Charming cottage in a spectacular location on Fogland Point. Large wraparound deck faces the Sakonnet River and features a gorgeous panoramic view. We particularly enjoy cocktails on the deck at sunset. The sunsets are unusually gorgeous. The front yard leads to private rocky beach great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, shell collecting and hanging out with your kids while they explore the water's edge. Located a short 5 minute walk from the town swimming beach (lifeguard on duty seasonally), boat launch, playground and one of the best windsurfing locations in New England. Rental equipment and private lessons are available on the beach.
This two bedroom cottage has a queen sized bed in the master bedroom, a set of bunk beds and a single bed in the second bedroom, and a futon couch in the closed-in porch (where you can hear the sound of the water at night). Bring your own linens and food -- we provide the rest. The house is equipped with wireless internet, digital cable television, DVD/VHS player and an ipod/CD player. Though the kitchen is small, it is fully equipped with microwave, food processor, espresso machine, blender, mixer, baking pans, etc. A front-loading stackable washer/dryer is located in the bathroom. The house is very kid-friendly and comes with beach toys, books, a few videos and a lot of games for family evenings or the occasional rainy day. The closed-in porch, complete with lobster lights, is great for enjoying sunsets and quiet evenings with the sounds of waves lapping on the rocky beach below.
The cottage is located less than 10 minutes from Gray's Ice Cream, frequently rated best ice cream in RI. Besides Gray's there are other businesses worth exploring in historic Tiverton Four Corners, including The Provender, several antique shops, galleries, a toy store, gift and home decor shops, designer clothing shops, cheese and pate' shop, bookstore, library, restaurants and more. Tour Sakonnet Vineyards, only 10 minutes away. Downtown Newport, with its mansions, sailing, restaurants, shopping, and jazz festival is only 30 minutes away.
Great food abounds at local restaurants, fresh seafood markets, and country stands in both Tiverton and neighboring Little Compton. Local restaurants feature great home cooking and seafood specialties, like seafood chowder, lobster rolls, fried clams, clam cakes and homemade pies.

Why the Owner Chose Tiverton
Our family has been vacationing here on Fogland Point since 1984. My wife and I spend 2-3 weeks here every summer and our twin daughters, now age 10, describe it as their favorite place in the whole world. Fogland Point, with it's dozen small cottages, private dirt road, and spectacular views in every direction is a treasure.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love breakfast on the deck, watching the boats go by. We love spending hours beach combing, and watching our daughters catch baby crabs and explore tidal pools. We love paddling around the point in kayaks. When the wind comes up later in the afternoon, we love windsurfing in the cove.

We had a fabulous time at this cottage . . . the perfect place to relax and watch the sailboats go by. We have family in the Newport area and it was an easy trip for them to come visit us and vice versa. It was very comfortable and cottagey which is just what we were looking for. We really liked the cheese shop, Milk and Honey Bazaar at Four Corners in Tiverton as well as cookies at the Provender! We are big fans of lunch at Marguerite's in Westport, MA and dinner at The Boathouse in Tiverton (we've been to both a number of times and have always enjoyed it.) We will definitely rent this beauty again!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My husband and I enjoyed this cozy cottage. The master bedroom is comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and there's enough space in the living/dining area for several guests. The view is gorgeous - my sister said "Sitting on this deck saps all ambition!" We enjoyed watching lobstermen pulling pots and numerous sailboats drifting by, backed by a nice view of Portsmouth. The owners are very prompt and helpful in response to questions. Recommendations: Sakonnet Vineyards, Westport Lobster seafood market, Gray's ice cream (a necessity!) and the Bristol bike trail.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+.

We've stayed in this wonderful cottage for several years and look forward to many more years. It's lovely in the spring, summer or fall. The listing description has always been spot on. The house, linens and amenities made me feel at home. Despite a very private location it has easy access to Bristol, New Port and even Boston. Great area for foodies, cyclist, windsurfers, shoppers and loafers! The concord grape arbor yields scrumptious fruit in the early fall. Tiverton has many farms with local produce abundant. The homemade ice cream, the cheese shop, I could go on an on........
