We actually stayed in unit 219 which the owner of this unit booked for us. The Shores is a great place to stay. It is close to all the amenities, but quiet and peaceful at the same time. We traveled with teenagers and they loved the pools and being able to stroll up and down the beach. We loved the roof top BBQ area. It is a great place to socialize and compare our daily notes with other visitors! For the money there is no better value!! Oh yeah and we loved to watch the whales from the roof top as well!!
Owner response:Aloha! We're glad you enjoyed your stay! We are always happy to help guests book our condo, or one of the many other 1, 2, & 3 bedroom condos in this Beautiful Oceanfront Condo Complex. Mahalo, Jim & Audrey

We loved this condo. the ocean view in the mornings from the lanai and the beautiful sunsets in the evenings. Our 2 daughters & husbands joined us for 2 weeks. During spring break our grandson & granddaughter joined us for 1 wk. It was everything Jim & Audrey said it would be. They are lucky to have found & own this lovely place. We recommend this condo to anyone who wants to have a excellent vacation. The Farmers Mkt. up the road was great. Restaurants we liked were Coconut's Fish Cafe, Cafe O'Lei lunch,Big Wave Cafe early bird special evening. Mama's Fish House for lunch, expensive but very good. Da Kitchen has really good fried rice. Walked the beach south of condo to your hearts delight. Molokini snorkel cruise thru Boss Frog. Sunset dinner cruise thru Maui Sights & Treasures. Hana Road trip. Iao Valley. Tropical Plantation. Old Lahaina Luau. Shopping at Lahaina and Kihei. Alii Kula Lavender Farm. 4th Marine Memorial Park close to the town of Haiku. We recommend seeing all of this plus more. We will never forget this family vacation! Jim & Audrey's lovely home. And Maui! Aloha!! Dave & Mary Ann

We stayed in this 3 bedroom unit with 4 other adults and 2 teenagers for 2 weeks and then my parents stayed for an entire month. It is in a great location. Great access to 2 beaches and access to a fish pond for wonderful swimming for little ones. It has a wonderful swimming pool also. The property itself was VERY clean and well-maintained. If we needed anything, all we had to do was call or ask and we didn't have a problem getting it. We cooked our meals about half of the time we stayed here and there is 6 grills on the property, which was very nice. We stayed in a ground floor unit, which made access to the outside especially easy and wonderful to just wake up in the morning to the beautiful Maui scenery. We would recommended renting a car, as almost everything is at least 1 mile away or further. But, we did walk also. We highly recommended staying here! And we hope to come back someday! It was also very quiet and just a great getaway vacation. There is no a/c but we were fine with the open windows and ceiling fans, although we went in March. For eating, we highly recommend Fred's Mexican Cafe, 808 Bistro, Ono Gelato, Jawz Tacos, and for beaches the Kamaelo Beaches 1, 2 and 3 and drive down to Makena and see Turtle Town and the Black Sand Beach. Also shopping in Lahaina is fabulous and take a day trip to Pa'ia and eat at Mama's Fish House! It's expensive, but TOP NOTCH and a 4 star restaurant and absolutely beautiful scenery that you will NEVER forget! Also the Hana Tour is a must. And if you want to give snorkeling a try, Molokini was beautiful. Anyway, we loved staying at Menehune Shores. It was a vacation we will never forget and Menehune Shores provided our home away from home:)

We had 3 couples stay here for two weeks, and loved every minute of it! It's just far enough out downtown Kihei that we didn't feel crowded, but close enough to everything that we didn't spend our lives in a car. Clean, quiet, all the right amenities, and right on the water. Afternoon whale watching was spectacular!

Great condo! Good location in Maui, very central to most Maui destinations. Views were absolutely fantastic! 1st level access is also really nice. Condo was spacious for 6 adults and 2 children. Good condo layout as well. Owners were very professional. We really appreciated the prompt email responses. We would recommend this condo to anyone requiring a 3 bedroom condo. Aloha!

Aloha, Jim and Audrey! Just wanted to let you and anyone interested in renting your little slice of heaven that our family vacation/wedding was nothing short of fabulous!!! This condo is even better than the pictures can show. My husband and myself with our 3 kids stayed here and had plenty of room to spread out, relax and unwind. For being a somewhat larger condo complex I was amazed at how quiet this condo seemed, we met some lovely canadians next door that liked to party and we never heard them in our unit, only thing we heard at night was the sound of the surf :) The rooftop bbq area was a great place to relax and watch for whale spouts and the awesome sun sets! We truly enjoyed our time here and would definately recommend this rental to everyone. The only thing that was alittle bothersome was that it seemed all the surfaces had been wiped down with something very oily, wasn't a huge deal as I have a tendency to wipe everything down before I use it anyway but it sure made the counters and tabletop not "feel" very clean. Regardless of that we are hoping to return to your condo in the future! The location is perfect and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay!! Thanks again for opening your hawaiian home up to us and we look forward to returning soon!!

Condo was as described and location was great! Ground floor was great for ease of access to beach and neighboring condo, which we also rented. Kitchen had plenty of everything. The only thing that would have made the stay better would be more comfortable beds, but all in all a good place! The owners are great to work with and answer e-mails promptly. Great access to Kihei, Maalea and Lahina. Try Beach Bums in Maalea, a great place to eat! Also enjoyed Moose Magillicuddy in Kihei. The aquarium is well worth the ticket price. Also went fishing on the Lucky Strike II, great crew and highlight of the trip!

The condo was a spacious, clean 3-bedroom unit - two of the bedrooms faced the ocean . Centrally located in Kihei, well-maintained property - barbeques available on ground level or rooftop. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night from our lanai - very relaxing - pool is clean and warm with easy access to the beach on either side. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return in the not to distant future.

Wow, we couldn't believe how close we were to the water. It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai in the early mornings and evenings and just enjoy the scenery. My husband and I stayed in your lovely condo with our five adult children. There was plenty of sleeping room with the three bedrooms and the sofa sleeper. We enjoyed the breeze running through the condo when we would open the lanai doors and the front door. There were plenty of fans to keep the air circulating and comfortable. We didn't need airconditioning; that was the one thing I was concerned about. But it worked out fine. One of the boys got up early and paddle surfed every morning and then again in the evening. The kids all enjoyed going down and walking on the nearby beaches. Our oldest even proposed to his girlfriend there on the beach! She said "yes" by the way. Jim was super to work with, very amenable and friendly. The condo management staff was friendly and helpful although their office hours were very limited. All in all we had a wonderful stay. The kids cooked dinner several of the nights we were there and used the BBQs by the pool and the pool occasionally. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals; although we didn't cook much. If we have a large group, we would definitely rent this condo again. This was the kids' first trip to Hawaii. They had a blast and all of them said they would rent this condo again. It's great for a "family" vacation. This was our first VRBO rental and we were very satisfied :)

The pool, the BBQ, the restaurant in the complex were very appreciated. We strongly recommend it, if you want a nice place to stay by the ocean with wonderful sunset!!!

My sister, niece (18) and nephew (21) and their boyfriend and girlfriend and I came to Maui to celebrate my niece's high school graduation. I had found this condo online on this site and after reading the reviews decided to book. What a great choice we made! Everyone was so excited when we walked in and saw the beautiful lanai and ocean view. Wow! We enjoyed many beautiful evenings on the patio eating dinner that had been grilled on the barbecues. The photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and ameneties and the grounds are very well cared for. It was postcard perfect on our ocean side. The sunsets are out of this world and something one could never get tired of. We did the mountain bike ride down Haleakala, diving with the Maui Dive Shop, parasailing with West Maui parasail in Lahaina, hiking in East Maui with Hike Maui and my sister and I went to the magic show at Warren and Annabelle's in Lahaina. All of the activities were great This was a great location for getting to all of these activities. There are also many beautiful beaches in Kihei and so we snorkeled and boogie boarded a lot too. This was a beautiful vacation and we hope to return again. Jim was attentive and helpful at all times from the booking to our arrival. He made everything very easy. We all can highly recommend this condo to anyone.

A wonderful familly vacation was enjoyed at Jim and Audrey's condo in Kihei. The pictures on the website showed what the inside looked like but the view was even better. Absolutely beautiful. The sound of the waves at night was peaceful. We had everything needed to prepare meals. The rooftop for grilling was great even when it was very windy. Sitting on the lanai at night watching the sun go down after a long day of sightseeing or snorkeling was a great way to end a paradise day. Jim was very helpful and easy to contact. Many places to eat and getting to all the many activities was a breeze from the condo location. We would highly recommend this place to family and friends and would definately rent this place again. Thank you again for a wonderful family vacation in your little paradise on Maui.

Aloha! After a one week whirlwind vacation to Maui (far too short a duration), we've had time to reflect on this wonderful sojourn. A huge part of the vacations' success was because of the superb accommodations we experienced while in Maui. The condo owned by Jim and Audrey Speth is perfect in our opinion. The moment we entered it, we were greeted by a Hawaiian welcome on the entry hall wall. That set the stage for our next surprise which was the magnificent lanai and view. The far living room wall is entirely glass with a huge sliding glass door which never failed to frame the amazing and always tremendous views of the Pacific, the island Lanai, as well as west Maui. We had our grown children with us on this trip and never felt crowded. The three bedrooms were very nicely appointed and the beds were very comfortable. There is very nice separation between the bedrooms yet all three open into the living room/dining room areas providing a very easy, comfortable feel. The floor plan is quite efficient. Even though there is no air conditioning, the combination of the cooler tropical evening breezes in conjunction with new ceiling fans throughout, made it very comfortable. After just a short time, we all felt right at home. The kitchen provided very good working space and the Speth family has made certain that there are plenty of utensils, plates, glassware, etc. The proximity of this home to the ocean, the beaches, the Hawaiian fishing ponds, restaurants, and shopping cannot be overemphasized. There were always more than enough parking spaces available upon returning from our different adventures. We found ourselves spending our times of rest and relaxation out on the wonderful lanai. Watching the outriggers paddle by as we enjoyed meals on the lanai was a treat. The condo grounds, just a step off from the lanai, are immaculately groomed and the palm trees adjacent to the lanai are beautiful. Finally, the rooftop views of the islands are incredible. Rooftop Gas Bar-B-Cues are available for use by guests and we enjoyed having sunset grilled dinners while taking in the beauty. It is with great pleasure that we highly recommend this condo home. We already know that at some point, we will return to it. Mahalo and Aloha! Steve & Shelia Brown Albany, Oregon

We had a wonderful stay at Menehune Shores. There was plenty of room for the family of 4 couples and a 10mo old. Jim was excellent to work with. He gave us plenty of info on local restaurants, grocery stores, and even info of the best place to rent a crib and high chair which was delivered to the condo before we arrived. We ate most meals at the condo and made great use of the BBQ. The sunsets were amazing! Can't wait to go back and stay there again!

Beach Front Beauty The most beautiful view. I have stayed on Maui 8 times now and this was the only time I've been right on the beach. What a view!!! We got to see the whales spout off and enjoy our sunset's on the patio. We loved the barbeque on the roof top and were really impressed by how clean everything was. We will be back!

Verhungern konnte man dort nicht :-) While most of our guests come from the United States and Canada, we also have guests from Australia, and various countries in Europe & Asia. Being from Vienna, Austria, Christine write her review in German. Below is the English translation of her review. Mahalo / Danke / Thank you. "Paradise on Maui" The contact with the owners was really pleasant and courteous as well as helpful. The apartment was very lovely, clean and included all comforts. The beds had very comfortable mattresses. In the evening we sat on the Lanai, quite comfortable as we were sheltered from the wind and were able to look out on the ocean. We also saw whales. It is so incredibly wonderful there; the surroundings are a paradise. The beach is very close and for strolling along the ocean (the apartment) is extremely well situated. Very close by there are many restaurants. One certainly would not go hungry there! :)

"Paradise in paradise what else can you ask for?" This condo is spacious, well laid out, perfect for families in a quiet and gorgeous setting. The ocean with turtles, whales and dolphins are just feet away from the large, protected lanai. Excellent pool with a terrific sheltered beach that is perfect for younger kids and non-swimmers. Just around the corner is another beach that you can swim, surf, wind surf, kite surf, snorkel or sun bathe to your heart's content. Nothing but sand and sun. After 6 previous Maui visits, this condo gets our highest praise for value, location, comfort and being well equipped. Absolutely ideal for families but quiet enough for couples to enjoy a romantic getaway. We hope to enjoy this slice of paradise again in the near future.

My family walked in the condo at 11:00pm after a 5 hour flight, dropped their bags and said "It looks exactly like the pictures." And from then on things got better. The sunsets were fantastic, the trade winds warm and not so gentle but they did keep the humidity down. Everytime the family gathered (6 adults and a 9 month old) it was out on the lanai. We literally picked up all the sand toys, snorkeling gear and chairs from the closet and stashed them in the car were they remained for 9 days. Sunsets on the rooftop while barbequeing while we sipped wine and rum drinks are some memories that I will hold on to forever. There wasn't a single thing that we needed that wasn't already available for our use. The beds were very comfortable, the linens high quality and the option of twins or queen in the back bedroom was a definite perk!!! Kihei is a wonderful location, not to busy and easy access to drive in any direction. Thank you so much! We look forward to a return trip.

Aloha! We apologize for not writing this thank you earlier, but life got the best of us since we returned for our fabulous vacation in Maui. Thank you for sharing your home with us on our stay back in August. Maui truly is paradise, and we loved the view from "our" Lanai. We loved having all the amenities provided for us in your condo it made for a great stay. We BBQd on the roof, swam in the pool, and walked on the beach. For any others going to Maui we really recommend the Pride of Maui for snorkelling. It was a fabulous time!! Thanks again to the Speths, you run a wonderful home in Maui!!

This condo is the perfect idea if you want to relax, hang out with friends or family and have an amazing view of the ocean just 10 feet from your lanai. The pictures, description that Jim provided, completely exceeded my expectations!! You walk into this condo and you have a clear view of the ocean from the back of the condo out the sliding glass door. This is a bottom floor suite which was perfect to sit on the lanai and watch the kids play on the grass. A 20 second walk from the lanai are the pool and barbecues. You are on the beach in less than a minute from the lanai. It was perfect. You didn't have to leave the place if you didn't want to, even though we did to explore the island. There was plenty of space for all 3 families that we went with. The condo is finished off in mostly tile and has everything in the kitchen that you could need. Jim, who is the owner, was very easygoing and great to deal with. He answered all of our questions and it was a pleasure dealing with him. He is very honest and enjoyed sharing his second home with us. I recommend this condo, especially if you are traveling with other friends or family.

"We stayed in this unit for eleven nights in March 2010. The condo was beautiful and just as described. The pictures that were displayed were absolutely true to what you encounter when you arrive. The unit was very clean and well kept. We were able to sip coffee and watch the whales every day from the lanai. We had six people with us (four adults and two kids) and more than enough room. The owner was wonderful! The communication was more than expected. He was so prompt in replying to my questions. Thanks so much for allowing us to share the beautiful view your condo provides. The activities that we enjoyed the most would have to be the zipline and the IAO needle. What a rush the zipline was. The needle was amazing. It was raining when we went there but that just added to the experience. Thanks again!

Our stay was fantastic! The location of this condo is second-to-none and suited our needs perfectly! The condo complex's central location made touring, sightseeing, shopping, etc. stress-free. No traffic jams as in up-island, and alternative routes available in cases of road construction etc. We also noted that many times during our stay, we were enjoying sunny days in Kihei when the rest of the island appeared to be cloudy and rainy. We did get quite a bit of wind, however. The condo itself, being ground floor and facing straight out to the ocean, was also FANTASTIC!. We were travelling with 2 couples and 3 children ages 4,7 and 12. The kids played outside on the grass continually, and we didn't have to worry about them going into the ocean, the pool, or the parking lot by themselves as none of these were easily accessible. Us grown-ups could truly relax on the lanai! From our lanai, we saw whales EVERY day, and some quite close in. We also saw a monk seal twice on the rocks out front, and the odd sea turtle gliding by. Awesome! We made great use of many of the beach toys, towels and mats that were provided (thank you!), as well as the in-suite washer and dryer (very nice to have). We barbecued nightly and ate in most of the time, enjoying the magnificent sunsets. The management at the condo complex were very friendly and helpful. The pool and surroundings were really nice, and much enjoyed by all. The grounds were immaculate. And we enjoyed the Indian restaurant on site very much as well. The only drawbacks, which were minor, were as follows: the condo was not exceptionally clean. However, we give that a pass as we arrived on "tsunami day" and most of the population had been evacuated "up-island". The surrounding beaches were nice, but with very shallow water. Great for the kids but we tended to find other beaches where the adults too could enjoy the water. A couple of the neighbours were less than hospitable towards our noisy kids (understandable, but not really avoidable, and we definitely respected the quiet hours). Everyone else was great. Overall, I can't think of a better place to take a young family and would highly recommend it to anyone! Thank you to our hosts for such a fantastic vacation!

We had a fabulous trip in Maui, and we are so glad to have found this condo! We were 3 couples and stayed there in early February 2010, waking up every morning watching whales breach and going to sleep every night listening to the surf and letting the breeze come in off the ocean. The condo has everything you need... more pots and pans than expected, a dishwasher, fans in every room, an ice maker! The 3rd bedroom closet is packed with boogie boards, beach mats and beach chairs. The only thing I missed was my big comfy pillowtop mattress, so my only suggestion would be to upgrade the beds. We even had internet to email our beautiful pictures home every day! The pool was nice, the BBQ's were awesome, the sunsets were incredible! And the beaches on either side of the condo were perfect for morning workouts :) I have to admit this is the first time I book a private condo and was a little skeptical about sending a cheque in the mail, but the owners were kind and helpful, emailing me as soon as the money was received, and giving us advice as to which local restaurants to try and which tour companies to trust. I would highly recommend booking this place. In fact, I'm thinking about planning a family trip for December!
Owner response:Aloha! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at our condo. We try to make sure all our guests enjoy their experience, and are always glad to help with suggestions for activities, sightseeing, restaurants, shopping, etc. (especially on a budget). We appreciate your comment that you "missed your big comfy pillowtop mattress". A good night sleep is important, but mattress preference is a very personal thing. This is the first time we've had this suggestion and we will look into possible options. Our little piece of paradise is very special to us, and we always try to promote the spirit of "Aloha". GREAT LOCATION! - Date of Stay: January 2010 My family and I stayed at this condo for 10 days in January this year and enjoyed every day. The condo was very comfortable and you did feel like you were at home. The tile was great to have in the main area as, being in Maui you did attract the sand, which made it easy to keep clean. The size was great for my family and we enjoyed breakfast on the lanai several times as well as dinners on the roof top with the gorgeous views. The first floor was great for my grandchildren to be able to be outside and we were steps from them. Enjoyed the sunsets and odd spouts from the whales. It was nice not to be right at the Kamole beachs as we found it quite busy there and nice a quiet at the condo. My family and I would certainly stay at this unit again if possible.

"Two couples--sisters and their husbands--spent one of the best vacations we've ever had! The view is exactly what you see! Magnificent! And, breeching whales. What a sight! Great sunsets, a wonderfully warm rain one day, and a very quiet, respectful condo complex. The property managers are very diligent about tagging unregistered vehicles, so really--you can only have one vehicle. But, we parked one of our vehicles on a side-street about one block away. Not so bad, and the walk after a big meal was good for us. Everything in the condo worked. We listened to a wonderful local radio station (put us in a "Hawaiian" mood), and only watched the news a couple of evenings. The kitchen was quite utilitarian--had everything we needed! The internet connection was easier than explained! Just log into your laptop...no plugs! The condo's location was also wonderfully situated just north of the main drag (out of the "earshot" of other tourists) and close to the main roads. We loved it there, highly recommend it, and would book another visit at this wonderful condo! Mahalo!"

We loved the property and location. The inside was very well kept except for some concerns: The inside doors are delaminating and should be fixed. The couch and chairs were very dirty and should be cleaned. The main bathroom shower grout is very dirty and some is loosening. We could not have wanted a better location and we will probably return because of this. There is plenty of room and the decor was very pleasant. Thank you for letting us enjoy your sweet condo!!
Owner response:Aloha! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our "Sweet Condo". Our little piece of paradise is very special to us, and we always try to promote the spirit of "Aloha". We appreciate your comments and wanted to address the issues you brought up. Since we are only able to visit our unit for a week or two during the summer, we rely on our management company and their staff for cleaning, upkeep and repair between guests. The cleaning company has been notified regarding the dirty tile and furniture. Our on site management company will be inspecting to be sure it is all cleaned properly (and checking on the loosening grout). Replacing the doors was already on our list for our stay this summer, and we'll be sure to make it a priority. (*The doors are now replaced.) We work on improving our unit during each of our visits, but once a year just isn't enough. Just as you "loved the property and location", so do we and we always try to improve it. We hope you get a chance to enjoy our unit again (as well as the improvements). We'd love to have you back any time. Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much) - Audrey & Jim

My family and I stayed at this condo for 10 days in January this year and enjoyed every day.

Aloha All, This is an amazing place to stay. We were there four days last week (9/15-9/19) and had an amazing time! The best part about this condo is being able to fall asleep listening to the surf and wake up listening to the same then taking morning coffee on the lanai looking out over the bay. What an incredible scene! I can only imagine how much more amazing it must be when the humpback whales are in town! The condo itself has everything one needs to have an enjoyable "stay at home" vacation. Plenty of beach equipment that we used. :-) Also, it is centrally located in Maui making the entire island accessible within a couple hours. Thanks Jim and Audrey for sharing your condo! It's paradise! Mahalo, JonW and family

"Home Away from home!" "Prior to sealing the contract, the owner fielded all of my questions, remained in touch, and provided additional insight relative to touring the Island--"Sage advice" to say the least. Upon arrival, the first word I heard from my kids was "Wow"; followed by, Dad you got to see this--the Condo was/is peaceful. I took the owner's advice to heart and toured almost the entire Island. After our daily activities, it was nice to hear the kids say, "ahhh were home". I could provide you with all the adjectives, but none would suffice. If you're thinking of renting, stop wasting time, this Condo is it. Ideal location, spectacular view, and AWSOME owner. This condo gave the morning cup of a coffee a whole new meaning, and a pleasant dream every night Not only I would strongly recommend this condo to a friend, but I will stay there again and again. After all, it is home away from home. My utmost gratitude to owner and family for their tremendous hospitality. MAHALO"

Aloha Jim and Audrey, Thanks to your wonderful website, we found your rental condo and in turn, the condo complex became wedding central for a number of my niece’s wedding guests. Of course, we checked out each other’s unit and realized that your condo was a great choice for us. It is more spacious than the other units, many amenities, oceanfront at ground level, and the view is spectacular! The upgrades since viewing your website in 2008 were a welcome surprise. The tiled entry, kitchen, dining and living room made it easy to keep clean. The carpets in the bedrooms looked new as well. Furnishings were comfortable and we didn't have to open up the sofabed. We found many towels, beddings, a collection of beach chairs, mats, umbrellas, boards and snorkeling stuff. The kitchen had everything we needed. You even had sightseeing CDs, assortment of books and Internet. It’s funny now to think of the email I sent you asking if you had a list of certain items and your answer was simply “Yes” to all. And thanks for the tips as well. The location is central to everything. Though the pool and on-site restaurant were being renovated, there’s the lagoon in front, and beach areas on either side of the property. Shopping and eateries were within a mile and more selection just a few minutes away. It is convenient to Kahului airport, shopping and dining. It's a great home base for exploring the island. Our visitors were awed with the turtles in the lagoon. The ‘front and center’ view of the sunset was spectacular, too. Being at ground level was like having the lagoon and ocean in our backyard. And, whenever my brother used the BBQ grill by the pool, he’d stop by our lanai to share yummy goodies on his way back to their unit. Ah, what a life! We hosted the ‘Getting Ready’ breakfast for the Bride and her gals. The bridesmaids settled comfortably on the carpet in front of the mirrored closet doors in the master bedroom as they did their makeup. While they had their hair done in the living room, they enjoyed the calming oceanfront view. What you have done and provided in your condo made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. Your hospitality is greatly appreciated. Your condo had all the comforts of home. Your Unit is No Ka Oi (The Best) !!! Mahalo, Beth ;-) p.s… We donated a net to your collection of water toys…and for the kitchen, an Ice Shaver.

Great central location on Maui. Yet, being right on the ocean front, it makes you feel that you are getting away from the bustle. Nicely maintained property.

Your condo was a great place to hang our hat during our stay in Maui. It is very central to most areas of the island and we were able to do all sorts of day trips directly . We loved the pool, watching the turtles in the water, just feet away from our lanai, and made use of the wonderful bbq facilities on site as well. Listening to the water is always a great way to fall asleep. The condo was very comfortable even on the hot days with the wonderful breeze that comes in off the bay. Rooms are generous in size and the view is fantastic! We met some very nice people while grilling our dinners, but for the most part we just had a very quite and private stay here. Although it is a large complex, it was not overrun with people milling about like some others. Meals on the lanai were very lovely and the condo's amenities were all we needed. If you are looking for a place with great weather, a quite night's sleep and a view to enjoy, this is the place for you. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Our family absolutely loved staying in this condo last July. If you have children you really will appreciate that this condo is on the ground level. Just open up the patio door and you've increased your space even more. If you are at the pool, bbq, or beach and you've forgotten something, it's just 1 minute to get back to the condo and grab it. I'm sure all the other reviews have covered all the other wonderful attributes of this condo and location, I just wanted to stress how great it was to be on the ground level for us. My 9 year old son and 85 year old grandmother had total freedom. We will surely be back for our next stay!

My family and I stayed in unit 114 at The Menehune Shores condo complex in Kihei Maui. There were 5 adults, and two children. The condo has 3 bedrooms, a large living room, decent dining area, and a small kitchen. We had plenty of room for all of us. The master bedroom with king bed was a good size, and had an ensuite, with toilet, sink, and walk in shower. It had an ocean view. The second bedroom, which also had an ocean view, had a queen sized bed, with a full washer/dryer in the closet. The third bedroom was on the street/parking side, and was a good size, with a queen bed as well. In the mornings it would get a little noisy on that side, when the caretakers started their cleanup....oh well, the place is immaculate!!! The lanai had enough room for the table 4 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs, and had a perfect view of the pacific ocean. It also opened out to the grass which was great for my two kids (3 and 5 years) They could go outside anytime and run around. The pool deck was great, clean swimming pool..beside the bbq's. The grounds at the menehune shores complex are immaculate. We also found the condo to be very clean, and had everything we needed (beach mats, a body board, lounge chairs, beach ball......) all dishes, coffee maker.... Very quiet, only heard people outside one evening, but didn't hear much over the sound of the waves :) This condo was great for our big family, and I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

I found Menehune Shores #114 online while trying to find a place to stay while on Maui for my brothers wedding. We were traveling with 3 adults, 3 children and 2 elderly Grandparents, so location and easy access to the home and around the grounds was key. The Speth's condo was perfect! Close to shops in Kihei, fantastic location on the bay, fantastic views and only a short distanc to 2 small beaches, pool and BBQ's. The condo manager even gave my grandparents their own handicapped parking space for the week we were there. This was such a relief. As soon as we walked in, we felt comfortable. The condo was stocked sufficiently with everything we needed. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was great. It was so nice to come home without any dirty laundry. We sat on the patio througout the week eating our meals on the patio while watching the whales, local fisherman and boarders. It can't get any better than that. We will definately be back and will refer all of our family/friends traveling to Maui to stay here. I must also say that because I was traveling with kids and grandparents I had a million questions and concerns. Jim Speth answered all my questions and releived me of all my concerns. He was very willing to help. His communication and patience with me were wonderful through the whole process. I am very grateful for that. Thank you Speth Family. We will be back!
Owner response:Aloha Jaime & Family! Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank You Very Much) We are glad you enjoyed our condo and look forward to having you as our guests again. Mahalo, Audrey & Jim Speth

Dear Jim & Audrey, We loved you unit at Menehune Shores. The location and view were perfect, with beautiful sunsets right off the lanai.Being on the first floor made it feel even larger than it already feels, which is spacious and well laid out. The lawn was like a carpet and made using the gas grills even easier for a wonderful dinnertime. Everything was clean and even better than described. All we needed was provided or available nearby. You were great to work with, too. We look forward coming back again.

Thank you for a wonderful three weeks! It was more than a vacation for me...it was like a second home. I was a part of the neighborhood, not just a visitor. I loved learning how to paddle an outrigger there on site, enjoyed the wonderful Indian meals at the new restaurant, and the beauty of the sunsets each night made me wish I had booked for the whole month. Thanks again! Dori Lawrence

August 23-31, 2008: my second trip to this amazing condo. This was our birthday trip (I'll leave YOUR age out) and was fantastic! The company was great, the weather was perfect and of course I loved the accomodations. It was nice having that master bedroom/bathroom all to myself for almost 9 days. I can't wait to go back on my ? birthday in 2 years! I wish I were there right now watching Kimo the bird (HE'S ALIVE), trying to find Larry the Gecko, dining at Mama's Fish House, driving our red convertible through tunnels singing at the top of our lungs or just chilling on your lanai watching the sunset with good friends. It was an AMAZING trip. Mahalo! Naneki
