WE LOVED IT AND CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK! We have used VRBO several times and have had nice vacations. Karen and Gene made this a SPECIAL TREAT! All linens provided! NO WASHING! The cabin photos don't do it justice; they are accurate, but the AMBIENCE of the setting can't be felt by viewing photos! Even tho there are cabins all around, we felt like we were alone on our private lake; the cabin is situated on the lot in such a fashion as to create complete seclusion, if that's what you are seeking! If you want to cook, everything you need is there. If you want to dine out, it is close to dozens of restaurants. The beds are comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets furnished, something that other rentals we have stayed at have neglected to do. Shampoo, cream rinse and shower soap included--where does THAT ever happen!! Flat screen tv for rainy days, an easy-to-use gas fireplace inside, a DVD player, games for kids in the cupboard, DVDs and books for your use--Karen and Gene have thought of everything. AND a brand-spankin' new Shore Station Lift, and dock just a few steps away from the cabin door; you can't find anything that convenient for fishing at many places! During packing to leave, we missed some items; had an email from Karen the day after we got home and she is sending our forgotten items to us! What a peach! One of the most enjoyable vacations we have spent in our 25 years together! We would recommend this VRBO to anyone! Except for we want to keep it just for us!

We truly enjoyed the peaceful property and quaint cabin, just a few steps from the lake. It was exactly as it was presented and we had a wonderful time. This is a wonderful little gem of a spot and we are hoping to be able to come back again another time.

Stone's Throw Chateau was a wonderful place to vacation with my wife, kids, and parents. The cabin location is perfect for views, fishing, tubing, and just plane old relaxing by the water. Fishing on Lake Milacs was great! Heck fishing off the cabins personal dock was pretty good. We also enjoyed how close we were to a grocery store, gas station, golf course, and fishing guide. The cabins air conditioning was perfect and believe it or not we did need the fire place (PERFECT!) The Grills (one gas and one charcole) worked out awsome for cooking fish, stakes, potatoes, beats, and what ever else we could squeeze on them. To top it all off the owners and their family made it feel like a home away from home. Fresh strawberries, good conversation, and more than willing to help out. If your looking for a good place to fish, relax, go boating, hiking, golfing, and awesome neighbors Stones Throw Chateau is it! YOU BETTER BOOK YOUR TIME SOON BECAUSE WE ARE SPREADING THE WORD!

My husband and I just loved your place, we had the perfect weekend. The sunsets are awesome. I didn't catch any fish but he caught a really nice 4.5lb Walleye, very nice even though we couldn't keep it. We would definately come back again, Gene and Karen were very hospitable. Thanks again

Enjoy relaxing by the lake, or fishing the wonderful Mille Lacs. For either, Stone's Throw is perfect. For a fisherman, having a boat lift on this lake is just tremendous. No waiting at an access and constantly trailing the boat. The ad description is spot on, and met all my expectations. The amenities provided were above and beyond compared to other "up north" cabins I've stayed in. Gene and Karen (owners) were a pleasure to meet, and made my family very comfortable. Having them nearby is very comforting in a VRBO situation. We had no problems, but its nice to know someone is near if one should arise. In conclusion, I will be returning to Stone's Throw in the future and highly recommend it to all.

The cabin was a nice location and docking for boat. The owners were very helpful and ready to answer all your questions. Negative side that is was not very clean outside (house had cobwebs all over outside as did all the lawn furniture and not very inviting to try and sit on). Would have been nice if they had sprayed/washed down!! The inside also needed lots of updates.
Owner response:It is so important to us to provide the best stay possible for guests that even one unsatisfied voice is one too many. We don't pretend to be more than we are - the pictures we show online (12 of them!) and the cabin's description are true to what the cabin offers: a comfortable, clean, and cozy cabin close to the shore with a private dock and boat lift. Vacation days and time away with family or friends are precious. We do our best to provide helpful information and answer questions for our guests to help them make the most of their time together at the lake. We always make it a point to encourage them to tell us if there's anything they need. Our guestbook comments and face-to-face comments have consistently been very positive and complimentary during the four years that we have offered our cabin as a vacation rental. Many guests have come for the fishing as the lake is well-known for its walleyes. Guests from all over the United States and several foreign countries, however, have come to experience the simple joy of watching the sunfish swimming under the dock, the peacefulness of watching a campfire while sitting on the cedar log swing, the warmth of the cabin's native stone fireplace while playing a good game of cards, the awesome beauty of the sunsets viewed from the lakeside deck (or the couch!), and the lulling sound of the waves and call of a loon as they drift off to sleep. We're glad that the writer enjoyed the dock and boat lift directly in front of the cabin and the cabin's location. It's so convenient for fishermen to have their boat close and ready to head off to their favorite fishing spot in the morning, scoot back and tie up for lunch, and be back on the water in minutes. We're very sorry, though, that the cobwebs were a problem for the writer. We sweep off the three decks, patio furniture, and portions of the cabin walls before every group of guests arrive but it seems the bugs are determined to stand their ground and quickly resume their efforts. Ah, life at the lake! Because the battle is never won, there's a broom in the cabin's kitchen closet available for guests' use.

My sister & I came up here for 2 nights & 3 days and were pleasantly surprised. This great little cabin was exactly like the internet pictures. Very clean & well maintained. So many amenities were included. The use of the kayaks were an added bonus. Gorgeous view as we sat on the double wooden swing having our wine and wrapped up with an electric blanket with extension cord. (Bring your own) Facing the sunset was spectacular. Would definitely recommend and I am already planning to return. The hosts, Gene & Karen, were very accommodating. Thank you

Karen and Gene were very accommodating and provided us with a great experience for the weekend. Their communication was incredible and they helped make it a home away from home for the duration of our stay. Prices were very reasonable and the house was great. Nice view of the lake, ample area for dining and a nice living room area. I will definitely stay there again in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay at the lake.
