It's always difficult to decide on a place from afar. Jim was very helpful all through and did not 'over sell' the place. When we arrived we were delighted to find such a clean well furnished condo so close to sandy beaches, shops, restaurants and other necessities. Having a three bedroom condo was so much better for our family to bond and hang out together versus taking three rooms and meeting occasionally. View was breath taking from the balcony, the breeze heavenly and proximity to the beach excellent. We couldn't have asked for more.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 90 y/o mother, two sisters and I spent a week at this beautiful, comfortable, ground floor condo. With three bedrooms, we had all the space we needed. My mother was able to sit on the patio and watch the ocean, and we felt very safe leaving her when she wasn't up to some of our more vigorous excursions. Everything described in the listing (views, amenities, supplies, etc) were exactly what we expected. Jim, the owner, was very helpful in responding to our questions about activities, internet access, parking, and we always heard back from him quickly. The outdoor gas grills were great, and we cooked outside several times. We were amazing that there are almost no bugs in Maui, so we could really enjoy being outside, even at the times when mosquitoes usually gather in other locations. A really special part of our visit was the attention paid to our mom, in honoring her 90th birthday. Hawaiians seem so respectful and helpful to older individuals, and really made her birthday a notable occasion, one worth celebrating. Humpback whales were migrating when we were in Maui, and we saw them almost every day. We could even hear their songs while snorkeling. This condo is a great place for a family vacation, and is especially convenient for seniors who may need a little help getting from place to place. We would all highly recommend this property to people who are coming to Maui and want a lovely, centrally located, fully equipped place to call home for the duration of their stay.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We've been to Kihei many times but never in a picture perfect spot as this condominium has. Just great! Lovely lanai to spot the whales every day. The condo is very comfortable and spacious, nicely decorated. Close enough to the real hussle and bussle in Kihei road yet very relaxed at the condo. Beautiful beaches all around. Just the perfect location! Lovely place to stay, highly recommended.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We had an amazing time in your wonderful piece of paradise. Your condo was more than we could have ever hoped for - it was the best rental I have ever stayed in. Thank you too for the information regarding all of the shopping and activities for us during our stay. We were so glad to see how wonderfully clean the condo was and how spacious and beautiful it was when we finally arrived. We left Toronto at 8:00 am and were due to arrived in Maui at 6:00 pm (your time) - a long day of 14 hours which included the 2 connections we had to make. We actually arrived at the condo at 4:30 am - it took us 28 hours to get there. We had plane problems in Chicago (sat on the runway for 3 hours), ended up missing our connection in San Francisco to Maui, got a flight to Los Angeles after a 2 hour wait, spent 3 hours in Los Angeles airport, boarded the plane only to be told that there were problems with the plane and that they were getting another one for us, waited over 2 hours in the airport before boarding and getting to Maui. We were exhausted and cranky but once we got to your place, our moods quickly changed. It was the paradise we needed. You were right in telling me that we were not spending enough time in Maui. The Hawaiian Islands have become our favourite vacation spot after this trip ( we had been the year before for 2 weeks and had stayed in Oahu) and we will be coming back to Maui in about 2 years. If we have other couples travelling with us, I hope that we can book your place again. Thank you again for everything.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

In January, I travelled with two girlfriends to this Maui Paradise Oceanfront condo and it was wonderful. We picked up our rental car at the airport and were at the condo in less than 30 minutes. The building was easy to find and as the suite is on the ground floor, parked right outside our front door. No elevators or long hallways. Loved the keyless, code entry lock. No sharing or fussing with keys. We just opened the door and were immediately in awe with the view. The ocean was so close it looked like it could lap up on to the patio. The condo was beautiful. Three spacious bedrooms, two of which were waterfront. We had all wanted our own bedrooms and I stayed in the bedroom away from the water. I had a king size bed and found it quiet. No road noise. We made great use of the kitchen as well as the BBQ’s. The view from our patio was amazing. After watching the glorious sunsets, we were off to the nearby BBQ’s and dined, by candlelight, at our patio table. When you stepped off our patio, it was on to the lawn. Then there are palm trees, a walkway and then the sea wall. The beaches were beautiful and just steps away, both north and south of us. We certainly enjoyed the pool daily. The whales were numerous and we’d watch them leap out of the water right from our condo. Shopping and restaurants were all very accessible. We took short car trips each day and always returned again to park at our front door. The suite was well equipped and information was provided on local activities. We swam (with the turtles), snorkeled (equipment rental locally) and kayaked. Of course there were also lunches out and shopping. The design of the condo and its’ location could not have been better. Loved it and I highly recommend to others.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I had not been to Maui in 25 years, so I was very excited to see it again. I wondered if it had changed much! In looking for a three bedroom condo, it was going to be on the ground floor and on the ocean. Jim and Audry's condo was picture perfect. In fact the photo's on the web did not show just how close you are to the ocean and how beautiful the grounds are kept. Jim was the perfect communicator thru emails and telephone leading up to our trip. He offered many tips to make our vacation better. It was a pleasure to work with him! We had many conversations with others around the BBQ's and the pool and because our lanai was ground level, people walking by would stop for a chat as well. Everyone was on vacation and was happy. Each morning, replica's of Hawaiian outriggers would paddle into the ancient fish pond directly in front of our unit and it felt like the Hawaiians were coming to see us. Of course it was just tourists like us, but one can imagine. Each morning a swim on the beach just steps away, breakfast on the Lanai, a small adventure into town and then back to the pool. But only until 5:00pm! Then it was time for Mai Tai's on the Lanai to watch the sun set. In our condo building, several conch shells were blown to whisper goodbye to the sun. How haunting! Each sunset was beautiful and different than the one before. And all from our Lanai! We could even see the grey whales far out in the ocean, blowing and playing. We did have the need for some small help in the condo and Jim’s property manager, Richard, solved our problem quickly and pleasantly. That was a real comfort for us that we had access to a real person just in case. I would recommend the Pride of Maui day snorkelling/whale watching trip. Great value and very professional and I got to swim with the turtles! Also the food truck "Kinaole Grill" on Alanui Ke just across the street from Kam 1 beach was amazing food. The Menehune Shores is located in North Kihei and is quieter than South Kihei. We loved the location, our condo location and the size of the unit. Three good size bedrooms, new laundry machines and two full bathrooms. Back to….Has Maui changed much in 25 years? If you sit on your lanai and look out to the ocean and neighbouring islands and listen to the soft trade winds and smell the plumeria in the air, the answer is no. It still is a Paradise and I will certainly go back to the paradise condo Maui.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of five stayed in this condo and loved the great location and perfect views of the incredible Maui sunsets. The grassy area was wonderful for our kids to play on, and the kid friendly beach was a favorite spot. The condo is spacious and well equipped, the kitchen and bathrooms could use a little refresh but the layout was ideal and the tropical decor felt very 'Hawaiian'. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family! We enjoyed the Marine Centre, Maui Tropical Plantation tour, the Coconut Fish cafe in Kihei, and the Hula Grill in Kaanapali. Kamaole II beach is perfect for boogie boarding!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

This condo was very comfortable and felt more like a "home" than a "condo". The view off the lanai was divine, from sunrise to sunset. (Nothing quite like a full moon over the water.) The location of the complex is great: easy drive north to the harbor for water adventures, to the airport, and to Haleakala Park for hiking. It's also a couple of miles north of the very busy center of Kihei. The only things missing were simple cooking tools...garlic press, small manual juicer, SHARP knives, etc, but those things probably disappear over time. The whole area is peaceful & calm, including the beaches. I could easily return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

First of all, Jim was a perfect host. His condo, although in a somewhat dated older building, was clean and well prepared. The bathrooms look to have been updated, and the beds are comfortable. I think the pictures on this site were taken with a wide angle lens, and make the rooms seem larger than they are, but three adults were very comfortable there. . The unit is oceanfront, but not beachfront. The beach is off to the side, and a bit narrow and rocky. The water is shallow out for quite a distance, so there is no surf to speak of. Paddleboards are available at the park next door, and this is a perfect place to try this sport. Kids are also very safe in the water due to it's shallow depth. The grounds are impeccable, and there is a wonderful grass buffer between the condo and the rock wall that separates it from the water. Some people pull up chairs there for sunbathing. The building is very quiet and peaceful even during the Christmas season. There is an Indian restaurant in the complex where you can bring your own wine...I'd order from the menu, and avoid the buffet. In summation, I would easily return if I wanted peace and quiet, and didn't want to body surf or snorkel. A nice, affordable place.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children.

Our family had a fantastic time at this condo. The view was fantastic and the condo was great and spacious, just as advertised. The proximity to the old Kalepolepo fishing pond was also a great surprise (must have missed it in the write-ups). Our four-year-old was a bit skittish around waves so the protected waters were perfect for finally getting him to go in and have fun! The property manager was also very prompt in responding to one of the few issues we had (a couple burners on the stove had become disconnected), showing up within a couple hours.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Three generations of our family visited Maui and had a wonderful time. The condo was an ideal size for us and well equipped and looked just as advertised. It was very clean and the entire complex neat and well maintained. The first night, after the long flight, we ate at the Monsoon India, just down the hall. If you like East Indian food, you'll love it. Granddaughter found the samosas and channa dal irresistible. We also visited the whale museum right next door--great slide show presentation-and next day went on whale watch and saw the Humpbacks. Watched green turtles from lanai as well as paddle-boarders, wind-surfers, parasailing: great afternoon show every day. Beautiful sunsets, beautiful beaches to walk or swim or snorkel or fish. We'd certainly recommend to friends and family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful condo with the best view in the place. We spent most of our time on the lanai chatting and enjoying the view. The condo was clean, nicely laid out and had lots of amenities. We had one issue and were able to reach the manager immediately. We loved that we could walk right out of the lanai and be on the grassy area, and we were less than 100 yards from two beach access points. We made use of the barbecues (50 yards away) and they were really nice, clean and easy to use. Even the pool was great (we didn't think we'd use it, but it looked so inviting we spent a lot more time there than we planned!) The location within Kihei was really nice too, we were close to everything we needed without being in the high traffic zone. One thing worth pointing out - this condo is on the beach side of the road, unlike most of the condos you can rent in Kihei. That is much nicer all around - no lugging stuff across the road to get set up, we just grabbed our snorkel gear and walked out the lanai. The owners do a great job of making it homey too, we all felt very comfortable right away.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband & I, along with 2 of our sons & their wives, stayed here and it was a great choice for us. Each couple had their own bedroom and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, containers for leftovers; coffee pot, toaster, etc. The view is beautiful; to see the ocean while sitting on the lanai, in the living room, or in the kitchen is awesome. The pool at the condo was nice and clean, and never crowded. The beach is shallow and would be perfect if you have young kids. I would rent this condo again without any hesitation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Thank you Jim and Audrey for letting us share your slice of paradise. We arrived and it is everything is as you listed it would be! It was very clean and very welcoming! Beds were comfy and sheets were great. We did try to use the BB-Q the first night but it was quite windy but the rest of the week were grilling almost every night. It didn't have air conditioning but that was no problem with all the windows and fans. Towels were provided and the washer and dryer were a great plus. There is the two showers outside on the property so it was great to rinse off before we returned to condo. Vacuums, brooms, and alot of good ammenities plus wonderful Maui books with all you need to know. It is quite close to everything no long drives to the grocery stores or to Costco to pick up supplies we needed. I would suggest to make sure you do pick up some laundry soap I forgot to get some we had to take a short drive down the street to Longs. Longs to my suprise was quite reasonable in cost so we took many trips there. We also loved the outside market across the street from Longs as well. I had my 3 young adult children with me and they bought alot of souveniors there as well as the ABC store down the other way. We went to a Luau that was not far at all but I would recommend the Old Lahaina one been to both and Old Lahaina was more traditional. We went to Big Beach and Little Beach and loved them not recommending taking small children though pretty wavy! Took the trip to Molokini and that was quite fun even though we found so many more great snorkeling spots just by driving around the island. I will highly recommend this place to family and friends. Jim and Audrey were very attentive to all the questions we had and answered them right away. I enjoyed our stay there so much. One of the main dislikes I have is that we had to come home back to reality!!! Mahalo! John R. Thanks so much for the use of your condo. The location was great, easy to get to other parts of the island. Setup was just what we needed for 6 adults. We loved being on the ground floor, able to park and walk right in along with easy access to the beach areas and ocean from the lanaii. Also appreciated the restaurant suggestions - true local food at the Da Kitchen, Aloha Mixed Plate. Everything worked out great. Also appreciate the quick responses to all questions that we had.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just wanted you to know how much we are loving your Maui condo - you have the absolute best set up here and we feel so lucky to have been able to use it. We cannot get over how close we are to the water from the lanai and so love that you have a walk out unit. I think our favourite part of it all is the beach front/roof top BBQ - we have had some very special family time with dinners there. We are truly appreciating every moment in your beautiful Maui home and all of us keep saying how we just have to come back. There is nothing like waking up in beautiful Maui listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore. This condo is in a great location in Kihei. We loved taking morning walks on the beach, sipping coffee on the lanai while watching a sea lion play in the ocean in front of us. Just be considerate of those who enforce 'quiet time'. The afternoons were very windy, we spent that time visiting other areas in Maui (Makena was a favorite, beautiful beach and excellent snorkeling). We ended each day watching the sunset from the condo as we BBQ'd dinner. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home during our vacation.Did you find this review helpful? The stay at this condo was one of the best times I have ever experienced. From the easy access to the condo, and ocean view to the green grass off the lanai everything was perfect! Our view was amazing, the condo is with in walking distance of several shops and centrally located for easy access to Lahaina and wailea. The condo had everything we needed to make us feel like we were at home. I highly recommend this condo to anyone who has teenagers, the 3rd bedroom kept the teenagers at bay while the adults had access to the lanai from both of the overly large master bedrooms!! My husband and I, our two high school graduates and my mother-in-law stayed in this terrific condo where we enjoyed the sunset every night from the good-sized lanai. The water right outside the door was so nice to hear as we went to sleep every night. The property is a little older, but well maintained. We used the lawn, pool and BBQ areas every day for playing catch, frisbee, cooling off and making meals that we could enjoy from our lanai. Jim made our reservations easy, quickly answered all of our questions, and provided excellent information regarding things to do and see on the island. We would definitely stay here again if the occasion comes along (and we will likely have to find some excuse to make sure it does!) It is a great place to socialize and compare our daily notes with other visitors! For the money there is no better value!! We stayed in this 3 bedroom unit with 4 other adults and 2 teenagers for 2 weeks and then my parents stayed for an entire month. It is in a great location. Great access to 2 beaches and access to a fish pond for wonderful swimming for little ones. It has a wonderful swimming pool also. The property itself was VERY clean and well-maintained. If we needed anything, all we had to do was call or ask and we didn't have a problem getting it. We cooked our meals about half of the time we stayed here and there is 6 grills on the property, which was very nice. We stayed in a ground floor unit, which made access to the outside especially easy and wonderful to just wake up in the morning to the beautiful Maui scenery. We would recommended renting a car, as almost everything is at least 1 mile away or further. But, we did walk also. We highly recommended staying here! And we hope to come back someday! It was also very quiet and just a great getaway vacation. There is no a/c but we were fine with the open windows and ceiling fans, although we went in March. For eating, we highly recommend Fred's Mexican Cafe, 808 Bistro, Ono Gelato, Jawz Tacos, and for beaches the Kamaelo Beaches 1, 2 and 3 and drive down to Makena and see Turtle Town and the Black Sand Beach. Also shopping in Lahaina is fabulous and take a day trip to Pa'ia and eat at Mama's Fish House! It's expensive, but TOP NOTCH and a 4 star restaurant and absolutely beautiful scenery that you will NEVER forget! Also the Hana Tour is a must. And if you want to give snorkeling a try, Molokini was beautiful. Anyway, we loved staying at Menehune Shores. It was a vacation we will never forget and Menehune Shores provided our home away from home:)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had 3 couples stay here for two weeks, and loved every minute of it! It's just far enough out downtown Kihei that we didn't feel crowded, but close enough to everything that we didn't spend our lives in a car. Clean, quiet, all the right amenities, and right on the water. Afternoon whale watching was spectacular!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great condo! Good location in Maui, very central to most Maui destinations. Views were absolutely fantastic! 1st level access is also really nice. Condo was spacious for 6 adults and 2 children. Good condo layout as well. Owners were very professional. We really appreciated the prompt email responses. We would recommend this condo to anyone requiring a 3 bedroom condo. Aloha, Jim and Audrey! Just wanted to let you and anyone interested in renting your little slice of heaven that our family vacation/wedding was nothing short of fabulous!!! This condo is even better than the pictures can show. My husband and myself with our 3 kids stayed here and had plenty of room to spread out, relax and unwind. For being a somewhat larger condo complex I was amazed at how quiet this condo seemed, we met some lovely canadians next door that liked to party and we never heard them in our unit, only thing we heard at night was the sound of the surf :) The rooftop bbq area was a great place to relax and watch for whale spouts and the awesome sun sets! We truly enjoyed our time here and would definately recommend this rental to everyone. The only thing that was alittle bothersome was that it seemed all the surfaces had been wiped down with something very oily, wasn't a huge deal as I have a tendency to wipe everything down before I use it anyway but it sure made the counters and tabletop not "feel" very clean. Regardless of that we are hoping to return to your condo in the future! The location is perfect and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay!! Thanks again for opening your hawaiian home up to us and we look forward to returning soon!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Condo was as described and location was great! Ground floor was great for ease of access to beach and neighboring condo, which we also rented. Kitchen had plenty of everything. The only thing that would have made the stay better would be more comfortable beds, but all in all a good place! The owners are great to work with and answer e-mails promptly. Great access to Kihei, Maalea and Lahina. Try Beach Bums in Maalea, a great place to eat! Also enjoyed Moose Magillicuddy in Kihei. The aquarium is well worth the ticket price. Also went fishing on the Lucky Strike II, great crew and highlight of the trip!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The condo was a spacious, clean 3-bedroom unit - two of the bedrooms faced the ocean . Centrally located in Kihei, well-maintained property - barbeques available on ground level or rooftop. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night from our lanai - very relaxing - pool is clean and warm with easy access to the beach on either side. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return in the not to distant future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, we couldn't believe how close we were to the water. It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai in the early mornings and evenings and just enjoy the scenery. My husband and I stayed in your lovely condo with our five adult children. There was plenty of sleeping room with the three bedrooms and the sofa sleeper. We enjoyed the breeze running through the condo when we would open the lanai doors and the front door. There were plenty of fans to keep the air circulating and comfortable. We didn't need airconditioning; that was the one thing I was concerned about. But it worked out fine. One of the boys got up early and paddle surfed every morning and then again in the evening. The kids all enjoyed going down and walking on the nearby beaches. Our oldest even proposed to his girlfriend there on the beach! She said "yes" by the way. Jim was super to work with, very amenable and friendly. The condo management staff was friendly and helpful although their office hours were very limited. All in all we had a wonderful stay. The kids cooked dinner several of the nights we were there and used the BBQs by the pool and the pool occasionally. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals; although we didn't cook much. If we have a large group, we would definitely rent this condo again. This was the kids' first trip to Hawaii. They had a blast and all of them said they would rent this condo again. It's great for a "family" vacation. This was our first VRBO rental and we were very satisfied :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My sister, niece (18) and nephew (21) and their boyfriend and girlfriend and I came to Maui to celebrate my niece's high school graduation. I had found this condo online on this site and after reading the reviews decided to book. What a great choice we made! Everyone was so excited when we walked in and saw the beautiful lanai and ocean view. Wow! We enjoyed many beautiful evenings on the patio eating dinner that had been grilled on the barbecues. The photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and ameneties and the grounds are very well cared for. It was postcard perfect on our ocean side. The sunsets are out of this world and something one could never get tired of. We did the mountain bike ride down Haleakala, diving with the Maui Dive Shop, parasailing with West Maui parasail in Lahaina, hiking in East Maui with Hike Maui and my sister and I went to the magic show at Warren and Annabelle's in Lahaina. All of the activities were great This was a great location for getting to all of these activities. There are also many beautiful beaches in Kihei and so we snorkeled and boogie boarded a lot too. This was a beautiful vacation and we hope to return again. Jim was attentive and helpful at all times from the booking to our arrival. He made everything very easy. We all can highly recommend this condo to anyone.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A wonderful familly vacation was enjoyed at Jim and Audrey's condo in Kihei. The pictures on the website showed what the inside looked like but the view was even better. Absolutely beautiful. The sound of the waves at night was peaceful. We had everything needed to prepare meals. The rooftop for grilling was great even when it was very windy. Sitting on the lanai at night watching the sun go down after a long day of sightseeing or snorkeling was a great way to end a paradise day. Jim was very helpful and easy to contact. Many places to eat and getting to all the many activities was a breeze from the condo location. We would highly recommend this place to family and friends and would definately rent this place again. Thank you again for a wonderful family vacation in your little paradise on Maui.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Aloha! After a one week whirlwind vacation to Maui (far too short a duration), we've had time to reflect on this wonderful sojourn. A huge part of the vacations' success was because of the superb accommodations we experienced while in Maui. The condo owned by Jim and Audrey Speth is perfect in our opinion. The moment we entered it, we were greeted by a Hawaiian welcome on the entry hall wall. That set the stage for our next surprise which was the magnificent lanai and view. The far living room wall is entirely glass with a huge sliding glass door which never failed to frame the amazing and always tremendous views of the Pacific, the island Lanai, as well as west Maui. We had our grown children with us on this trip and never felt crowded. The three bedrooms were very nicely appointed and the beds were very comfortable. There is very nice separation between the bedrooms yet all three open into the living room/dining room areas providing a very easy, comfortable feel. The floor plan is quite efficient. Even though there is no air conditioning, the combination of the cooler tropical evening breezes in conjunction with new ceiling fans throughout, made it very comfortable. After just a short time, we all felt right at home. The kitchen provided very good working space and the Speth family has made certain that there are plenty of utensils, plates, glassware, etc. The proximity of this home to the ocean, the beaches, the Hawaiian fishing ponds, restaurants, and shopping cannot be overemphasized. There were always more than enough parking spaces available upon returning from our different adventures. We found ourselves spending our times of rest and relaxation out on the wonderful lanai. Watching the outriggers paddle by as we enjoyed meals on the lanai was a treat. The condo grounds, just a step off from the lanai, are immaculately groomed and the palm trees adjacent to the lanai are beautiful. Finally, the rooftop views of the islands are incredible. Rooftop Gas Bar-B-Cues are available for use by guests and we enjoyed having sunset grilled dinners while taking in the beauty. It is with great pleasure that we highly recommend this condo home. We already know that at some point, we will return to it. Mahalo and Aloha! We had a wonderful stay at Menehune Shores. There was plenty of room for the family of 4 couples and a 10mo old. Jim was excellent to work with. He gave us plenty of info on local restaurants, grocery stores, and even info of the best place to rent a crib and high chair which was delivered to the condo before we arrived. We ate most meals at the condo and made great use of the BBQ. The sunsets were amazing! Can't wait to go back and stay there again!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Verhungern konnte man dort nicht :-) While most of our guests come from the United States and Canada, we also have guests from Australia, and various countries in Europe & Asia. Being from Vienna, Austria, Christine write her review in German. Below is the English translation of her review. Mahalo / Danke / Thank you. "Paradise on Maui" The contact with the owners was really pleasant and courteous as well as helpful. The apartment was very lovely, clean and included all comforts. The beds had very comfortable mattresses. In the evening we sat on the Lanai, quite comfortable as we were sheltered from the wind and were able to look out on the ocean. We also saw whales. It is so incredibly wonderful there; the surroundings are a paradise. The beach is very close and for strolling along the ocean (the apartment) is extremely well situated. Very close by there are many restaurants. One certainly would not go hungry there! :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 11/11

"Paradise in paradise what else can you ask for?" This condo is spacious, well laid out, perfect for families in a quiet and gorgeous setting. The ocean with turtles, whales and dolphins are just feet away from the large, protected lanai. Excellent pool with a terrific sheltered beach that is perfect for younger kids and non-swimmers. Just around the corner is another beach that you can swim, surf, wind surf, kite surf, snorkel or sun bathe to your heart's content. Nothing but sand and sun. After 6 previous Maui visits, this condo gets our highest praise for value, location, comfort and being well equipped. Absolutely ideal for families but quiet enough for couples to enjoy a romantic getaway. We hope to enjoy this slice of paradise again in the near future.Did you find this review helpful? My family walked in the condo at 11:00pm after a 5 hour flight, dropped their bags and said "It looks exactly like the pictures." And from then on things got better. The sunsets were fantastic, the trade winds warm and not so gentle but they did keep the humidity down. Everytime the family gathered (6 adults and a 9 month old) it was out on the lanai. We literally picked up all the sand toys, snorkeling gear and chairs from the closet and stashed them in the car were they remained for 9 days. Sunsets on the rooftop while barbequeing while we sipped wine and rum drinks are some memories that I will hold on to forever. There wasn't a single thing that we needed that wasn't already available for our use. The beds were very comfortable, the linens high quality and the option of twins or queen in the back bedroom was a definite perk!!! Kihei is a wonderful location, not to busy and easy access to drive in any direction. Thank you so much! We look forward to a return trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This condo is the perfect idea if you want to relax, hang out with friends or family and have an amazing view of the ocean just 10 feet from your lanai. The pictures, description that Jim provided, completely exceeded my expectations!! You walk into this condo and you have a clear view of the ocean from the back of the condo out the sliding glass door. This is a bottom floor suite which was perfect to sit on the lanai and watch the kids play on the grass. A 20 second walk from the lanai are the pool and barbecues. You are on the beach in less than a minute from the lanai. It was perfect. You didn't have to leave the place if you didn't want to, even though we did to explore the island. There was plenty of space for all 3 families that we went with. The condo is finished off in mostly tile and has everything in the kitchen that you could need. Jim, who is the owner, was very easygoing and great to deal with. He answered all of our questions and it was a pleasure dealing with him. He is very honest and enjoyed sharing his second home with us. I recommend this condo, especially if you are traveling with other friends or family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

"We stayed in this unit for eleven nights in March 2010. The condo was beautiful and just as described. The pictures that were displayed were absolutely true to what you encounter when you arrive. The unit was very clean and well kept. We were able to sip coffee and watch the whales every day from the lanai. We had six people with us (four adults and two kids) and more than enough room. The owner was wonderful! The communication was more than expected. He was so prompt in replying to my questions. Thanks so much for allowing us to share the beautiful view your condo provides. The activities that we enjoyed the most would have to be the zipline and the IAO needle. What a rush the zipline was. The needle was amazing. It was raining when we went there but that just added to the experience. Thanks again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our stay was fantastic! The location of this condo is second-to-none and suited our needs perfectly! The condo complex's central location made touring, sightseeing, shopping, etc. stress-free. No traffic jams as in up-island, and alternative routes available in cases of road construction etc. We also noted that many times during our stay, we were enjoying sunny days in Kihei when the rest of the island appeared to be cloudy and rainy. We did get quite a bit of wind, however. The condo itself, being ground floor and facing straight out to the ocean, was also FANTASTIC!. We were travelling with 2 couples and 3 children ages 4,7 and 12. The kids played outside on the grass continually, and we didn't have to worry about them going into the ocean, the pool, or the parking lot by themselves as none of these were easily accessible. Us grown-ups could truly relax on the lanai! From our lanai, we saw whales EVERY day, and some quite close in. We also saw a monk seal twice on the rocks out front, and the odd sea turtle gliding by. Awesome! We made great use of many of the beach toys, towels and mats that were provided (thank you!), as well as the in-suite washer and dryer (very nice to have). We barbecued nightly and ate in most of the time, enjoying the magnificent sunsets. The management at the condo complex were very friendly and helpful. The pool and surroundings were really nice, and much enjoyed by all. The grounds were immaculate. And we enjoyed the Indian restaurant on site very much as well. The only drawbacks, which were minor, were as follows: the condo was not exceptionally clean. However, we give that a pass as we arrived on "tsunami day" and most of the population had been evacuated "up-island". The surrounding beaches were nice, but with very shallow water. Great for the kids but we tended to find other beaches where the adults too could enjoy the water. A couple of the neighbours were less than hospitable towards our noisy kids (understandable, but not really avoidable, and we definitely respected the quiet hours). Everyone else was great. Overall, I can't think of a better place to take a young family and would highly recommend it to anyone! Thank you to our hosts for such a fantastic vacation!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous trip in Maui, and we are so glad to have found this condo! We were 3 couples and stayed there in early February 2010, waking up every morning watching whales breach and going to sleep every night listening to the surf and letting the breeze come in off the ocean. The condo has everything you need... more pots and pans than expected, a dishwasher, fans in every room, an ice maker! The 3rd bedroom closet is packed with boogie boards, beach mats and beach chairs. The only thing I missed was my big comfy pillowtop mattress, so my only suggestion would be to upgrade the beds. We even had internet to email our beautiful pictures home every day! The pool was nice, the BBQ's were awesome, the sunsets were incredible! And the beaches on either side of the condo were perfect for morning workouts :) I have to admit this is the first time I book a private condo and was a little skeptical about sending a cheque in the mail, but the owners were kind and helpful, emailing me as soon as the money was received, and giving us advice as to which local restaurants to try and which tour companies to trust. I would highly recommend booking this place. In fact, I'm thinking about planning a family trip for December!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Aloha! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at our condo. We try to make sure all our guests enjoy their experience, and are always glad to help with suggestions for activities, sightseeing, restaurants, shopping, etc. (especially on a budget). We appreciate your comment that you "missed your big comfy pillowtop mattress". A good night sleep is important, but mattress preference is a very personal thing. This is the first time we've had this suggestion and we will look into possible options. Our little piece of paradise is very special to us, and we always try to promote the spirit of "Aloha". Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much) - Audrey & Jim
