We're located just outside of Abiquiu in Prado Valley Ranch on 7 1/2 acres, on the edge of a mesa with MAGNIFICENT VIEWS of the surrounding mountains, especially "THE PEDERNAL", which is the famous flat-topped mountain that Georgia O'Keefe painted while living at Ghost Ranch, (which is located only a quick drive away). Georgia O'Keefe's house is open for tours in the summer months. Also, Abiquiu Lake is located only a short drive away and the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa is quite close, only a few minutes down the road. Bode's gas station/deli/grocery store is in the center of Abiquiu for your convenience. There are restaurants close by for your eating out pleasure and also, the New Mexican Cuisine is on the menus of many.
The casita has Airconditioning, Internet Access, DirecTV, plus a W/D. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and it actually has 2 bedrooms, one downstairs with a Queen bed, which sleeps 2 adults comfortably, and a small attic bedroom which sleeps 2 adults or 2 children. The attic has a twin daybed, a roll-a-way bed and also a Queen air mattress with an attic ladder/stairs that pulls down and is quite easy to climb. A Screened-in Porch is on the front of the house which is a great place for drinking your coffee/tea in the cool mornings and taking in the great views of the mountains that surround us,and there's also a Patio area in the rear of the house with a table and 4 chairs for watching the breathtaking sunsets. It also has a Gas Grill for your cooking out experience. And when the sun goes down you can witness the most beautiful star-studded nights of your life, shooting stars no exception. We also have a wonderful walking/biking/horseback riding road that encircles the mesa.
CHECK IN TIME is 3:00 PM and CHECK OUT TIME is 10:00 AM, but if no one is renting the Casita on your check out day, you can check out at 12:00 PM.
There is so much to do in or near Abiquiu and we have a great vacation get-away for you for a week, a weekend or a month or even longer. So, come on up on the mesa.!!!!!!!

- Espanola is approximately 17 miles south of Abiquiu and has a Super Walmart for groceries, etc., Walgreen's, Sonic, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, all the fast food restaurants, also, Chili's & The Delta Restaurants. Chama is approximately 50 miles north and has The Toltec-Cumbres Railway, which is famous for its ride up through the mountains into Colorado. Ghost Ranch is a quick ride up the road, which has painting, music, writing, Spanish and all kinds of classes. Santa Fe is approximately 45 miles south and has a multitude of things to do there: art galleries, restaurants, shopping, night life, museums and the famous open air Opera. Also, a short drive away is Ojo Caliente that has a hot springs spa. And our beautiful blue Abiquiu Lake only a short drive away has all kinds of water sports. You have to provide your own boat, skis, etc. Or just to look out over the lake is worth the trip, with the red rocks all around it, it is breathtaking. Take a picnic lunch.

Reveiw of Casita I had a super time at the casita, spending over 2 months last spring. The casita is situtated on lightly developed mesa, providing stunning views of Sierra Negra which I felt was a mountain of stunning and every changing beauty. A wonderful view of the Jemez Mountains entertained the eye to the west. If your into biking the mesa provided miles of off road biking just out the door which then provided even more views. The casita is really comfortable and well equiped. The owners who live next door are friendly and respectful of casita guest privacy. I'm a painter, so the quiet and isolation was much welcomed. If your into nature and a want to get away from it all, yet still have access to the culture of Santa Fe and Taos this is a great place.
Owner response:We feel that our Casita is in a developed area. There are numerous houses in this subdivision. Most of them are on 10 acre lots and we have friendly neighbors. We don't feel isolated at all as we are very close to Abiquiu and El Rito, also Mamacitas Pizzeria is right down the road and Abiquiu Inn is quite close for wonderful lunches and dinners, and Frank drives down to Bode's Deli for coffee almost everyday and sometimes lunch. Espanola is only 17 miles to the south and Santa Fe is only 45 miles to the south.
