Visitors describe this house as charming, comfortable, and romantic. It is our weekend getaway throughout the winter and we often find walks may lead to a sandy beach with a quaint carousel for the kids or a cocktail at one of the seaside pubs. A five-minute drive to Newport center for touring and unique shopping, or a leisurely car ride along Bellevue Avenue to gaze at the historic mansions are other options for whiling away a lazy afternoon. Along the way, the world famous Cliff Walk can provide a breathtaking backyard view into mansion living with the ocean breeze keeping the walkers cool. The wonderful location of this house offers something for everyone.
This non-smoking cottage has two bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate four. One bedroom has two twin beds, and the other has a double bed. There is an adjustable reading lamp for each guest in the bedrooms. There is also a full-size sofa bed for overnight guests. The eat-in kitchen can seat six, and the appliances are modern and very clean with a new smooth-top stove. Also, if cooking is your thing, you won't be disappointed by the array of pots (including a lobster pot), pans, and utensils. The living room is sunny and set up for reading, relaxing, and entertaining. It has a stereo with iPod connection, DVD/VCR player, and expanded digital cable TV. There is a back deck and lovely, tree-shaded private yard with a roomy shed for bikes and toys.
Additional amenities include parking for at least three vehicles, a washer and dryer, a new Webber gas grill, beach chairs, an umbrella, a large picnic table and, best of all, two spectacular beaches within easy walking distance.
All you need to bring to this lovely cottage are your bathing suits, clothes, and some groceries, then let your vacation begin.
