Year Purchased: 2007
There are 3 owners in this property. It is me and my husband and two of my brothers and their wives. We are from Montana. My husband and I do a variety of things, but mostly specialize in different parts of real estate. I build houses and do interior decorating. My husband is an electrical contractor and specializes on commercial real estate. My brother's live in Utah and Colorado. They also are involved in a variety of things, but spend most their time on their distribution company. We really love to spend time together and think family and creating memories together is so important.
Why the Owner Chose Portofino
We choose to buy in Cancun because we think it is fabulous! The beach is always soft, the ocean is always a gorgeous blue and warm, and the people are friendly and helpful. We came down every year on a family trip and finally decided it would be better to buy a place. We loved it so much we actually bought two! We knew that we could bring something to the rental market with all of our experience. We made our units into our home and provided everything that we would want in a vacation
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
I think the unique benefits you get from our condo are our style for a well decorated home. I tried my best to make you feel like you were staying at a 5-star hotel; from the mattresses, to the embroidered beach towels, to the very accents of each table. I wanted people to walk in and fall in love.
We also provide you with the amenities that we would want in our vacation. We have every kitchen appliance you could want. We have flat screen televisions, ipod players, Bose stereo system. We also provide our guest with the paper towels, baggies, garbage bags, tin foil, laundry soap ect. We do not think our guest should have to bring their own.
We pride ourselves on maintenance and having the best property manager. Things in Mexico tend to have a shorter life span and need replacing or fixing quite often. We try to do an inspection each week to make sure things are in order and working. Our property manager is also very responsive and will do her best to get things fixed within 24 hours.
We love our condo and hope you will too!

We just got back from a beautiful trip to Cancun. This condo was absolutely gorgeous! It feels like home--everything was at our fingertips. Location is perfect--beach was quiet, pool very nice--good snack shack. We had a chance to peek at the penthouse on the top floor of the Portofino--and we would have chosen this one hands down. So happy we did. The interior decorating was beautiful--painted walls, nice furniture, not to mention great beds. The owners opened up the kitchen so it's a more open floor plan and so nice. We were as happy inside as out. The free wireless Wifi and printer were fantastic--and we used skype to make phone calls home for pennies. Too bad we couldn't stay longer. Loved the walk in closets in 2 of the 3 bedrooms too. Great check in and check out with the managers who were so good to us. All the comforts of home with an AMAZING view! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting a quiet stay in Cancun with the comforts of home.

This condo is absolutely beautiful! Our family of three stayed there in October of 2010 and we enjoyed a perfect holiday. The condo is very spacious, beautifully decorated, and is outfitted with everything you need for a great stay. The pool and beach area are great and it was nice to have the snack bar to order drinks and snacks. The condo is centrally located and cab stands are located right outside the property. The property manager is very accomodating. She purchased groceries for us for a nominal fee and arranged for transportation to and from the airport. We stayed at a very exclusive Cancun hotel in 2009 but this condo was superior. We will most definitely return!
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

Would have been nice to have some remote control/tv instructions. We had a great stay! Staff was wonderful including guards and snackbar. Would definitely recommend or stay again!
