Casa Catalina is a custom-built villa on a hill overlooking the charming village of Playa Hermosa, one of the “BLUE FLAG” beaches of Guanacaste. It is just high enough to gaze at the Pacific over the village's tree canopy, yet close enough to walk there in ten minutes. Three private bedrooms with balconies and baths face the ocean. One is a king, the second has two twin beds, and the third has a queen bed. Linens are provided. Locally built furnishings, full gourmet kitchen, wireless internet all add up to tropical enchantment with cosmopolitan comfort. It is adjacent to Villa Aurelia-the two houses together can sleep 14 adults-with 8 bathrooms, two kitchens,two pools, etc.- All for the price of one big house!

The villa is on a private drive convenient to main road and the village of Playa Hermosa. Stroll to the grocery store, the sports bar or the beach. A large stone deck surrounds the pool, and the views are spectacular. You will look out over the Pacific or at the villas on the mountains. You will see the monkey families in the trees. The house is brand new, clean and spacious. Cool tile throughout the house.There is a 24 hour security guard on site.

Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, is 20 minutes from the international airport in Liberia, Costa Rica. We can arrange to meet you at the airport and transport you to the house. A rental car and cell phone will be reserved at your request. Excursions into the incredible natural areas of Costa Rica will be available to you, with absolutely no pressure. We will provide a concierge service with English speaking guides.
Playa Hermosa means "beautiful beach", and this beach is worth the trip. The Pacific Ocean is warm and gentle. The village has several good restaurants. For a little more excitement, visit Playa del Coco, 15 minutes south, to find nightclubs, bars and a casino. You can also travel north 20 minutes to the super exclusive Four Seasons Resort on Peninsula Papagayo.
From the beach, you can find fishing, snorkeling and diving trips. Nearby, you can find the famous "canopy tours"- a zip line ride over the rainforest. Further inland, into the mountain cloud forest, visit an active volcano, bathe in hot sulfur springs, or take a mud bath.
Horseback riding is available all over Guanacaste: the "big sky" country of Costa Rica. Bird watchers come from all over the world to see 850 species of birds. A river safari will show you the most exotic water birds you've ever seen, as well as the 3 species of monkeys, and the crocodiles.

Beautiful clean newer house with an outstanding view of the ocean. nice small private pool. a bit noisey when the house next door has the a/c running, otherwise a heavenly spot to sip your morning coffee, or a late evening cocktail under the stars. House was clean and well organized, just bring your own toaster! the restaurant next door called Ginger is a must! the best tapas ever! The beach was nicer on the first entrance road which requires getting in the car and driving, but the beach right down the road was a good second choice. more locals, which made it interesting.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Catalina! The pictures don't do it justice - it is beautiful. The poeple are friendly and we were busy every day with activities. While there we walked to the beach from the house, we walked to dining and the local store is also a short walk. I highly recommend!!

We absolutely loved our stay. The pictures just don't do justice to the house or the views. Playa Hermosa was a great little town. Charlie kept the place beautiful. Bernal was so helpful and took care of everything we ever needed. We are telling all of our friends to go visit Costa Rica and stay here - and we will be back someday ourselves. What a great place for a vacation! This is a spectacular, brand new home overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The owner has provided everything you need to have a fun and relaxing time. The interior is beautiful and well appointed. It's a convenient location - close to the airport and numerous trips and excursions around the country as well as a very short walk to the beach. It's everything I had hoped for and more.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Catalina! The house is gorgeous and has beautiful furnishings. The view was fantastic and it is extremely quiet. We loved laying in the pool and looking out over the Pacific. It was an easy walk to the beach and there are some good restaurants nearby. David, and his staff on site made sure that we had everything we needed and they were great to work with. We are already planning our return trip!
