Turtle Bay is a condo complex consisting of only eight units set up in "Old Florida" style. The units themselves are immaculate and contain all the modern immenities, including free WIFI. The grounds and beautiful heated pool are meticulously maintained. We just love it there. I am always so happy to be there... so sad to go home.

I just spent my eighth consecutive Christmas holiday at Turtle Bay and already booked my ninth for Christmas 2010. The unit is spotless and modern, with constant improvements (new flat panel TV and DVD player this time). The pool and landscaping are meticulously maintained. A lot of love has been put into this place (Thank you Susan and Joe). I was there when those coconut palms were first planted and can't believe how fast they grow. Nature just seems to flourish here. What a perfect place to unwind. Just sit on the dock and watch and listen to the birds... the fish jumping... the occasional dolphin. Maybe even try your hand at fishing. Sure beats working.

We are a Canadian family with three young school-aged kids. Fall 2010 will be our third visit to Manasota. If you like nature, dolphins, ospreys, sea birds, a quiet beach to yourself covered with fossilized shark's teeth and other sea shells in abundance, then Manasota is your pick. While we were at our Turtle Bay condo in Dec., there was an osprey that liked to sit on a nearby telephone pole quite often. We also met a florida box turtle while taking out the recycling. I have been to similar places like Sanibel and Captiva, which are nice, but tend to be more built up and uber-trendy than natural, serene Manasota Key. Turtle Bay offers the best deal with the most amenities on Manasota for a fair price. Susan is prompt, fair and professional. We love the pool, which is nicely heated and a nice thing to have (lots of rentals on Manasota do not have a pool). We also liked fishing off the dock and caught many pin fish one afternoon. The beach is amazing. We saw gopher tortoises on the paths and dolphins playing in the bay at nearby Stump Pass park, which a 2 minute drive or short bike ride away. The Turtle Bay condo's are nice and well equipped and clean with everything we needed. The Englewood Walmart is a 10 minute drive away and has a great grocery section which is the most inexpensive grocery store around. There are also good restaurants on Manasota and in Englewood. I have been going to Florida since I was a teenager and have been to many places in the state. I can honestly say that this is my favorite place in Florida.
