Brief Description: This brand new retreat is a guest house designed to look like an old fashioned barn. The accommodations are on the main level, and upstairs is an art studio that is occasionally used by the owner (there is a separate private entrance for the studio space). The owners live next door on this twelve acre parcel overlooking the Yellowstone River valley and are willing to share their organic garden, studio space, and even offer homemade meals on request.
Very tasteful furnishings, warm colors, and gorgeous stained glass windows create a great space for your vacation getaway home! The home is just ten minutes from Yellowstone Park, 45 minutes to Livingston, and just over an hour to Bozeman and the Gallatin Field airport.
Bedrooms and bathrooms: There are three bedrooms in the home, as well as a extra sleeping space for more flexible sleeping arrangements. The "master" bedroom has a king size bed - which can also be set up as two twins if needed. In the second bedroom are two sets of bunk beds - great for four kiddos! The third bedroom has a queen size bed. There is also a "Captain's bed" in the den, which serves as a couch for TV watching, but may serve as a twin bed in the evenings. The living room sofa is also a high quality queen size pullout sofabed. There is one full private bathroom with a tub/shower combination.
Kitchen and dining: This kitchen has everything you will need, with a gas stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cookware and serving ware you will need. There is a small table for two plus a few barstools at the counter in the kitchen, plus a larger dining area out in the great room.
Great room: This great room has a lofted ceiling with huge windows at one end to let in all the light and beautiful views. One end of the room has your dining table, which sits up to eight comfortably. There is also a small bar area off to the side for happy hour. The other end of the great room has your living area with comfy sofas and chairs and a gas-fired "woodstove" for atmosphere. Off to the side of the great room is a small den where you can cozy up to watch some evening movies. The home has satellite television and a DVD player.
Activities nearby: The biggie is obviously Yellowstone Park! Naturalists and photographers will be in heaven here - just ten minutes to the Park! Close enough to head in for first light wildlife viewing, or to savor the day and be there for twilight.... the two best times of the day. The Yellowstone River has access areas just a few minutes away from the home for those who love to fish - plus there are many other creeks or lakes to test your skills. Other recreation that is close by includes horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking and more. A rare bonus offered at only this property is private art lessons, in case you have a rainy day, or just a special interest in pottery or stained glass. Art studio use or lessons is arranged through the owners - please inquire if you are interested. There's so much to do!
Guest capacity: Red Barn Retreat can accommodate up to eight guests very comfortably. There are nine separate beds in the home.
Other details: No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior written approval. The home has a private phone, and a washer and dryer. It is very rare for a Montana home to be built with air conditioning; this home does not have AC. This home has a fully equipped kitchen, and includes good quality kitchen, bath and bed linens, and staples like paper goods, laundry, dish and hand soaps.
Catering services: The owners of Red Barn Retreat are pleased to offer a limited menu of homemade dinners that can be pre-ordered to have ready to heat up in your own kitchen at the end of the day. Fresh cooked, healthy meals featuring veggies from the organic garden....tailored towards adults and children based on your preferences. If this is of interest, let us know. |
