Waterfront Paradise -- Bring Your Boat!!

Excellent Vacation Spot

Guest: Christine (Banks, Oregon)

We spent a week at Abram's house and it was everything that we expected; great weather and views. We used the small boat, bicycles and kayaks everyday. The crabbing was great and we ate way too much. We had plenty of room for our whole family of eight. I highly recommend this rental if you are into quiet vacations with lots to do and see.

family reunion at an exceptional location

Guest: 17 months - 77, something for everyone (Clarksville, Mo)

Grandma, sons & daughter in laws, grandchildren and wives and great grandchild all enjoyed the waterfront paradise on Decataur island. We went crabbing and had enough crab for a couple of very bountiful dinners. We played frisbee, tossed footballs, played badmitten, croquet, walked to the park, the public beach, used the playground equipment at the school, rode bicycles, went kayaking, doug for clams, looked for sea glass and shells on the beach an enjoyed smores around the fire pit. It was a great place for us to get together and share, as families were meant to do. What a blessing!!

What a peaceful oasis!

Guest: K&D (Hillsboro, OR)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/19/10

We were fortunate to spend a week at this wonderful property in early August 2010 - it was heavenly! From the expansive covered deck with gorgeous water, island, mountain and sunset views, to the comfy house with the great kitchen and warm, relaxing living room, all of our needs were met with rustic luxury! The crabbing was out of this world! Fishing was ok - dogfish galore, and a few rockfish - though with all the sweet dungeness crabs, who needs fish?! The listing description is entirely accurate; the photos barely capture the comfort and amenities! As the ad recommended, we did bring our boat - which opened a whole other world of exploring: seals, bald eagles, jellyfish, and the aforementioned crabbing and fishing! But any review would be remiss if we didn't mention maybe our favorite amenity: the porch swing! We spent a lot of time sitting in the swing, reading, watching the 3 resident geese in the salt marsh, and being enveloped by the breathtaking sunsets - each sunset of our seven night stay was different and marvelous! This is the place to pampered and refresh yourself!

Second time around and still loving it

Guest: You hit the jackpot (Seattle WA)
Date of Stay: 07/31/10 Review Submitted: 08/18/10

This is our second year staying at the Waterfront Paradise house and the worst part about this place is leaving. Our group consisted of 9 people and the accommodations work great for all. Between biking, kayaking, hiking around, croquet tournaments and just relaxing there is plenty to keep everyone occupied in the group. The private dock is a must for us. It makes island hopping and going for an evening cruise easy. Crabbing has away been very good for us and we like that we can use the houses pots as apposed to having to bring ours. The architecture and detail is creatively inspiring and has great charm. Everything is well maintained and appointed well. It is truly and A+ experience.

AMAZING GETAWAY

Date of Stay: 08/24/08 Review Submitted: 08/12/10

We just got back home from a week at your house. It is beautiful and so well maintained. I love the little island of Decatur, it is close enough to Anacortes that we didn't have to boat for too long and far enough away that we felt we were really "on vacation." Thanks again for sharing this gem with the rest of us

Great Family Retreat

Guest: SimonCampbellGray (Marysville, WA)
Date of Stay: 04/30/10 Review Submitted: 05/27/10

We stayed at this wonderful vacation home to celebrate some birthdays and had 8 adults and 3 children. The space was perfect for the group and we had plenty of room. The kids are older in the early teens and had a blast taking walks to the store, riding bikes, playing volleyball, board games and much more! They were entertained the entire time and us adults enjoyed a very relaxing weekend that included walks along the beach, games at night, a large kitchen for cooking meals and kayaking. The house is in great shape, clean and accommodates large groups perfectly. This is truly a perfect place to stay and the Island is beautiful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
