Location: St. James City, Pine Island, Florida South West, Florida, USA (Close to Cape Coral but you feel like you're a world away)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-6)
Keywords: Waterfront Concrete Block House, on a large private lot.
This home is a great escape for anyone who loves the ocean. Bright and cheery well kept home, directly on a canal. 10 minute boat ride to the gulf through a beautiful and scenic waterway. This is not a manufactured home. It is concrete block home with an oversized and very private yard.
Dolphins, manatees and otters are often spotted. St. James City is truly relaxing and peaceful. Great fishing right off your newly built wraparound dock. Snook light and fish cleaning station. Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath with a large and bright eat in kitchen. Cable TV, stereo and a queen size fold out couch.
The home is very comfortable and you will leave feeling very relaxed. If you feel like a little excitement you can always find a band playing in town at one of the several restaurants. Playground with in walking distance, large community pool in the center of the island, or many activities in Cape Coral which is about a 20 minute ride away.
Cape Coral has a large water park, the shell museum, science museum and lots of shopping. You will pass through a little town called Matlacha which connects Pine Island to Cape Coral. Matlacha is like a mini Key West. It has several art galleries, souvenir shops and restaurants surrounded by water on both sides. If you have a boat or decide to rent one there are endless activities for you at the surrounding islands.
This is a vacation you will want to return to year after year.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
I live in Naples Florida, am married and have three children. I grew up in upstate New York and graduated from Siena College. I was in pharmaceutical sales until my first child turned one. Since then I've been managing investment properties.
Why the Owner Chose St. James City
We originally bought this property as a vacation home. My husband is a physician and sometimes needed to get out of town and relax. The first time we visited St. James City we fell in love with it. There is no place in Florida quite like it. It is the way Florida probably was 50 years ago, and is truly relaxing.

I stayed here for a month and it was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The dock was great for my boat and the neighborhood very nice and quiet.

This property is not what it is advertised. The house was dirty when we arrived, they had put tile over the house and there was tile dust in closets, rods, fans door facings. The master had such a bad paint job that I would have thought a child could have done better. The kitchen had plastic plates with so many cuts that I would not eat from them. There were no serving dishes, no toaster, microwave. When we stayed it was a cold winter, there is no furnace just a small oil heater for the whole house. I would not reecommend it to my worst enemy. It has been a couple of yrs since I stayed there, but made friends with a couple that rented it last yr.
Owner response:I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay. It is a shame because I know how valuable vacation time is. I wanted to respond to some of your complaints. I assure you there are dishes, a microwave and a toaster and are all in good condition. We never had an oil heater, but we do have several electric heaters that are more than sufficient on the few cold nights that we get in the winter. We did retile the whole house, and I apologize if there was dust in the closets. I didn't have a good reliable cleaning person in place at the time. I now have Rhonda and I assure you she is excellent. I think I know who you are talking about that stayed this past season. I received several complaints from him throughout his stay. I tried to be responsive to every complaint he had and I thought everything had been taken care of to his satisfaction. Please read the reviews above. I have had several very satisfied renters since then. As a matter of fact the couple that rented this past season for March rented for February and March of 2012. If you would like to stop by and take a look at the place again I'd be happy to make arrangement so you can see it. Thank you for your feedback. Without feedback I don't know how to improve.

My husband and I stayed at the home for a month and had a tear in our eye when it was time to leave. The house was very clean and comfortable. There was a nice big yard and great outdoor area. I would definitely recommend staying at this home.
Owner response:Thanks for your nice review. I hope we can have you as a guest again sometime. Thanks again, Sue
