Welcome to our cabin on Deer Lake! Do you ever wish you can lay in bed and listen to the fish jump, loons call and a hoot owl hoot at night. Well at our cabin nestled by the lake you can have nightly bonfires while you watch the fish jump under a sky of stars over the lake.
Our main cabin is within feet of our 50ft sugar sand beach and a small bonfire pit, which is great for nightly bonefires and Smores. A spacious deck faces the lake where you can sit and enjoy breakfast as the sun rises across the lake. In the main cabin there is a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, living room with Lazyboy sleeper sofa and a small bedroom. Behind the main cabin there is a large bunk house that has two double beds and a large futon. The bunk house sleeps six very comfortably with room to put all your fishing and water gear. We have many beautiful Oak and Pine trees on the property that give cool shade all day long.
Deer lake is inviting for families who enjoy swimming, water skiing, sailing, tubing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Boat rentals(waverunners/pontoon/fishing) are available at the nearby 3 lakes resort. Our dock includes a lift to holding boats up to 1200 Ibs.
Deer Lake has a water clarity of 9.5ft with clear water flowing from adjacent Ottertail Lake through Deer lake and into East Lost Lake and Lost Lake. This gives boaters access to a chain of lakes and the best walleye fishing in Ottertail County.
A great day trip includes Phelps Mill which has become a symbol of the old rural life. Its another great landmark of Otter Tail County. Today it stands as one of the county's picturesque landmarks, a reminder of an important time in the local history for Ottertail County. They have an old ice cream shop, kayaking, and nearby fishing in the Ottertail River.
If you are into climbing and hiking then nearby Glendalough State Park is a great day trip. For hikers, there are eight miles of trails populated with all kinds of park wildlife. Two of the eight miles are self-guided nature trails with either brochures or interpretive signs.
