Great centrally located property

We were looking for a vaction spot where we could enjoy using our 17' center console boat and this property has great southern side island access. While the road out front is a bit busy, the side yards and back are private. House is clean and property manager is very responsive to house and local needs.

My wife & I spent a month at this lovely home. We found the experience very refreshing & would not hesitate to recomend it to our friends--Nothing like having your own pool & lanaii to enjoy Marco's fabulous weather--- The home itself was clean,well equiped and within an easy drive to all marco destinations---we enjoyed watching all the various wildlife from the lanai including pelicans,egrets & believe it or not 2 manatees that appeared periodicly next to our dock--If you enjoy relaxation ,great weather and an occasional trip to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world this is the place !

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children.

Sisters Get-Away

This was our first girls vacation in FLA -- our previous get-aways have been in places such as Marblehead MA & Newport RI -- so our expectations were high. This home (and Marco Island) did not disappoint! The house is more beautiful even than the pictures show -- tastefully appointed, well maintained with many unmentioned amenities. From the first cup of coffee by the pool in the lovely lanai (with the Snowy Egret fishing from our own dock!) through to the last swim in our own heated & lit pool -- this destination was absolute heaven. The house was spacious & thoughtfully arranged; the beds were comfortable; we loved having a fully-appointed kitchen so we could start the day with coffee & breakfast at home -- the family room was newly furnished & a great place to watch the night-time storms. Information on area attractions, maps, menus, etc. were provided in the home -- as well everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach (chairs, boogie-boards, towels, bikes, etc.) We will definitely be making this our new annual destination! I would highly recommend this home to friends & family.

Anniversary Getaway

For our 20th wedding anniversary we stayed at this beautiful house. The house is close to everything (beach, restaurants & shopping).We found it to be clean, spacious and very comfortable with many extras (bicycles, beach towels, beach chairs & umbrellas, fishing poles, etc.) making our stay that much more enjoyable. After a quick stop at the grocery store we literally had everything we needed for our week long stay. From a well organized fully appointed kitchen to a clean grill outside on the lanai, (which we made good use of). We enjoyed the large master bedroom which had a walk-in closet, large walk-in shower and sliding glass doors out to the lanai. In the evening we found the den relaxing while watching the World Series on the large screen TV. We started every morning with a cup of coffee out on the lanai and ended the day with a dip in the heated swimming pool. During the day we rode the bicycles all over the island, went to the beach for shell hunting & the gorgeous sunsets and chartered a sailboat out of Rose Marina (just 10 minutes away). We enjoyed our stay so much that we are considering making this an annual event.

Regrettably this review will not be as pleasant as the only other review found for this property. We have been using VRBO for over 10 years, some by the owner's only and some with rental management companies as this home had. To say the least I would not recommend this property to any of our friends, nor whould I return. Upon arrival we found full garbage cans which we could not use for over 5 days, a dirty garage and yard areas that left a little to be desired. We were not treated well at our check in. No insturctions for the home specific, the beach use, which we hit upon by accident, or anything else was provided. It took over 3 days after contacting the management company about the ant infestation in all rooms especially the bathrooms to return our calls and even after a pest company came was not rectified. We found the patio area and pool to be dirty, as well as a new BBQ that was unuseable. After a few days at the property the pool was truning green with alge and a pool service had to come out, which took 1.5 days. The home upon arrival had dishes in the diswasher and overall condition was only average at best. The home was stated to have Wi-Fi which was not correct or not working, as this was necessary for work related business I used the library. One last thing the beds in this home were some of the worst we have encountered. Our stay in Florida was wonderful as always, but our stay in this home was well below our expectations.

Owner response:As the owners of this home, we were truly disappointed and suprised to read the review from the retirees of Gold River, CA. We make a point to visit our Marco home at least twice a year. We love the home and take pride in it. We go down to enjoy the home ourselves, as well as to reassure ourselves that our vacation home is maintained as it should be for our visits as well as those who choose to rent our home. When we visited in the spring of 2010, we found everything to our satisfaction. In addition, we had renters in the late spring who left the review titled 'The Girls....Colchester, CT.,' reaffirming that the house was as it should be. Since the issues identified in the negative review had to do with the poor management of the home, we immediately contacted our property management agency. What we found was a management company that no longer was able to satisfy us nor meet their contractual obligations to keep our house in an acceptable condition. We have now moved our vacationhome to a new rental/property management agency. Since this move to a new agency, we have had several renters and positive feedback. This house is absolutely a treasure!!! We rented this house for a week in April to celebrate friendships and BIG birthday's and already are talking about wanting to go back again next year!! The location is perfect - comes with a beach parking pass to one of the nicest beaches I've seen in FL!!! The pictures of the house don't do it justice..it's actually much nicer than it looks!!! Very clean and well maintained! The pool area is AWESOME...great to relax by at any point during the day!!! You are close to everything you could possibly want!!! I would highly recommend this property to friends!!!
