Our mountain home is now ready to rent. Its features include three bedrooms(two queen beds, two twins), and three bathrooms, each with tub/shower combinations. It is located in a quiet area with mountain views. The main floor level has solid oak hardwood floors, and soaring tongue and groove pine ceilings. This level features an open great room, a dining room, a stacked rock gas fireplace, a 42 inch flat-scree TV, a VCR/DVD, a fully-equipped kitchen with solid surface countertops, maple cabinets, one bedroom, a large walk-in pantry and a full bath. This floor leads to a large decks with a seasonal view of the lake and a year-round view of the mountains.
The upper level has a master suite with solid oak hardwood floors, a television. The master offers a fantastic seasonal view of the lake and a year-round view of the mountains. The master bedroom also has a full bath and a large walk-in closet.
The lower level has a large bedroom with twin beds, a furnished living room with a television, a full bathroom, a full-size washer and dryer, and a deck.
We have wireless internet service in the house.
Our home is located in Bear Paw, which is the only development on gorgeous Lake Hiwassee in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina. Lake Hiwassee is only five to ten minutes walking distance from our home. Lake Hiwassee is an 18-mile long mountain lake that offers casual fishing, boating, and swimming. There is also a shared swimming pool(open from Memorial Day through Labor Day), a marina that rents boats, a tennis court, a basketball court, a child's playground, and a child's fishing pond. A secured entrance gate adds to the feeling of peace and serenity pervading Bear Paw.

We very much enjoyed the Lake house. The house was very private, fully stocked, and very clean. We had a great time and the owners were great to work with. Thanks for the great memories we had as a family!!Recommended for: Families with young children.

Loved the house! Well stocked, very very clean, very private and we had a blast picking blackberries which were growing like crazy all around the property! Lots of movies to watch which is very much appreciated- thank you! Little tricky finding the house the first time so take your time as it's really easy to miss the sign. Thanks again, we hope to stay there next summer ! Laura, Greg and familiesRecommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Lovely home and quiet, quiet, quiet. Had the opportunity to stay for several days and enjoy Bear Paw. A change for me , living on the ocean. The house was comfortable, especially because I love home cooked meals as opposed to dining out. Great kitchen and watching TV on a huge flat screen with leather easy chair was a unexpected treat here in the mountains. Thanks for the memories.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We are Ken and Liz Kushner from Tallahassee, Florida. Ken is a math teacher at Lincoln High School and Liz is a registered nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. We have a grown son, Jordan. Retirement is right around the corner for us, and we look forward to having lots of free time to enjoy traveling, hiking, playing tennis, woodworking, golfing, hunting, antiquing, reading, and fishing.
Why the Owner Chose Murphy:
We enjoy the serenity that the mountains have to offer. Bear Paw, while maintaining its rustic charm, has amenities that we enjoy including the pool, marina, and tennis courts. We also appreciate the fact that it is a gated community and that the national forest surrounds us. There is no thru traffic, which makes it a very peaceful place.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy being able to go boating and fishing at the marina, which is inside Bear Paw. The tennis courts are convenient so that we can enjoy a game of tennis without having to travel to courts. The Olympic-size swimming pool is a nice place to meet people who live in Bear Paw or are vacationing from other areas. There is also a playground for children adjacent to the swimming pool and a covered pavilion which is nice for family reunions. The roads in Bear Paw are well-maintained, so taking long walks is easy.
