Hello and thanks for viewing our home.

We built it in 1991 and took great care in selecting all the materials and working closely with the architect.
You can view and hear the ocean from almost every room!

This is the first season we have ever offered it as a vacation rental or rental period. So you may be one of the first to enjoy our home.

We are less than 5 minutes north of the village of Mendocino yet you’ll feel like a million miles away.

Our next door neighbor is the beautiful Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse.

We have 2 decks for your pleasure.
One on the front of the home is a new wooden deck with see glass paneled railings.

You’ll love gazing over the ocean…spotting whales breach when they are migrating….watching the sun set…maybe enjoying a glass of local wine.

In the back of the home is a large deck with a gourmet barbecue and a large hot tub.(If someone in your party enjoys smoking please have them use one of these two decks.)

If you enjoy cooking and entertaining you’ll have plenty of space and amenities to take advantage of.
In the kitchen we have a large six burner Viking gas range and two ovens. Also, a large Sub-Zero Refrigerator.

We would like to welcome you with a nice bottle of wine or brandy with our compliments.

Enjoy the dramatic high ceilings and skylights throughout our home. Even on an overcast winter day the skylights
give warmth through their natural passive solar heating effect.

The handmade custom dining room table seats 12 people comfortably and is perfect for holiday gatherings, celebrations, conferences,
even off site meetings for your organization or group.


We love animals, especially our dog Harley. So we know how important it is to find a place that welcomes pets.
The home has light colored carpeting throughout so if your pet is well behaved and clean we are open to having them stay with you.
We understand that sometimes older pets, (and young ones) might be more accident prone so this is a concern.
If you’d like to bring your pet let us know and we can determine if it’s a good fit.

Our neighbor….

The Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse Preserve; a unit of California State Parks, it includes the historic 1909 Light Station and almost 300 acres of undeveloped coastal bluffs and prairie.
You can learn more about them with a quick internet search.

The lighthouse is very beautiful and adds its unique charm even at night and in winter storms.

Because of this park and our year round running stream we have an extra active population of wildlife!
On any day you’ll be surprised by the variety… falcons, turkeys, deer, our resident nesting swallows, blue herons (please ask them to leave the Koi pond), a pair of Ravens, river otters, an occasional skunk, raccoon, and maybe a bobcat. There are always birds to enjoy.

We are just North of the Village of Mendocino.
Take the Russian Gulch State Park turnoff on Highway 1, (just 2 miles north of Mendocino).

This park is known for the heavily forested Russian Gulch Creek Canyon, a headland that features the Devil’s Punch Bowl (a large, collapsed sea cave with churning water), and a beach that offers swimming, tide pool exploring, and skin diving. Inland, there is a 36-foot high waterfall. Hikers enjoy miles of hiking trails. The park also has a paved three-mile bicycle trail.
You can walk to the park from our home.

Just a mile north of our home is Caspar State Beach. Dive for abalone, fly a kite, or hit the water for a little surfing, boogie-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling or swimming. Sunbathe on the sandy shores, or comb the beach for shells. The beach is dog friendly too. Directly across from the beach in a protected cove is the most unique campground on the Mendocino Coast and the only private one.
If you are planning a large gathering or family reunion then this is an option for campers and RV’s (up to 50 ft.) Also, The Caspar Inn is a well known, local roadhouse with live music.

  • We have been renting houses on the Mendocino coast for over fifteen years, and this is easily the best appointed house we have stayed in. The kitchen is supplied with a great range of pots, pans, serving dishes and utensils - all of good quality. The house is beautiful, spacious, and in a great location. The furnishings and decorations are of top quality. Blake and Jeanette could not be more hospitable. Stay here if you can - it is a real treat.

I've always loved visiting with you at your home, especially during the holidays.You are the perfect hosts. The pictures look great but really cannot replace being there. I love the new deck too.
