Our family of 14 stayed here over Christmas for 7 days. The place was adequate, however not as stated on VRBO Profile. There was no use of an icemaker or dryer on 2nd floor. Both were broken and no effort was made to repair. We carried our laundry down two flights to use a dryer. Also stated charcoal grill, none. I wrote and asked if there was a deep fat fryer, again was told Yes, there was none. We had to store ice in the freezer which left no space for the meat we had brought from home, it had to be kept in the cooler outside. During the day, when sun was out, we had to pack it in snow to keep it frozen. The refrigerator was not cleaned out but full of leftovers previous occupants left, thus all the door space was unavailable to us. Again we had to keep our water, etc outside, by morning everything was frozen. When we rented the place they agreed to a price lower than was stated, however this was made up in the end when they charged us extra for excessive cleaning. reasons: toilet ran over with first flush on third floor. It seeped down to the first floor. We were told too much tissue was used. This was flushed by our 40 year old son, I hardly think he was playing with the tissue. We were told there was a grease spot in the living room, we burned no candles nor took any food into the living room, other than bowls of popcorn, I hardly think they stained the floor. We were told we had excessive trash, we paid for 14 people, it was Christmas, paper, etc., we were not told how much trash was allowed. All of it was in bags, tied, and removed. We were told we washed towels when told not to. We assumed that meant upon checking out. We did wash towels during the stay, there were not enough towels to last 14 people for 7 days. Don't know if they intended we not shower but once, or use the same towel for 7 days. We did not expect them to do our laundry. We picked up as much debris as we could the day before, off the floor, but there was no vacuum, only a big patio broom. I don't think excessive. Also stated we moved furniture,Only furniture we moved, extra table into dining room so we could all eat together, permission given to do so. They say water leaked down first floor, skylights leaked, we had pots set all over, but could not catch it all. No screens on windows, many bugs & flies. No ventilation in kitchen, other than small fan on stove, during oven cleaning we had to open windows. No smoke alarms. Beware, if planning to stay here.

We had the pleasure of renting this beautiful, warm and inviting home during the week of Thanksgiving. Everything about this house was truly wonderful for the occasion! The appointments were lovely and yet homey, the house was open and spacious while still feeling cozy and the music room / atrium with the piano was an enchanting place for our family to gather -- listening to Mom playing the piano or sitting in the sunshine to talk and have coffee. The owners were excellent hosts and were helpful and gracious. We will definitely be back!

My family enjoyed their stay in July 2010. We had more than enough room to spread out.....we put our youngest member on the top level with a TV so he could stay up as late as he wanted. We thought the landscaping was beautiful. We felt secluded but able to get to Boulder daily. We enjoyed all the eateries in Nederland too! The yellow cafe in Nederland was terrific! We enjoyed being able to hike near by. The weather was cool and fresh everyday. The owners were nearby in the basement if we ever had a concern. The improvements we'd make would be to have screens in the windows so we could open the windows without bugs flying in, the front door lock could be easier to open, and the option to use the phone for long distance calls (as cell phones didn't work there).
Owner response:Fair Enough, Ohioan. The entire surrounding at AspenRidge is fantastic for sure. We may have to do something about the cell reception. The WiFi covers for some of that, but not all. Thanks for comment on the Nederland spots, especially.
