Very nice place but......

Let me start by saying the unit was very nice..better than we expected. The bay was wonderful to sit and read a book or fish. We even saw a group of manatees. We had a wonderful vacation BUT when we arrived the pool was closed and under a major renovation. This would not have been a problem if we had known ahead of time and had the opportunity to find another place but that was not the case. We found out when my husband and 2 children went to find the pool after a long drive from Chicago. The owner offered to give us a few days extra which we were unable to do since we don't get much vacation time. He then gave us some money off the bill. I would have GLADLY paid more for a unit with a pool and more importantly would have greatly appreciated a "heads up". I've learned from this experience, my first with VRBO, to call the office before we arrive to make sure the important details like the pool (my only criteria besides 2 bedrooms) are in working order.

We were not disappointed--it was even better than we expected. The proximity to the dock and the pool was perfect for our interests. We would recommend this property highly for being clean, well maintained and the owners were friendly and accomodating of our arrival time, etc. Our favorite spot in the area is Captain Curt's with their award winning clam chowder and other seafood dishes.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
