Aloha Vacationer(s),
Why do so many want to stay at Island Colony #2206?
How many studio hotel rooms that are located in the Heart of Waikiki are within 6 minutes walk to the beach, have a 104 sq ft Lanai with clear glass railing, full kitchen, sleep 1 to 4, include free broad band Wifi within a secure building featuring resort like amenities? Not many. Not in this price range. Good luck!
Just what defines the Heart of Waikiki? A healthy debate!
It's only a 3 minute walk to the International Market Place where 1,224 people pass every 15 minutes during peak evening hours -- the highest concentration of pedestrian traffic in Waikiki, according to a study completed by the University of Hawaii. King William Kana'ina Lunalilo (1835- 1874), the first elected king in Hawaiian history, had a summer residence here. The site also offers nearby entertainment, dining, Hawaiian Heritage, asian culture and shopping at world-class Waikiki Beachwalk, Luxury Row and Royal Hawaiian Center. The condo is 4 minutes to the Royal Hawaiian Center , 6 minutes Waikiki Beachwalk , 8 minutes to Ft De Russy Park, 8 minutes to Luxury Row, 16 minutes to the Honolulu Zoo, 16 minutes to Kapiolani Park and 24 minutes to the Waikiki Aquarium.
When you consider pedestrian traffic density, history, closeness to the main attractions our location is the clear winner. If you stay at our condo you shouldn't need a car to enjoy Waikiki.
What's the point going all the way to Waikiki and not be able to lounge comfortably on your own Lanai, have different things to watch -- morning, noon, afternoon, evening and at night? In spite of that there are many hotel rooms in Waikiki with no Lanai. Some have a tiny ledge big enough for cramped seating. When it comes to Lanais, bigger is better! Our Lanai is a spacious 104 sq ft with outdoor furniture. Who wants to look through bars when they are sitting down? No one! That's why our contemporary clear see through glass railing is better!
What can you see from the Lanai? Rockpile surfbreak, awesome sunsets, starry nights, Friday evening fireworks, mid morning Manoa Valley rainbows, afternoon outrigger canoes paddling along the Ala Wai, Punchbowl National Monument - extinct volcano and the Ala Wai Golf course. Plenty! Will all the other studios have views with this much? Of course not. Just check out their photos -- or lack of them!
In today's connected world guests are often joined together at the hip with a Wireless device. Who wants a room with no Internet? Dial up? No Wifi? Per minute charges? Security issues? Are you out of your mind? Our unit comes with free, secure, dedicated, broadband Wifi. Once wired, always wired.
The variety and quality of food and restaurants in Waikiki is fantastic but who wouldn't appreciate the convenience, and cost saving option of their own fully equipped kitchen? Not a soul! In our kitchen you have a full size refrigerator, freezer, 2 burner cook top, microwave, garbage disposal, rice cooker, toaster, cookware and table ware -- mmmm. bring on the groceries and snacks!
Some Studios only sleep 2. Others that sleep 4 often have 2 queen size beds taking up too much floor space -- standing room only! Ours is and ideal combination, 1 queen bed and 1 queen Italian leather sofa sleeper. Beds are made up with 600 thread count linens, comfy comforters and cool pillows. It sleeps up to 4 guests, in style with room to stretch! This unit has a total of 413 sq ft living area (309 Interior and 104 Lanai)
And what of the bathroom? Ours has a built in cast iron tub, fixed shower head, corian shower walls and sink, toilet, a designer mirror, halogen pendant lighting, soffit lighting and forced air ventilation, towels included. -- deluxe features not commonly found in the other guy's units.
Even though there is so much to do and so many services nearby, isn't it fine to have a secure wrap-around 6th floor recreation terrace with a swimming pool, whirlpool, outdoor furniture, shady trellises and a sauna? And, if you need to get some small stuff or wash a load of laundry, there is a mini-mart and coin operated laundry on the same level. And for your peace of mind, the building has 24 hour security guards, cameras and a keyed entrance. To top it off, Island Colony is the tallest and largest building in Waikiki standing at 43 floors topped with a steep pitch roof over 700 units - even Trump Tower won't beat that! Just in case you are waiting to hook up with somebody and have nothing to do, there is free Wifi in the large, open air, tropical lobby. And there is no need to go hunting for parking when you can rent from Pro Park in the building, park for free along un-metered Ala Wai Blvd or utilize a plethora of other parking options.
For transportation convenience it's 1 minute to City Bus stop or Waikiki Trolley. Or it's zero minutes to Enterprise Rent A Car (cars and scooters) on the ground floor of the building. There are bicycle racks and surfboard storage on the ground floor as well.
OK. Go ahead and shop till you drop but we think you are beginning to see the difference between our condo and the other guys. Maybe you are even wondering if you've looked long enough!

We are comitted to serving you and making this your most spectacular vacation accomodation value ever!
Warm Regards, Mami & Robin

Great location! Condo is on a quiet street away from the noise and traffic, but an easy walk to everything. Several great resturants within 2 blocks. The beach is 10 minutes. We walked as far as the zoo, 20 minutes. The Bus stops less than a block away, and will take you all over honolulu and most of Ohau. The building is very quiet. We stayed 13 nites and heard noise from outside only one time. The view from the deck is awsome. You cant see much of the ocean but the mountains are nice, and the city lights at nite is great. The only drawback is the lack of closet space. After 2 weeks we had bought a lot of stuff to take home, and space was a little tight. We thought we would do a lot of cooking to save money, but prices are very high, and many resturants had great specials or coupons. we cooked 3 meals there and ate out the rest. Hey, you are on vacation, try something different, and the resturants are diverse. If this is your first time in Hawaii, try to spend over a week here. There is a lot more than beaches here.
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to post a detailed review :) It was great to have the opportunity to host you and we look forward to the next opportunity to accommodate you or your friends! Aloha, Mami and Robin

Safety is my first concern and it was comforting knowing that there is a locked entry and security. The studio is quiet, clean and bug free. It has an extra firm mattress and all the kitchenware you will need. Perfect for a single or couple. Close to restaurants, shopping, bus and trolley. Owners are quick to notify you of your refund and they are there for any of your needs. I would consider renting there again.
Owner response:We thank you for your effort to write a review. That you enjoyed the unit, building, location and our service gives us great satisfaction. We appreciate that you took such excellent care of the condo during your stay and look forward to serving you again:) Aloha, Mami and Robin

The condo was clean, quaint, cozy and comfortably slept four people. The view was great both during the day and night! The lanai was an added bonus! The place had everything one wanted: wide screen TV (cable, Wi-Fi), cooking utensils, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very happy that the condo was only a few mintues away from Waikiki Beach and the many different tourist attractions. Thank Robin and Mami for your hospitality.
Owner response:Ed, Thank you for taking the time to write your guest comments:) We are delighted you enjoyed the condo and location. Thank you for taking care of the condo like it was your own home. We look forward to serving you, your friends and colleagues again. Aloha, Mami and Robin

The location was great. Parking was an adventure, but we only paid twice...my son pitched well [at UH vs Sacramento State baseball games], and we could see his hotel room from the balcony! We would be happy to keep your place in mind when we come back next year. We had a great time, but need more. Thanks for you promptness on my deposit. Have a great Easter. Diana S., Sacramento, CA
