Why the Owner Chose Highlands
We live in the Metro Atlanta area and had been visiting Highlands for many years. We would come each year usually over the 4th of July, during the leaf season in October and then any other time we had a chance. We had always wanted to own a home here and were so thrilled when we found "The Bear". It had everything we were looking for in a 2nd home. Best place in the world to cool off during our long hot southern summers! And we have simply loved watching our grandsons grow up at The Bear.

Rain or shine...you will love relaxing on the huge covered porch. There's plenty of room for reading, conversing with friends and family, playing games or dining. There are miles and miles of quaint mountain roads for taking long walks...don't miss a stroll to feed the swans at Mirror Lake! The cabin is cozy and comfortable but when you're ready to head to town for the fabulous shopping and dining you're only 5 minutes away. We're also close to many great hikes and waterfall attractions. Having 2 living areas plus 2 large porches gives great privacy for large groups also.

We're Richard and Cathy Adams and we've been in the custom homebuilding business in the North Atlanta area for over 20 years. We recently built a new home about a mile from our rental cabin and love to come by and meet our guests...we have met some terrific people.
