My husband and I recently returned from visiting our college-aged daughter in Portland. We decided to become more acquainted with the neighborhoods in Portland and stayed in this unit. It was a great decision. Our hosts, Christy and Stacey went out of their way to make us feel comfortable -- complete with a complimentary bottle of wine. The house is nestled in the Alberta Arts district and the food and beverage options in the neighborhood are amazing. The home is clean, spacious and decorated in the most wonderfully nostalgic way. We will definitely be back to Portland and hope to find this property available again.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, myself and our two little boys had a very nice stay here. We enjoyed the privacy of the unit (even though there were people staying in the apartment upstairs) - there is a small but well maintained yard to play in and amazing views to drink in both day and night. We enjoyed many evenings eating out on the patio and watching the sun go down. There are two great playgrounds in easy walking distance, which was a plus for the kids, while the adults enjoyed being able to take a leisurely stroll to Alberta St for dinner or drinks. The owners were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we hope to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a month here and had a great time. The location is excellent; close to #8 bus to downtown, only five blocks from Alberta St. and all it's funky charms (don't miss "last Thursday" each month) plus other dining choices even closer. The surrounding neighborhoods are wonderful for long walks, admiring the Portland architecture and nice landscaping. There is a great view of downtown and the west side hills from the patio (and the hosts even trimmed the hedge so the view would be better!). The place is spacious and comfy, and was very clean and had all the supplies we needed (though a few wine glasses would have been welcome!). I would recommend this to anyone looking for an extended stay in Portland. Hosts (who live next door) were very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. Quiet neighborhood, with a nice small park only a block away. Dog friendly, too!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'd like to add that our standard has been to provide stemless wine glasses, as well as a bottle of NW wine of the guest's preferred variety upon their arrival. I thank these guests for letting us know that some guests prefer wine glasses with stems, so we will be glad to provide those too!

We had a wonderful stay in the mid-century mod apartment!! We were visiting our daughters in Portland in the Alberta Arts district. There was ample parking at the unit, all new looking furniture, appliances, comfortable beds and stylish comforters and decor. There is a comfortable large deck we used when our daughters came to visit. It has a wonderful hilltop view. Christy was great to deal with and provided us with coffee, tour brochures and a bottle of wine on arrival. And she called to see what else we might need. The new washer/dryer hadn't arrived yet so she made arrangements for us to use one in another unit. The area is great for walks in a charming neighborhood with Whole foods and Starbucks nearby. We will definetly use Christ's apt again as we are Vrbo owners too and realize what owners and visitors expect out of a great rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow! Christy has tastefully appointed her Mid-Century Mod flat and the nature and city views are so beautiful. It truly is home away from home to cook a nice meal and cozy up with a good book. Too, it’s an easy walk to shops, great eateries, the park and buses to just about anywhere Portland! Christy was wonderfully instrumental in helping me enjoy my stay! My advise is choose Christy's “Alberta Arts District”!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

We have so enjoyed our month long stays at this beautiful house that we are already booked in for next summer. We have rented apartments and houses before and never have we had one so completely furnished in every way down to paper products, spices, and even a bottle of wine in the refrigerator. The house is furnished in a very cheery retro style and is comfortable and inviting. The very best part of the house is the fabulous location and the even more fabulous view of the whole downtown. At night we love to sit outside and look at the lights of the city. It is only a few blocks from Alberta Street with wonderful restaurants and shops and a huge park. We recommend Mid Century Mod to anyone who wants a relaxing stay close to wonderful downtown Portland.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The photo's and the listing description did not do the property justice. The flat was the nicest VRBO I have ever had the pleasure of renting. It was in outstanding condition, furnished beautifully and well outfitted with respect to linens, kitchen utensils, dishes and cleaning items. The owner couldn't have been more professional and friendly, and was a fantastic resource for just about question I had. The neighborhood was artsy and vibrant and everything was in walking distance. The view from the property was exceptional. This flat is a true gem!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, kids (2 1/2 & 5 1/2) & I loved staying here. We had the house for 8 wks and have not a single complaint. The house is cute, clean & in a great neighborhood. We were close to stores, a park, restaurants and many child-friendly activities. Whenever we needed suggestions, help, directions etc. the owners or their manager were always available. Our second night there we locked ourselves out and the manager happily drove over to let us back in. My kids loved having a yard/patio. They were able to play safely out back while I cooked. We will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We moved from Australia to Portland for work, and are staying here for a couple of months while we settle somewhere permanent. The house itself is beautiful, and comes with pretty much everything we could want for during our time here. The folks running the place have been absolutely wonderful, both with getting us settled, and in dealing with a booking from the other side of the world with all the attendant delays and all. We would not hesitate to recommend them, or the place, to anyone. The views over the city are absolutely wonderful, too, and it is close enough to everything including good public transport - and our own car space, too.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
