  We have stayed at Castaway now for 4 years in the month of May and would not stay anywhere else. We ride bikes everywhere so we do not have to pay for parking and it is close enough to get everywhere (beach, downtown, restaurants, etc). The cottage is perfect for us (just two) but could accommodate more folks). We just don't want anything smaller, as we can spread out and be on the porch, or in our rooms, or in the living room. The place is in a quiet location and on a great tree-lined street. The amenities are perfect and if you ask for something additional that you might need, they accommodate you. ALL IS GOOD!

  This is the third Mermaid cottage we have rented and have been very satisfied overall. Would highly recommend.

  Loved the castaway cottage. Walked to beach for sunrise. Amazing location and very quiet street. The decor made us feel like the florida of my youth. Very comfortable and spacious for our grandchildren and the two of us. Love the mermaids. Special time with our little ones. We love Tybee!

  Loved Castaway cottage!! Just what I expected it to be. Very cheerfully decorated! Great location, short walk to beach. This was our first time there but definitely won't be our last.

  The Castaway cottage on Tybee was absolutely fantastic!!! It literally looked just like the pictures (which doesn't usually happen) and was so cute and comfortable we immediately felt at home. The location was perfect; only a 5 min stroll to a non-crowded beach where there were no painful sea shells to step on, it's only a block away from the local grocery store and a 1/2 mile (still walking distance) to the more touristy pier area of Tybee. At night you don't hear a single car and the rooms are pitch black since there are no streetlights outside the windows. I brought along a UK friend who had never been to a beach before and to quote her "I never realized why people were so obsessed with beach vacations before, now I don't want to leave!" Thank you Mermaid for making our stay wonderful! We will definitely be back!!!!

  We were so happy with the Castaway. Great size for our family of 5. It was both cuter and roomier than the pictures portrayed. Our teenage daughters quickly made themselves at home in the small bedroom and lounge that at one time must have been a porch. Location made it easy for them to walk to stores/restaurants on the north or south end of the island and the walk to the beach is a breeze. We loved Tybee's small town vibe. Since it was late August, we had huge swathes of the beach to ourselves and sat right down in every restaurant. We would happily recommend this or another Mermaid Cottage and hope to return ourselves, especially if our daughter chooses Emory for college. Mermaids responded quickly to a plumbing issue and we loved an afternoon charter to Little Tybee with Captain Rene, who we found on the Mermaid website.

  We loved our stay in Castaway! The location was just two blocks from the beach and the neighborhood was very quiet. We will be using Mermaid Cottages when we return to Tybee! Great experience!

  Having stayed at Castaway cottage a few years ago, I was concerned that it might not have been updated. I was very pleased when arriving that the owners have kept the house updated, and added some lovely features. It was very clean, and Jan was a pleasure to work with - as usual!
