This newer 3-floor family lodge sits on 600’ of southwest facing shoreline on Nelson Lake with 2500 acres. It is one of the most majestic and relaxing setting for a vacation retreat. Unlike many overdeveloped lakes, more than 50% of the lakes shoreline is inhabited only by nature and her wildlife. Make sure you look for the nesting bald eagles, loons, geese, swans or osprey that we are honored to have selected this as their summer home. The property has majestic fir trees, a private small boat launch and 2 docks on the finest setting of the 31-mile shoreline of Nelson Lake with wilderness islands, bay and forest views.
The lodge is ideal for retreats, several couples and family gatherings. The spacious lakefront yard is perfect for family games with a large rock fire pit for evening bonfires (wood provided). Two nice public boat launches are not far away. Swim, fish, boat, jet ski, waterski, snowmobile, cross-country ski, or bike from the property. The beach is sandy in places by the main dock and rocky in others. We swim and float on innertubes by the main dock with a swim ladder. A 16 foot aluminum row boat and 2 person paddleboat are provided. Pontoon and fishing boat rental is available on the lake. Nelson lake is not a heavily used lake especially at our location and has several resorts, eating spots, and bars that can be boated/pontooned/driven to. The Hayward area and nearby Bayfield peninsula (60 miles) offer unlimited vacation opportunities such as the October Apple Festival. No smoking.
