If you are looking for a conveniently located property in the Asheville area my home is it. Look no further! It’s just 3 minutes away from The Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village and about 5 minutes from downtown Asheville.
The home is ideal for 2 to 4 people. The 2 bedrooms are furnished with comfortable queen size beds. The kitchen and bathroom were completely remodeled and the kitchen is well-equipped for gourmet cooking if that is your pleasure.
There are mixes of old and new with several antique pieces scattered throughout the house. The home is very clean, cozy, charming, organized and comfortable. I want you to feel like it is your 'home away from home'. It is ideal for weekend or week long vacations, or temporary lodging while house hunting or job relocating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home away from home. It was so clean and equipped with everything we needed including the Wi-Fi. We loved visiting Asheville and The Biltmore Estate. What a treat it was to have “afternoon tea” in the Library at the Biltmore Inn. The food tour we took downtown was excellent! Thanks for being such a thoughtful host. Maybe we’ll see you again someday. We want to come back to shop again at the Screen Door! Loved that place! Sue Thank you for your warm and friendly hospitality, Janis! Thank you for showing us the “before” pictures of your home. What an amazing accomplishment for which you should be incredibly proud!! My daughter and I had an awesome time here. The cottage was a perfect place to stay and see everything. It had all the comforts of home and much more! It was equipped with everything that you could possibly need. Thank you, Janis, for all your help and extra touches in your cottage. It’s so peaceful and beautiful here. Hope to come back in the fall with my husband. TeresaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had the most wonderful time and truly felt like this was our little home away from home. We loved visiting with you and felt like you were FAMILY!! We absolutely love the cottage and we’ll be back for sure!! No hotel can come close to your hospitality and cottage. It’s so peaceful here and close to everything! The location is superb! I especially loved getting up in the morning, opening the front door and letting the sunshine in. I also loved how the sun comes in the kitchen window as I made coffee or poured a glass of wine. We can’t wait to come back and look forward to visiting with you again! Thank you for refunding out security deposit so quickly!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Janis, What can we say….we loved Asheville and the house but especially you!!! You made us feel like family. Thanks for all the help in getting us around town. The Biltmore was all you said it would be and we loved it. Thank you for the brownies. They were better than the Biltmore’s! They alone were worth the trip and the best we’d ever had! One of us couldn’t stop at one….had to eat two!!!! Ha! We’ll all miss you lots. Hope to see you again. Sincerely with Love, Susie, Rochelle, Gwen and IvyDid you find this review helpful? It was a cold blustery week in Asheville, but we couldn't have found a more welcoming place to stay than the cottage. Larger than it looks in the photos, two good-sized bedrooms (one quite large), ample bathroom, quality fixtures, tastefully decorated - neither a bland hotel, nor like someone's vacant house, but quite special. Large living room with good light and nice views. Big kitchen well-stocked with spices and pots, etc. Warm and snug inside however horrible it was out. Close to everything, and Janis was a huge help in getting us everywhere we wanted to go…restaurants, breweries and sites! We have done several home rentals before and they are not usually as described in one way or another. This was much better than expected. We plan to go back to both Asheville and, of course, Janis's cottage. Outstanding.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Janis' cottage was such a perfect place to spend a month vacaton, I've already booked her apartment for next year. Janis was like a sister from the 1st moment my sister and I met her. The cottage is totally charming, Beds comfy, linens luxurious. Plenty of storage and closet room for a month. Easy acess to laundry, a blessing for a long stay. The kitchen is amazing, large with anything one might need to fix goumet meals and save left-overs. The bathroom is large with an amazing waterfall shower and good lighting. I loved the front window with the view of the sunrise coming up over the mountains. The cottage is situated for easy acess to anywhere in WNC, no matter what one's agenda. There are loads of up-to date- pamphlets, menus, maps and Janis is readily available to answer any and all questions. Oh, WI-FI , what a great way to make reservations we used frequently. The cottage is located in a safe neighborhood. I highly recommend this VRBO for anyone looking for a WNC vavation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Thanks Janis! We really enjoyed our stay in your quaint and comfortable home. Susan had stayed with you before and wanted to return. Now we know why! We loved the big master bedroom with your beautiful wedding dress and other unique touches. Thanks for all your sightseeing tips and for recounting the history of both of your properties….fascinating! I’m sure we’ll be seeing you again…..probably during a different and more temperate season. Fondly, Amy and Ben Janis, Again, it was wonderful! About the owner: I am Janis and for many years, prior to my husband’s passing, it was our goal to own and operate a guest cottage in beautiful Asheville, NC. I am fulfilling this dream as he would have wanted. My love of nature and the beauty to be found in Asheville is a constant source of discovery for me and as my eyes are opened to the beauty that surrounds the cottage, it excites me to be able to offer visitors first hand information on the endless sites in store for them. I am here to make your trip a memorable one and to offer everything I can to help you achieve that. “Your Complete Satisfaction is my #1 Goal!”
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
I actually didn’t choose Asheville but rather married into it so to speak. My husband owned a home in Asheville and lived in it for a short time off and on. When we married we moved to Orlando, FL and the house remained unoccupied except for an occasional renter. In 2000 we decided to completely restore the home and after renting it for a few years we decided to sell our home in Orlando and relocate full time to the property in Asheville, a move we never regretted. As luck would have it the home next door to us was for sale and we viewed that as the perfect opportunity to be able to offer a very special “home away from home” for our guests. We bought it and completely refurbished it. Living next door affords me the ability to quickly and efficiently meet all the needs of my guests. My dream has come true so why not come to beautiful Asheville and let me help make your stay one that you will fondly remember.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
It's on a very short dead end street with very few neighbors so no busy road so it has the country feel but is within the city limits and close to everything. Biltmore Village, Estates, Downtown Asheville, Antiquing and other great shopping, Great Restaurants, About 6 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mall just to name a few.
