  This was our first time traveling outside the US, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The Loquats was exactly as expected and the owners were both extremely friendly and helpful. We would absolutely recommend this apartment, as it was easily accessible to the buses, quiet and relaxing, and stocked with the essentials for a wonderful trip. Thank you for making our stay "just what the doctor ordered."

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  My fiance and myself had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home. It was truly amazing! The home is not to close to the main city which is perfect at night! The family is very nice and not intrusive. They will greet you when you arrive and see you when you leave. It really feels like you are home, everything you could possibly need or want is at your disposal. The family really took care of us! We are definetly going to return to Bermuda and this gem in paradise.

  We just returned from our 1 week at the Loquats. It was a perfect place for what we needed. Our 2 year old son loved it and was excited every day, by mid-week calling it "home" when we'd arrive. He enjoyed the steep climb to the apartment. The private patio was a huge bonus given the windy but sunny weather as it provided shelter but warm sun to sit in and relax. Our son loved running around and playing out there which expanded our living space and it was very safe that we didn't have to monitor his movements. Also the access from both rooms was an added benefit (which he also enjoyed). The bus was conveniently located as was the small local grocery store for small items; the larger store being a short bus ride. Whale bay was beautiful (although we took a much too long route) and the railway trail was very nice. The ferry to Hamilton was also an easy walk in the morning. The only negative we found was that there was no restaurant within close proximity (walking distance). Unfortunately New Traditions is currently closed, unsure if it will reopen. We made our meals majority of the time which worked well for us and the apartment is well stocked with all that you will need, however would have loved to walk to a restaurant on occasion. Restaurants are within a short taxi ride, however. And the bed is very comfortable! We would stay here again without question, except if/when we return we would like to see the other side of the island and therefore would situate ourselves accordingly. This is a very good deal for what you get - laundry included! Very sorry to their daughter for our son waking her up on one occasion. And they were very kind and concerned when we arrived without one of our bags - even called wondering if we made it back at the end of a long day. Was nice to know someone was "looking" out for us. Wonderful people and place. Can't say enough.

Don't wait too long before your next Bermuda vacation! We are only a short airplane ride away!

  We always stay in a hotel usually at the Marriott, Westin, Sheraton or Hilton for our numerous trips. However, the hotel prices in Bermuda are very steep so I searched for an affordable place at vrbo for the first time and found the Loquats in Sandy’s Parish. Rosalyn Minors was quick in responding to my email that her guest house was available for my husband and my week’s vacation in Bermuda. Her house and grounds are absolutely beautiful so when we opened the guest house, we surely found a beautiful and clean 1 bedroom apartment plus a patio which you can access from the living room and from the bedroom. I was able to cook breakfast and some meals in the kitchen as all the kitchen items I needed were there. It is very private and quiet except for the whistling frogs at night which I love…. as I discovered them when we were in Barbados. The house is next to a golf course and it is about a 10 minute walk to the main road where you can catch a bus to any place in the island. Rosalyn provided a book of 15 discounted tickets which you can purchase and it was so worth it for the convenience plus the money we saved. She thought of all the things one would need to have a fun vacation especially the beach towels. Some vrbos do not provide them so I am glad I do not have to bring my own. I am an avid snorkeler so with my equipment plus other stuff to bring, this is one less item to add to my luggage as I like to travel light. We were able to walk to Whale Beach which a visitor should visit and we also walked to a rocky beach in Benny Road which is also fun to go to. We went to several other gorgeous beaches by bus and also visited the Gibbs lighthouse which I climbed. The view from the top is spectacular. Bermuda is the best island we have visited as compared to other Carribean islands (alhough I know it is not in the Carribean sea) because it is so clean and safe plus the Bermudians are very friendly. For my future trips, I will now check vrbo’s as we had a good experience at the Loquats. I highly recommend a stay at her house and you will have a wonderful Bermuda vacation! Thank you for having the privilege of staying at the Loquats. (BTW, Rosalyn is as pretty as her daughter, Rochelle, who is Miss Bermuda 2012!)

  We had a great stay at this property. Rosalyn was quick to respond to all my questions in advance of our stay. When we arrived, the information binders helped us get up to speed on what to see around the island. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some of our own meals. The property is located close to bus stops which makes travel to beaches and towns easy. It is also a short walk to a small grocery store. A well kept, quiet place perfect for our family.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

  My family stayed at this lovely apartment for 4 nights. It was perfect for us. Bus stop was a few minutes walk, the apartment is very clean, comfortable and has everything we need. Rosalyn and Marshall treated us like real friends from the day we inquired about their property. We had a great time in Bermuda!

  We loved it here, 5 minute walk to the bus stop. Rosalyn and Marshall were very nice, personable and accommodating. The property was beautiful. A local restaurant also 5 minutes away called Traditions. We picked up lunch on a few afternoons and went back to the apartment and ate on the patio. This is the way to go to Bermuda. Much better than any hotel room. We would definitely do this again. Tom & Donna - MA

  Wow, what a great apartment, with even greater hosts! We absolutely loved our stay here in Bermuda. The place was within walking distance of the bus stops, which allowed us to visit different parts of this amazing country without spending lots on taxis. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and perfect for our little family. The Minor family was friendly and welcoming. The thoughtful details in the apartment made our trip so easy... from the beach towels and umbrella in the closet to the wonderful private patio area where we ate every single one of our meals. The Minors even include bus passes in the apartment so we could just take those and pay them back... so helpful! We were also able to walk to the grocery store, 2 beaches and the ferry, all from the apartment. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is interested in travelling to Bermuda. Bermuda is a wonderful country filled with beautiful beaches, a rich history, and the friendliest people (like our hosts). Thank you for such a magical vacation!

  We stayed at the Loquats cottage next door for 4 days from June 19th to the 23rd. Well loved our stay in Bermuda. The cottage was more than adequate with air conditioning (thank God!), a full kitchen, BBQ and a television (the World Cup was on and we didn't want to miss it!). Marshall and Rosalyn were excellent hosts, constantly ensuring that we were comfortable. They had bus passes and information about the island readily available for us on arrival. We loved our stay in Bermuda and will definitely be back. In comparison with the prices that the resorts were asking, this cottage was a true bargain.

  We returned from an 8 day stay at the Loquats apartment on July 5, 2010. If we could only have stayed a little longer!! The location is great and as listed in the description very close (easily walkable) to the bus and scooter rental. We have visited Bermuda for the past 11 years and found this apartment to be an excellent choice for lodging. The photos and description and other reviews of the apartment are accurate and it is very clean and well maintained. The walk-in closet offers lots of space and there were all the necessaties available, including extras such as a beach umbrella, rain umbrellas, and even a inflatable tube. Very nearby (could be walked in 20-25 minutes) is the Pompano Beach Club with great ocean and sunset views and two very fine restaurants with entertainment in the bar. Pompano is aware of The Loquats and was even able to provide us free transportation home on two of the nights we visited their Restaurants (no guarantee of this, but they were very accommodating). My wife and I are comfortable on a scooter, but do not like to drive after dark, so this allowed us to scooter to Pompano and ride home. I would walk back to retrieve the scooter the next day. The one night a ride was not available the short scooter ride home was no problem. On longer distance excursions at night we would take the bus and get a taxi home. We enjoyed going to Dockyard (see the dolphins), Hamilton, St. George, and of course the beaches (Horseshoe Bay, Warwick Long Bay, West Whale Bay). We also had two very relaxing evenings enjoying a BBQ in the lovely patio area. Our hosts Roslyn and Marshal were very friendly and had lots of information available including bus tickets for sale if needed. We had a great time and hope to return next year. We would highly recommend a vacation at this property.
